Hello.
Will this phone ever get CM9 rom?
Thanks.
No answers? -.-
You would have to get a developer willing to spend the time porting cm which might be difficult because the optimus hub is not a very popular device.

Alright, someone is working on CM9...but camera doesn't work well and he (the developer) said that he can't fix it without the phone...haha...how funny.
I'll keep this thread updated if changes appear. Peace.

Lately I've been searching through MIUI Formus, and I came across a thread for the Optimus One in the MIUI Forums.
This thread is a port of MIUI for the Lg Optimus One, so my question is, would it be really hard for someone to port MIUI for the Optimus V? I would LOVE to do it myself, but I have no programming skills. Anyone would also like to see this ROM in Optimus V?
Its not a miui rom on optimus one, its mainly a cm7 rom with all of the miui apps and Widgets installed, you can download most of them free in the market

No..infact there is someone porting the MIUI rom to optimus one, i just saw it under the "Porting Advice" subforum in the official MIUI forums.
The person porting the rom is just stuck in a certain part of javascript, I have no idea what is failing since I havr no knowledge of programming.
I would provide a link to the forum but I cant since I need 8 posts, and I dont want to spam the forums just to get 8 posts.

I would like that as well. I enjoyed the look of it on my buddies Samsung.
That would be fantastic I love miui

I'll say. This should be 8..

miui is pretty cool indeed and from what I hear they use some cyanogen source. What I would suggest for now is to setup a build environment using iho's repository and begin to make it yourself.
"But Asadullah how do I do that "? Just follow the instructions to build cyanogen and then take an miui rom and start to replace the icons and what not to get it to look like miui. That's just a theme right? Yes but what I'm thinking and hoping is that others will port it to their devices and add things to the code and eventually we'll be sitting on an open source miui rom.
I heard that someone already did it somewhere but it couldnt do mms camera.
Hello.
I'm trying to get ICS working on my HTC sensation. I was wondering what I need to do to make it work on my device.
I have ICS working in the emulator but I want basicly port it to my sensation
Sent from my Sensation using XDA App
That's much work
You have to port device-specific things that's the trick.
If you aren't an expert on these things you should wait until CyanogenMod9 is released and then the developers will port it to all compatible devices
Yeah it is and its going to take 2 months for cm9 to come out plus I want learn how to do it...sooo as far as I know I need to port over the lib files, maybe egl for graphic, change the boot img, and other things
I have the basic knowledge of porting but I was just wondering if it also applies to the ics source code

So just get the update, use CM9 to figure out how to get the device specific parts, and go bananas on your own ROM. If that is to much, you should probably see what you can do to help CM (and learn along the way) or just buy an ICS device to hack.
It might be worth the kicking around for fun and education (that's why I would: curosity), but otherwise it's faster warm and fuzzies to spend $ and more benifit to everyone to expand an existing project, to learn more on how to do your own. Just my two cents but good luck, hope you get a nice ROM going for your wants.

I assume like any other open source project, get involved. They seem to have a very handy wiki: wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Main_Page and issue trackers. You could probably walk into their IRC channel and ask if there is anything specific that needs help, and poke around the issue tracker. N.b. on IRC asking any question can take a few hours to get a reply though, depending on who is reading vs lurking.

Take a look this link ICS was ported on Optimus ME
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22805576
Guys,
I have read that CM10 will be on the Optimus G but haven't seen any discussion on it at all. If CM10 is not currently available, are there any other ROMs under development that give you more of a stock jelly bean look?
Thanks

It's no question that the devs are working on these ROMs. Drop by the IRC channel if you want to see some of the chatter. They'll come out. The only questions you might want to ask yourself are when and how many? I think consensus is we'll start seeing them in January. Regardless, this phone is a powerhouse. Personally I'd rather have a nice sleeper than a mainstream piece of plastic. Jump in, man. The water's fine.

Yea. Great phone. Very sturdy and the LG UI isn't bad at all.
Yeah - they're not posting anything here until they have something of note. But rest assured there's multiple development branches going on right now. IRC is definitely a good place to listen in.

Thanx for the info guys I'm about to jump on the lg wagon, just got to the store so is just a matter of minutes now...
Got it! I just rooted, unlocked and installed the base rom in less than 15 minutes lol, cant wait for JB!
Welcome to the club! I really like this phone and would be fine with it even if they weren't coming out with JB. But they are...

How about creating the ROMs yourselves?? Just a suggestion, there is also a tutorial how to build from source if you don't know how to...

Dude I waited like a year for Aosp roms on my vivid. No that phone rocks. Also on the motor defy I waited 6 months in 2k10. Now still to this day no other forum has more development going. This phone will have long term support. More than most at least. I really see this phone standing the test of time
