Hboot - where can i download it? - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

hello everybody,
i'm new here with my htc flyer. i already tried to find something, but i cannot find the answers.
i'm already s-off with my flyer, but i wonder why i need different cwm, if i use hc/ics/jb or gb - do i need it, or am i wrong?
also i want to know: where can i download different hboot's and how do they look like?
are there only 2 different hboot's?
thx for your (fast) answer

maybe i still do not understand.
on desire i can easily get another hboot with "fastboot flash hboot".
does this not working on the flyer?
if it works, maybe someone is able to upload or give a link of the boot.img plz?
or do i have to download 500mb hc_ruu?
thx in advance

No i didnt seen posibility to flash Hboot that way. Whenever migrating from GB to HC or HC to GB it is runing RUU wich changes your Hboot as well.

it seems that i still did not get it.
so i have one other question.
how can i get a working rom, which requires HC (h)boot ?
atm i use cm GB rom / stock rom(as nandroidbackup)
i tried to use RUU_Flyer_HC_S_HTC_WWE_3.55.405.1_Radio_20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.07_M_release_226690_signed.exe to get on Stock HC, but it ended in a boot loop... (my device is a c102 - german O2)
i tried to reflash 2 custom roms(dexter jb and ics xxl), also nothing happend.
also my recovery was gone(ofc is was, because i used ruu)
after nanddroid restore, all fine again, and i'm back on gb...
so any tips/hints how i can get a working 4.0 or hc rom...
at least a link, maybe i missed something or something is wrong in my brain oO
thx for your help in advance

Since u r already s off its really easy for ya; just runing ruu and then flash desired rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1358758
basically download apropriate of the 3 choices:
3G RUU_3G_B09.zip
WIFI RUU_FLYER_WIFI_B10.zip
US-WIFI RUU_FLYER_WIFI_BBUS_B10.zip
run it and u r on HC with S OFF. then u flash costum rom.
U can flash new recovery but i simply keep 4.0.1 on and works on GB and HC.
Enjoy.

GB ROMs = use GB Hboot
HC, ICS, JB ROMs = use HC Hboot
To migrate to the HC Hboot, just follow Globatron's method linked in the response directly before mine. I believe there is also a method by Globatron to go back to GB in the Development subforum.

that was the thing, which was missing,... but still i dont understand why i can't only flash a boot to use the hc roms.
i installed RUU_3G_B09.zip after extracting it ofc
now i can use it - big thx.
@redpoint Globatron's method, what is that? i will google it. but so far all works.
maybe one more other question.
i need the HDMI enabled, is there a custom rom which work with the hdmi adapter?
or maybe an app which can enable the support?
thx for you help, i'm happy so far with my flyer

I thought Flyer didn't have a hdmi port?

it did not work with CM 7.2 XK rom,... that's why i ask.
i will let you now if i can test it again. forgot my adapter @home...
and i'm not there...

thx for that!

MHL doe snot work on any ASOP roms. So any Sense rom GB or HC it will work. CM7 or ICS or JB builds for Flyer it does not work

you know anything more about that "problem"?
is it a driver? or just an app? under CM7(GB) i got an logcat message that a HDMI device was found.
the thing is, i developed an small app, but it does not work on HC.
did not got the time to make it "HC ready"... ICS and GB is supported.
i will go back to GB then for first
i just tested the HDMI it with the really nice AOKP rom (before i read your post ofc)

it seems on galaxy nexus it does work with AOKP (with fast charge enabled)

[Q] OTA Update For 16GB Flyer with S-OFF/CWM/ROOT

Hi all,
I have rooted and S-OFFed my 16 GB Flyer using Revolutionary and I'm currently on 2.3.4.
I just noticed that there is an OTA Update available for 3.2.
Can i run this without an issue, or do I have to restore the flyer to stock to flash the OTA?
thanks,
i dont think it will run and you need to go to stock for ota update.

thanks, I thought as much.
every time I read through the threads on returning to stock I just don't understand it fully.
The main thing I am having issue with is understand what the RUU is and how I know what one to use.
I have a UK 16GB Wifi only
as you are s-off and rooted you could upgrade to a custom 3.2 rom. i did it a couple of days ago and im happy with it. I also have a 16gb uk flyer.

i followed GLOBATRON's guide to upgrade to HC which is very straight forward
I think that is what is tripping me up.
So, all I have to do is download the RUU for the 16GB,
as I'm on GB with Revolutionary S-OFF and CWM i just run the executable?
does the Flyer need to be connected to the PC? does it have to be in a certain mode?
sorry for the questions, I've come from rooting on Galaxy S2 and this seems far more complicated.

