webtop 3.0 screen size - Motorola Droid RAZR

anyone know how to change the screen size while in webtop 3.0 on rooted razr?
i have it plugged into a PC monitor which is square but webtop is configured for a rectangular phone or tablet, so the screen is letterboxed inside my monitor, with wasted/black space above and below so e.g. i can only see a limited number of lines at a time of an e-mail message
wondering if there's a way to change the screen dimensions so it uses whole screen (rather than letterbox or just stretching same rectangle vertically to fit square screen with no added usable space)
ps - i installed ubuntu in an effort to restore the webtop 2.0 firefox functionality, but it's too slow and quirky - so now i'm just hoping to make 3.0 more usable until a better ubuntu implementation or other solution is available

Browsing - Font Size

Even on my desktop I end up pressing CTRL+= to increase font size. When I do this it usually doesn't affect the layout of the website at all. All what it does is increase the font size without creating any scrolling. It means the whole window is visible so I don't need to scroll left/right to read and at the same time I got th ebenefit of being able to read (enlarging the font size).
How do I do this in Android? I have Firefox browser and the default browser.
Is there a way where I can increase font size on the run (or from setting). Zooming in will force me to scroll right and left which is VERY inconvenient for reading. If I can just do this CTRL+= thing which prevents scrollers and fits the whole text on the screen.
Is there a way to do such a thing using Android Smartphones?

[Q] Asus TF201_ubuntu 1204_Greyed-out icons and flickering Dash menu

I am new to all this so apologies for the long winded account.
Object: I want to install Ubuntu 12.04 on an Asus TF201 Prime along with Android 4.03
- Dual boot.
Existing situation: At the moment I have Ubuntu 12.04 up and running but I
have encountered a few problems.
BACKGROUND DATA:
Computer ASUS TF201 Prime 64Gb SSD
Unlocked
Rooted
ROM: stepped down from 9.4.2 .21 to 9.4.2 .15
Android ver.: 4.03
Ubuntu img(Full 3.34Gb) and startup files: from ZPwebsites. No response by ZP to
requests for assistance
with fully paid version
of Ubuntu Install.
Installed Ubuntu 12.04 on 32Gb sdcard
Using terminal and Android VNC to activate Ubuntu 12.04.
Screen resolution set at 1280x800 24bit colour
PROBLEM:
Ubuntu main screen opens in normal Ubuntu colours except for
the icons on the LHS. These buttons are greyed out and without
any glyphs.
An error message apears: "System program problem detected Do you want to
report the problem now?"
There is no further information about the problem but there is "cancel" button alongside a "Report the problem now?"It would be interesting to know to whom the error is reported and how!
On sliding the cursor along the RHS of the menu pop-out
indicator will indicate what icon is close to the cursor.
The upper task bar appear to have overlapping features. For example, the word "ubuntu desktop" is partially masked by another sub-menu which indicates the time.
Using either a mouse or a stylus one can activate these icons. It helps to know
the positioning of various programs on the LHS menu!
On activation, however, not all of the selected icon react in the correct manner.
'Dash' -- On activation the sub-screen "Search" is subject to very fast flickering.
Ocasionally one can get a glimpse of the items present in the 'Dash'
menu and, if one is quick enough, can even sucessfully select a
program in the 'Dash' menu.
'Mozilla'-- Tries to run Mozilla but encounters aproblen and then goes into
a 'report problem routine'. The program seems to be searching for
a non-existent e-mal address. In short one cannot use Mozilla.
'Ubuntu Software Center' --When selected it will open correctly and one can
download programs which will function properly.
'Libre Office' etc. -- The three item in this collection seem to function correctly.
So three problems: (1) Greyed-out 'icons' on full 24bit coloured background
with no glyphs on the 'icons'.
(2) Dash menu subject to intense flickering
(3) Mozilla has a problem starting
Are problems 1 and 2 related to screen refresh rates?
Or is it a problem of screen resolution?
If so how can I adjust these items?
By the way has as anyone set an ASUS TF201 Prime to run Ubuntu only? If so how?
Any and all help appreciated.
Have you thought about installing a lightweight desktop such as XFCE or Fluxbox (even try Gnome) to see if the problem lies within Unity or the "core" of Ubuntu?
Have you thought about installing a lightweight desktop such as XFCE or Fluxbox (even
Both the small version of Ubuntu and Ubuntu 10.10 appear function correctly. In the case of
Ubuntu 10.10 I set the screen resolution width to 1280 and the screen resolution height to 760
pixels. The greying-out problem appears to be confined to Ubuntu 12.04 desktop page and the Dash page.
Because I was able to get glimpses of the contents of the Dash page could the problem be
that the refresh rate is too low?

Please help with Android 4.1.1 on Virtual box has screen size issue

Hi
I installed AndroidVm on Virtualbox. Everything is great except that the apps run larger than the screensize it seems. For example I generally cannot see the settings button (stacked dots one), seems like. Therefor I cannot set those settings and some other issues probably.
Is there a way to change the screensize or force the apps to fit the screen poroperly? I am using the tablet version of AndroidVM.

[Q] Alter device screen size & origin?

Hello. Does anyone know of an app or hack that will allow me to constrain the OS display to a certain size and position on the physical screen? I have a Nexus 7 that I would like to use for an antique radio mod project. It would live behind an opening in the wood case. But the screen is too big (in both dimensions) for the opening. So I would like to be able to make the OS think it is working with fewer pixels and choose the new origin. That way I could keep the notification bar at the new top, the soft buttons at the new bottom, and see both new edges.
Thanks for any pointers!

Browser feature

On my old Evo Lte you could make the screen bigger by swiping outward. (to make the text larger)
Then tap the screen and the text remains larger and is fitted to the screen.
Is this still available with any browser?
I know it's not on chrome.
