going back to bone stock - HTC EVO 3D

Ok,
Want some input before i do this and screw something up.
I'm currently running Scott's CleanROM ICS (built off the VM leak)
I honestly have no idea what FW (stock sprint, stock VM, modified, etc) i have.
I basically want to get my phone back to bone stock, all sprint software (FW, Radio, OS, etc) and go from there
What is the easiest way to get this done? And once i do, and upgrade to the latest OTA, is there a way to root HBOOT 1.58? All i really want root for is to WiFi tether..
Suggestions appreciated.

Where to start....well how about development is for well development and I know this sounds obvious but I guess this needs to be said seeing the circumstances....questions go to the Q&A section seeing as its a question and answer section....(that's what q&a stands for in case you didn't know)

Ok, so i flash "RUU_Shooter_S_Sprint_WWE_1.13.651.7_Radio_0.97.10.0530_NV_NV_SPCS_1.16_release_198109_signed"
via fastboot and now i'm back to the following:
Appears locked (Bootloader no longer says "revolutionary")
S-Off
HBOOT 1.40
Radio 0.97.10.0530
Android 2.3.3
Sense 3.0
Software Number 1.13.651.7
Kernal 2.6.35.10-gcb1cf83
PRI 1.42_003
PRL 21086
As far as i know / can tell, this is all stock sprint stuff, but retain s-off, have the ability to unlock and root?
What do i need to do from this point to get the the latest stock sprint stuff

Since you ran that ruu, you should have stock gingerbread. There is an ruu out there with the latest Sprint stock stuff (ICS). If you run that one, you will be ICS stock but still s-off.

[Q] Getting back to stock

So, I updated to the leaked kernel and would like to get back to stock. I know we had to wait for s-off, and since we have it now I was hoping for a how-to. I see we have a back to stock radio but what about the stock RUU? I am still getting used to all the terms here. Learning the difference from kernel/RUU/Radio/Rom. I am only confused on kernel and RUU.
I do have s-off.
Thanks All,
XDA user are the best
I would avoid flashing the radios. I would flash the latest GB RUU. After that you can flash and downgrade your hboot to the eng hboot 2.11 if you would like. Then go about how you would have dine before to run ics roms with the firmware patch unless the dev says otherwise......
If I am wrong someone will correct me.....as I have not done this.
HTC Rezound via TT2
BeringBullet, are you rooted? I ask because I also installed the ICS leak and want to go back to stock but I dont want to root.
Does anyone have a link to the GB RUU? I cant find a working one.
Not the most recent one but you can update over the air:

Yes I am rooted, thanks for the link.

Then I assume you haven't done S-OFF? You will have to root to do the exploit. If afterward you run the GB RUU and flash the eng HBOOT, you can run stock unrooted ROM.
Word of warning; IF you flash the eng hboot after RUU'ing back to GB. Don't attempt bringing S-ON back to the device as you will brick to an unusable state.
Here's a write-up I made in another thread, just a quick summary of what steps to take. You can leave the stock hboot but if you wish to flash radios and/or s-on you will need to unlock.

What do I need to do to be ready for ICS OTA update?

As the title states, I'm just curious what I need to have done to be ready for the OTA update.
Currently I'm on the ICS leaked firmware, running CleanROM 4.3. Do I need to S-Off?
I would just wait until it gets incorporated into CleanRom after the official version comes out.
——— On Rezound with Tapatalk
I would think you would need to s-off so you could RUU back to gingerbread. Then you could receive an update.
You don't do anything. Let our great devs update their coding based off OTA. It's usually a good idea to not take OTAs right away. Never know what kind of hidden security patches may be included. I would hold off until you hear some news pertaining to what the update provides and if it's safe to flash.

I'm with the original poster. I would like to know if there is step by step instructions on how to unroot my phone if I need to to get the update. Or would just relocking be enough to get it? I'm currently on cleanrom de 1.2. Also, are we supposed to get sense 4.0 or 3.6 with this, or does anybody know?

I agree and wouldn't sweat it at all. Once it becomes official the devs will do what they do and we'll have plenty of options for the upgrade.
to actually answer the question that was asked, the easiest way is to just flash the leaked or stock RUU if that's what you want. you won't lose s-off, and you'll be updated like anyone else. You won't be root, of course, since it's a stock ruu. you'll still be able to flash a non stock rom later, load amon-ra, etc.
there may be a rooted stock rom out there that i don't know about that will do the same for you. i've not dug too heavily into the stock rom scene, since i prefer a rom with a lot of features.