need to be connected via usb, i put debugging mode on. run the.exe. it will reboot the flyer into fastboot and flash it. if you download the full one it will be stock with root and s-off if you want, you can then reboot into recovery and flash the custom rom
excellent, thanks for your help.
for the LeeDroid Rom, all that needs to be done after going through the above is to flash the zip in recovery?

glad all worked out ok. you might what to flash the LeeDrOiD Flyer HC V2.1.0 - 2.6.35.14 KERNEL it has some fixes in there too. just drop it on SD card and install .zip in recovery
Note from Globatron on HC OTA updates for S-OFF users.
It is possible, but not the simplest of options to upgrade with S-OFF.

Once you are upgraded to HC and on leedroid 2.0.0 rom then update to 2.1.0 kernel. The only time you need to grab anything to do with wifi flyer is the ruins to upgrade to HC

if you got a rooted phone which has them, with root explorer you can go to the file which stores all your wifi names and passwords in plain text. thats how i remember some of mine.
its in data/misc/wifi and the file is wpa_supplicant.conf

Noob Question
I may be posting this in the wrong thread, but this is the closest match I could find, since I am a new member and unable to post in the development threads.
I would like to start off by thanking all the devs who have worked so hard on development issues with the Flyer, I intend on donating to them as soon as I am able, as I think everyone who has benefitted should. With that said, please forgive me if this has been covered. I have read pretty much all the threads/posts on these issues and used the search function, but I tend to get somewhat confused by the high volume of information provided and wanted some verification before I go down this road.
I have a BB Wi-Fi 16 GB Flyer (HTC_Flyer_P512_NA). I have run Revolutionary to get S-OFF, installed CWM, and rooted, but still on stock GB 2.3.4; I am now at Software Version 2.27.1540.32, HBOOT Version 6.10.1002, Kernel version 2.6.35.10. I would now like to give HC a try, but not lose root. I would like to start off with stock HC and have the ability to try out some of the custom ROMs. I would also like the ability to go back to GB, if desired.
Here is what I have gleaned so far:
1) I should be able to run Globatron’s method from post #1 of this thread ([Guide][Flyer]Honeycomb S-OFF, Easy Install, Recovery and Root. [US Wifi Added]), starting at step 2, for updating to honeycomb and retaining root.
2) After this, I should have the ability to flash custom HC ROMs.
3) From there, I should have the ability to go back to stock HC, keeping S-OFF and root.
4) Using the procedure in post #3 of this thread ([Guide][Flyer]Honeycomb S-OFF, Easy Install, Recovery and Root. [US Wifi Added]) will take me back to GB with S-OFF and CWM.
5) From GB with S-OFF and CWM, I can go completely back to stock GB with S-ON using this procedure: [Guide][Flyer+View] How to return to S-ON after running revolutionary].
If/where I am wrong about any of the above, could someone kindly point out where and how I am wrong? Assuming all of the above is correct, I have a couple of questions:
• Will I lose my data using Globatron’s method in post #1?
• Although Globatron strongly recommends method 1, I would like to use method 2 because it seems more straight-forward for a noob like me. Is this a bad idea?
Yes, I am a noob (BTW, I hate that word, but I do fall into that category), but I don’t exactly hate myself. Please don’t be hating on me either, even though I am sure that some, or all, of these questions have already been answered. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.

Best Way to Root EVO View

Just ordered one today and want to be prepared when it arrives. Looked through the dev section but wanted to get opinions from some people here.
It says it will be shipping with Gingerbread. What is the best way to root with Gingerbread? Would it be this link?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1194709
In the end I would like to have Honeycomb running on my device rooted. Can I just run it like that and flash a honeycomb Rom? I saw a thread with people having to flash back to Gingerbread to get the official Honeycomb Rom. What would be the point or advantage to this? I am definitely not new to rooting and like to be there when the device first rolls out so I am there from the start but I am juming into this device pretty late to the party so there seems like a few different options to go with.
Appreciate any help with an overview and best direction to go. I am sure others who purchased the device today would find this useful as well.....
Thanks in advance guys...Looking forward to hanging with the view folks. Seems like a cool crowd!
That would be the best way.
If you want to go to Honeycomb and retain the root/S-OFF (google that if you dont know) then you must follow this guide to go to Honeycomb:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1409306
If you want stock Honeycomb with NO ROOT you should NOT ROOT Gingerbread and just check for over the air updates.

