Did you use Rom Manager to boot to recovery? I don't know if it's the same on i9100 but the i777 has issues with Rom Manger, with the recovery part of the kernel. I know CM comes with, I haven't researched it but maybe something to look into...... It kinda sounds like you formatted the ROM. GL

Yes i used Rom manager to boot into recovery...
can u suggest any possible fix for this??
Flash siyah kernel via odin and that should give you a fresh copy of clock work recovery if its corrupt?
Rom manager is nothing but trouble. It done the same thing to my x10i and my sg2.
It took several hours to get them back to running cwm(so I could restore my nand backups).
I think I used doom lords easy rooting kit for one and Odin for the other.
I've done a lot of stuff on several phones and I can state that after using RM it left the phones as close to full brick as you can get........lol

Yup, there's your problem. Rom Manager flashes incompatible kernel.
Simply boot into download mode and flash Siyah kernel and you will be back up and running.
Sorry mate it dint work... I flashed siyah kernel and now the phone doesnt proceed further from Siyah kernel logo...
can any one provide me way to flash a rom using odin...
i can use CWM... not even with the hard key combination...
only way left is i guess Odin..
Odin cannot flash .zip formats and all the rom downlodables are in .ZIP format...
is there a way out?

Hi try this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21659039 I got stuck on boot animation to RM and this guide fixed it. There is a full recovery package and guide included but it will wipe your device as it uses the CSC partition of odin. Read it thoroughly and see if it helps in your situation. All the best.

I had a custom ROM Experience V2, was running perfectly but just had one or two bugs.... so to clear them i thought i will install everything afresh. But I was unaware of the consequences. I have rooted phone with bootloader unlocked. Munjeini CWM ... installed... I accidently formatted everything from CWM. i.e cache, system, SD Card ... all . Any chances to bring back the phone. I can still boot in CWM, also tried to install the custom rom , it did , but not booting. PLZ HELP!!!

Did you try to install, using flashtool, the stock rom?
Try this way mate and after that you copy on your sdcard the rom you want to install. After that enter from cmw and install the rom. Should work this way.

I can't understand one thing mate. He said that he already tried to install custom rom via cmw. How did he do that if previously formated the via cwm the internal storage? If he copied custom rom on internal storage via cwm should boot, isn't that right?
@pusghatole did yoy try to wipe cache, dalvik cache and do wipe data/factory reset before installing the custom rom again?
Same thing happens to me in past with xperia arc I accidently formatted everything in cwm, including format sd card while installing rom, after a long search I found solution on xda i.e FLASHTOOL
.So just flash the stock rom of your phone. It will come alive again.
Thnx

This is a common problem of ics rom. I suggest you to try the SXU Terra Rom v5 or v6.(credits to bonosharm) It's a very good rom with good battery life.
Here is the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2141726&highlight=terra+rom
Recently i installed also jb conversations for ics link:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2134241&highlight=proper+port (credits to erorcun)
and jb phonebook for ics link:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2143977 (credits to erorcun)
and my impression is that a little bit faster.
Check them you want.
Hello everyone, hope you are doing well.
My Galaxy Tab 10.1 was running all fine with this rom since months: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2074202. Recently, someone was using it and it suddenly rebooted, hanged at the CM 10.1 boot screen ( the spinning circle ).I tried rebooting it again several times but to no avail.I booted to recovery, wiped cache and dalvik cache. And it still won't work.I suspect it happened because of my memory being too less or completely exhausted.
Anyway, thanks to one of my friends, I was able to recover the files from the /data/media/0 directory via adb pull. However it wont push (adb push) the rom file.I didnt have the zip file of the rom on the tablet.I guess its because of the memory being low.Anyway.I tried wiping data/factory reset. And the recovery stuck at formatting data.(Clockwork mod 6.0.3) (and the recovery would reboot when i tried to push the file).
What should I do now? Should I change my kernel and recovery and try wiping and adb pushing it then? or should i first clear the memory via some adb command ( that I am not aware of and would be thankful if someone told how to delete a directory or something ).
I would be really really thankful if you could help me on this.
Thanks in advance ( Eagerly waiting )
P.S: The kernel i used with that rom was the one that came with it along with everything else.
First of all, thank you, I'm doing well.
You can try other ways if you can think of one first. The only thing I can think of at that point would be to flash stock ICS using Odin. This would be the last resort if other methods don't work. But the fact that you can't even wipe data or adb push means that flashing stock ICS is the only option left.

Alright .If I want to flash this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1813651 . What would I need to do first? (Also the memory problem will persist)
First I would say to flash back to stock ICS to start fresh. And then make a full wipe and flash that ROM. I don't understand what memory problem you have. Is it in the system or your SD card?