The only thing I would do for now is to S-Off just in case this new update makes it impossible to S-Off after updating the system. As others have said you should wait until after Devs have time to play around with the OTA and incorporate it into ROMs before going ahead and flashing it.
S-off first, then just run the most current official gb ruu and don't unlock it or change recovery until after you have the ota update. I will personally wait for the official ics ruu (probably from football) and then run that and start from scratch.

so i'm on CleanRom 4.3 standard, unlocked and rooted, s-on, stock firmware.
can you get s-off from here?
this root/unlock buisness is cray maybe I need to give up..
I kinda want to be ready for the ICS OTA but I guess I might as well wait for CleanROM to be updated. But then am I going to need s-off at all ever?
what do
Since you didn't do the Leak, You don't need S-OFF. if you don't want it.
Just wait until the Dev releases it and forget about the OTA.

I'm on the leak also I'm hopping it isn't like the the Eris or Incredible leak, which ever it was. To many phone's to keep track of Lol.

Need to go back to stock. Help :)

Right now im running a sense 4 rom, with an unlocked bootloader. I need to go back to stock sense 3.5 for someone because im selling the phone. My phone is also S-On. I relocked and tried flashing the latest gingerbread RUU but got Error [140] BootLoader version problem. Any ideas guys?
If you ran a Ics ruu leak the Best you can do is run a gb Rom. If you s off you can run the gingerbread ruu. This is why so many people wanted s off...now they can flash leaked ruu and radios upgrading or downgrading easily.
Sent from my Rezound
Ok so im guessing im on the latest ICS leak, I can run a GB Rom with no problems?
If you ran an ics ruu, you will need a sd card fix since the.mount points of the sd card have changed from gingerbread to ICS
Sent from my Rezound
Alright, ill find one.
Edit - If I want to go back to 100% stock I gain s-off, then what, flash an old ruu? Anyone wanna give me some simple instructions?
There's.a guide to s off in the general section.
Also I found the Sd card fix if you decide to not s off

I think I might just go s-off and flash an RUU from the Vigor Shipped Collection, would I still be able to be on the OTA path after flashing all that fun stuff?

Yes, if you S-off and then flash the latest OTA from the Vigor collection you would be able to get the OTA if you wish.

if you've got s-off, run 1.02.605.6 ruu and go back to completely stock non rooted.
Then go here http://forum.xda-developers.com//showthread.php?t=1612937
and do this.
I found out s-off requires some mcgyver ****, Not into that, so I guess ill have to keep it on the ICS leak

No way to go back without s-off. It really is pretty easy and safe..two people out of probably more than a few hundred successes.

Hey the wire trick isn't bad just make sure you aren't touching the exposed wire. and the end that goes in the hole make sure it's touching the contact. Then touch the other indicated point for a moment then take it of count one-thousand two-tho then touch it again then. The whole time you keep the other end in the hole on the contact. If you mess up it will just keep telling you to try again. Only bad thing is if you touch the ends of the wire, make sure it's insulated.

how do i see what hboot i have?
okay after trying to unroot my phone i think i bricked it, it stuck on the htc load up page, and if i try to turn it off it just turns back on. i cant even get into recovery mode, any help?
Read the link above. Sounds like you ran the 3.15 RUU and didn't get the radio update like the rest is us. You are SOL.
That said, you can get back into the phone, all you gotta do is HTC unlock the phone. Just be aware that unless you have the 1.12 radios any JB Rom, stock or custom, will have unstable radios. For an almost stable experience you will need to flash an old ICS Rom.

I just arrived from the search button, and this is the closest question I have found to what I need, but I don't quite see an answer to where I am, but I figured I would ask here rather than bother everyone with a new post.
I'm on an HTC EVO 4G LTE rooted with supersu, teamwin and all that stuff. I can't quite remember what package I got, but I did it right when the phone came out and have been happily using it rooted since. I would like to go and either make my phone capable of getting the OTA sprint jellybean update, or find a flash rom that I can install.
I haven't done anything yet. My phone is still rooted and fully functional, but I want to get all the advice before risking anything. I did try to OTA update it earlier, but the Teamwin recovery program came up on the reboot.

[Q] Is there a point in updating hboot?

Sorry in advance. This is more of a confirmation than a question. Anyways, a friend and I have been in discussion about updating hboot. Now I'm s-off with hboot 1.19 and all I did was update to the latest radios. I'm more inclined to believe that that's all I need to do. My friend on the other hand says I should take the OTA or run the latest RUU, get everything including the hboot, then unlock the phone again and continue as normal. His reasoning is because he claims that the phone works better with the latest everything rather than just the radios. Is there any validity to his argument or should I just ignore him.

I'm on hboot 1.12 s-off I just flash the updated firmware when it becomes available my phone works flawlessly. As long as you are running the DR hboot 1.19 you are good to go
I'm not an expert but what I do know is you NEVER want to take an ota if you're rooted. Also upgrading to the newest h-boot is only asking for trouble. Who knows what HTC has up their sleeve. You don't to end up getting burnt. I am on .19 and have the latest radios and firmware and all is working perfectly.