OK follow that guide.
You can't just flash a HC ROM over Gingerbread, because the hboot versions are different. Once you have followed that guide, you can flash and Honeycomb ROM.
Also I don't thing that HTC updated the View's hboot. You can check by rebooting while holding the volume done key and you will see hboot version.

How to root HC OTA 3.62.X.X , I am willing to pay even !!!! (SOLVED)

Here is where I am confused
I had my Flyer 3G 32GB . S-OFF'd by Revolutionary when I was on GB
Then I had installed LeeDroid's HC rom and I was on HC, everything is fine till now.
Recently I wanted to go back to GB but I could not ( I got some HTC screens so I gave up) then I flashed GLOBATRON'S methods and I am on S-OFF, Rooted HC 3.55.x.x stock Rom from his thread.
Currently there is a new OTA for my 3.55.x.x ROM and I have the RUU file for the OTA.
After running the OTA RUU , now my Flyer is on HC 3.62.x.x but I can not root it. CWM method is not working on the Revolutionary site as this rom is HC , I manually flashed the CWM img thru fastboot but no go.
My question is how to root my Flyer again after flashing the RUU file of the OTA 3.62.x.x from rooted 3.55.x.x
I know that if I flash a rom like Leedroid's it will work, but instead I want to flash the Original OTA RUU and the root it somehow. There is NO instructions on how to do it for Flyer.
My question is how to flash the CWM and SU onto my new HC 3.62.x.x Rom
Can I somehow remove the ROM and RADIO of the already rooted 3.55.x.x by Globatron and replace with ROM and RADIO of 3.62.x.x ? If yes how to do it ?
Or what to do ?
Pls Help somebody

I believe, since it is the ota, that you need to complete the steps of the tacoroot/ misc version method of downgrading from globatron and then flash the gb ruu for your device, I don't believe it matters which hboot you have for hc. Then use globatrons honeycomb s off ruu on top of that and bingo! Hope I helped

I already used some of them but I wasnt happy with the battery drainage.
I was on Leedroid and battery drain was fast somehow, currently I am on the rooted stock 3.55 and my battery is 80% since I took it off the charge this morning at 8.00am
I used it full time for 1 hours when I was going to work in my car. Normally with Leedroid I could never get 80% at this time since I do regular things with my flyer every work day , such as check my e-mails, facebook, twitter when I am on the 1 hour way to work.

Here is the LINK of the RUU of the OTA
Now I am S-OFF by Revolutionary , and rooted by Globatron's HC 3.55.X.X from this link
This is the info about it :
Instructions Part 2
The large download is a stock HoneyComb 3.55.405.1 for 3G and 3.55.1114.31 for WIFI with the following changes:
Rooted
Busybox
Secure flag turned off on the boot image
Stock recovery replaced by CWM
My Android knowledge tells me , if I replace the ROM.ZIP and RADIO.ZIP of that rom with the pnes from the latest RUU , it can work.
But if it is something else, I wouldn't know it anyway
Quick Note
I have not had any reports of battery drainage on my ROM, its listed as Senseless 4.1.0 in the threads, maybe give that a go ?

Here is a link to a stock ROM which you can flash in recovery that has been pulled from the 3.62.468.1 RUU with root permissions added. Just make sure you take the usual precautions and nandroid backup your device first. If you are fully S-OFF this should work fine.

As far as I know , this rom has English and Turkish as the main languages.
You might need Morelocale2 from Market to add more locations such as Netherlands and etc.

You can do absolutely nothing! :good: Just glad to help.
Here's a link to the radio.img from the 3.62.468.1 RUU if you wanted it. You can flash it to your Flyer in fastboot using;
Code:
fastboot flash radio radio.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot
If for some reason something doesn't work have globatron's RUU ready at hand.

After S-Off?

After two days of trying i managed to get it working!!! i however did use a paper clip and did not bother insulating it after trying with speaker and coax. everything seems fine. Is that ok?
I was going to also ask what can we do besides flashing radios and hboots? will nandroid backup now back everything up including radios, and hboots?
Another question. Ive been looking at sebastion OC kernel and one other and they dont seem to say if it is for ICS or Gb or what build? will it work with the latest stuff?