A lot of stuff saved on the sdcard. It's all internal, right? Anyway I could check the free memory via adb? Also first I'd need to flash ICS kernel via Odin, right? It would come with its own recovery where I would wipe stuff and install the rom after pushing it(or is there some other way to have it in the sdcard)?

If the stuff is on SD card then you should probably delete some useless files to make way for the ROM. Its quite big actually, around 400mb++ due to the aroma that fits everything in the zip. There is a command where you can check free memory via adb, but I'm not so good with bash. You don't need to flash ICS kernel. Flashing the stock ROM will automatically flash the kernel(and stock recovery) as well. Once you've flash stock ICS, let it boot up and manually transfer the ROM to your tab. Just drag and drop from PC to tab.

Extract the stock ics zip, you will get a .tar.md5 file. Flash it via the PDA slot in Odin while your tab is in download mode. About the tab not detected, did you install the drivers for your tab?

Hey, I've figured out the command to know how much space you have in sdcard, if you still need it. In adb shell, do
Code:
df /sdcard
It will show you the total, used and free space left in sdcard.

And what made you try a rom in development when you don't have the means to recover from disaster which would surely happen?
Try to see if in the stiky for windows 8 drivers, and flashtool windows 8 instructions if anything works there for you.
Try
Do you use USB 3 ports? Someone have posted solution for them a while ago in the forum, search it.
If you are able to enter cwm then mount the sdcard and load the zip of the rom previously installed on your phone and flash it !

Is you cwm recovery still functioning?
If it does see if you can mount USB storage and copy rom zip to it.
Do your PC recognize the phone, even in flashmode?
Windows key + R, type devmgmt.msc, connect the phone and look if the screen turns white. If it recognized then flashtool should have it too, if not, install drivers as @chickeD said.

I wasn't talking about flash mode. When in CWM go to mounts and mount USB storage at the bottom, in theory you should be able to mount it on your PC, never work for me though because I cannot find the MTP drivers or maybe my CWM is not the greatest, but I never had one that did work.
Did the disable driver signing from flashtool site didn't work either?
Also look at this post and see if that works for you.

follow the intructions for flashing the rom as suggested by op in cm11 thread and u will have no bootloops
Man, flash other ROM that it worked on your phone. I think the most important here is to get out of that bootloop so flash stock or other ROM like eXperience.
Later on you can flash CM11 from the computer.

Hello
I've accidentally flashed a wrong cwm-recovery (meant for some other phone)
After the installation I've rebooted into recovery and it booted the one I already had (that's when I understood it's the wrong one)
Then I've tried to reboot back to my rom but it got stuck on the rom's loading screen
Tried to flash a new rom after using gs2RomWipe
Tried to restore from a nandroid backup
all of them gave the same result.. stuck on the loading screen
Now to my question...
If I flash a stock Rom via Odin.. will it be enough? will I be able to reroot and use my phone normally again?
Or is there an easier way maybe?
i did the same today..
all the time bootloop..
flashing same rom that i was using did not helped..
flashing some other rom helped but cant call cause phone dont see simcard..
flashing some other roms like cyanogenmod also stuck my on bootloop..
I am pretty sure you have to flash via odin.

when I've entered recovery it said E:failed to mount efs (invalid argument)
so far I've found no way to make the phone work

almost all the guides I've seen about that requires the rom to work and use root explorer
the others wasn't clear enough or just not related
according to the shell commands my efs folder is empty
copying the efs folder I have on my sdcard doesn't help because it's not there after reboot
I have a tar.gz as well but not sure how to use it
can I flash the .tar via odin? or some other solution with adb/shell?
or do you think it has nothing to do with my problem?
anyone have any idea how to help me???
I've tried many different ways but my device just wont make it past the loading screen of the rom (doesn't matter which one)
I really have no idea what can cause this problem
thought that flashing stock rom via Odin should fix it but it doesn't help
I've tried some methods I've seen to fix efs problems but so far nothing helped
I'm really desperate at the moment :\
download mode and flash the cwm kernel via Odin should work.
Sent from my GT-I9100G using xda app-developers app
i am facing exact same problem
and it also start with flashing cwm for kitkat
nothing working now stock or custmised rom
hope some one can help us to fix it
Any more ideas??
If I take it to my carrier company, will they be able to make it work with their official rom?

Did you get your device fixed?
OK.....just a quick thing......Odin flashing a normal single file stock firmware *may* not be the solution as it just overwrites what is already there during the flash. I will provide a link to a three part firmware that wipes the old as it flashes.....this essentially flashes the firmware onto 'pristine' memory partitions....it *might* help......
Here's the link.....

Search for @Hopper8s Odin troubleshooting guide for instructions on how to flash it.....
Good luck.....
This might be my S2, or it might be my W...but it's definitely CM