1. Yeah that's fine all the testers just used uninsulated paper clips too
2 Android backups won't save Hboot or radios, but they will save the boot.img and s-off allows for downgrading firmware and easier rom flashes
3. Sebastions kernel is ICS only so it will work with the latest stuff, but not GB

I had a rooted ThunderBolt and i think it was ziggys kernel. It had call recording and was amazing!! really useful. anything like that with the rezound?
When you downgrade easier you mean that you can get the correct hboot and then say downgrade to GB with an RUU? do you need to have the right hboot?
sry kinda new
THANKS

No call recording or anything like.that yet.
S-off let's you downgrade period. Without s-off you cant downgrade at all. Also, the RUU includes hboot so you can just flash the RUU and it will take you from any mess of kernels hboot recoveries etc to bone stock

Bog standard un-moded rooted EU ICS 3VO rom available?

Hi guys, I've tried many ICS roms here but unfortunately everyone has bugs and problems...
Is there a bog standard rooted 3VO EU ICS rom here to download without any modifications? Just a plain rooted OTA ICS rom?
Also where can I download old PG86IMG.ZIP radios for the 3VO, radios from gingerbread days? I've noriced a big drop in signal strength and stability with the new radios floating around since ICS came along...
This section is for development. If you had looked, one of the stickys is
[Tutorial - How to revert back to Original ROM for backup or warranty purposes]
Which shows you how to revert. You can then OTA update. Please post in the relevant section next time.
Thanks for the info but you haven't even tried to answer my question.. I know about HTC standard OTA updating....I don't want an un-rooted OTA update.
I'm asking if there is a Bog standard un-moded rooted EU ICS 3VO rom available to download here in XDA?
I'm surprised if there isn't because that's the standard first thing devs release....
There are tens of different moded ICS roms to try in XDA, everyone with individual mods and many bugs... Im looking for a Bog standard un-moded rooted EU ICS 3VO rom
oquestions in development thread are not allowed. REPORTED.
Thanks for that Mr Bavaria goosewalk

1. Wrong section.
2. I will try to answer your question anyway
You can root the OTA ICS rom yourself.
1. Install it
2. Unlock bootloader
3. Install custom recovery
4. Install SU 3.x.x via recovery
Voila, you're rooted.
There is a thread with all stock roms. It also has the RUU for ICS.
The problem you're having in signal strenght is not something I can comply, so I cannot agree with that. I have used all (yes...seriously, I've tried them all ) ICS Roms here and no signal strenght issues whatsoever.
The GB radio's... there is a thread also that has all ROM's , Kernels and firmware's listed. It's a sticky, so easy to find.
Not that I don't want to provide any links, it's just that I am really lazy today
edit: holy crap you guys are fast.
@e3d, thanks for the report

Great Thanks, real help some useful tips.
Is the RUU for ICS rooted?
I can't keep up with all the different threads here so I'm forced to ask sometimes. That's what forums are for...
e3d certainly has his finger ready on the button....
Why don't you just revert to stock ics, and root your self, ? ? If you have any problems is be happy to do it, create a nand and ul to my drop box

No, you need to flash the superuser.zip through recovery.
Also, there is a Q&A forum. Please use it.

Thanks, but I was hoping to just download a rooted stock ICS here in XDA and install it, no such luck it seems.
I dont want to revert back to stock and stock Hboot just to be able to download an htc OTA, I'm on S-OFF

Because of leaks, thanks to mdeejay, development was instant so when ruu was released the devs were ahead of the game, and the need for a stock but rooted Rom wasn't really necessary for ics, if you wanted gb its in here somewhere, you could revert to that, then update to ics ota, and then re flash recovery and in root, after unlocking the boot loader

Why do you want to install a stock (non-optimized rom)? when you can install mwakious rom, for me is the best one, no bug whatsoever, very fast and very stable. Just try it.:fingers-crossed:
I've used makios's rom more than others and also in my opinion the best out of all the moded ICS roms.
But it also has some bugs in sense apps, such as sense mail and friends and facebook and wifi connection is effected by these bugs.
Anyway the mwakious thread is the place to talk about that...
I'm still downloading the RUU_SHOOTER_U_ICS_35_S_HTC_Europe_3.28.401 .1_Radio_11.7...its a slow file server

I finished downloading RUU_SHOOTER_U_ICS_35_S_HTC_Europe_3.28.40 1 .1_Radio_11.7...
Unfortunately I see its an official HTC update, its going to revert everything back to stock including hboot....not what I was looking for
So theres no rooted stock ICS rom anywhere to download..?
