i flashed my phone with xperia S with cm9 a few days back, after some random boots it the mobile network used to go off " no service"...so i tried restoring back using cwm.while restoring it gave me an error "can't mount /data! and can't mount /system!"i made the backup soon after unlocking my boot loader (before installing cm9)...any idea what should i so?
like a douche though i tried updating via the zip method with cm9 again but there is a boot loop at cm9 logo and it doesn't go beyond that....sorry for the noobness...its my first android phone...

Search and download "android commander"
Install it...open..connect your phone to pc. If your phone is rooted...then you already know what is recovery.(Connecting boot to recovery...attach USB..mount data, system partitions.
Open android commander.exe...application manager..uninstall "root uninstaller" OK.
Restart phone.
This should unzfreez those apparently what you freezes.
It this don't help...make FW reinstall.

I prefer the easier way to reinstall the firmware
coz i dont think that unistalling the (root unistaller) will solve the problem i think rename the name of the servise to freeze it
i found that.... how to boot into recovery mode? theunlockr.com/2010/04/26/how-to-load-a-custom-rom-on-the-htc-mytouch-3g/

There is high chances of a system file being corrupted. Use flashtool to flash ftf fw. Then install any pre rooted kernel through command prompt using fastboot method.

I forgot to tell, I cant enter fastboot mode... Phone keeps turning on after blue LED comes up,and somehow I can flash dualcore rom somehow... Only that rom but without kernel ofcourse

Hi,
As of yesterday, just out of nowhere, my Xpiria mini started randomly rebooting itself in a loop...at first it happened once every few hours and then the phone went back to normal, but now it just happens non-stop, and i can't use the phone at all!
some background:
my phone was rooted and the bootloader unlocked, as a result of solving an overheating issue a few months ago..
so, at first i thought that maybe upgrading the software will solve the rebooting problem, but i couldn't install the upgrade version...i guess because i already messed with the phone in the past it won't let me upgrade it in a "normal" way (tried via pc-companion and via the phone itself).
anyway, i guess i have 2 questions...1. how do i solve the rebooting problem? 2. how do i upgrade the software?
(i don't know much about phones etc, so if you could give me a detailed step-by-step explanation it would be great, and would save many of my stupid questions
please help, my phone is completely useless at the moment...
Use flashtool and flash stock gingerbread or ics firmware. Take a look at the stickies for the firmware and guide about how to do it.

Did everything the guides said, upgraded to ICS which works great, with one "little" problem- the phone only works when connected to charger/pc...
the moment i disconnect it (even when fully charged) the screen goes black and nothing works...it vibrates once when pressing the power button, like it's turning on, but nothing happens...

Wiping dalvik cache won't help, it does nothing, because dalvik cache will be rebuilt on every reboot anyway :good:
So is there any chance solving this or the phone is dead?? :crying:

So you are on ics right now, but it won't boot? Is there any vibration or nothing? Can you flash a custom kernel and enter cwm? Can you charge it?

RIght now it's on ICS..it works fine, but ONLY when connected to a charger/usb..the moment i disconnect the cable it shuts off and won't boot at all, no vibration or anything...the moment i put the cable back in it starts normally and works well...
Just flash it with flashtool. Ics generic can be used for flash.

already did that...still won't boot unless connected to charger.
Are you really sure the battery is okay? Maybe this is the reason? Because if it's bricked up (it=the battery) you can only boot when the usb cable is inserted and you won't get any other reactions...
Maybe you can try another one from a friend and report?

thanks for the help so far...
So I installed this ROM and tried to update my CWM using this. After I flashed the zip I rebooted my phone and now it won't start. I tried Power + Vol Up but the phone won't respond. I also tried charging, connecting to PC and trying to get into flash mode or fastboot mode but still no response. Help please? :/
@nycdream you realised you flashed an optimus 4x recovery? OP said you must fastboot the kernel inside the rom zip. Ok so you checked that you have proper drivers?

You realy shouldn't flash the zip, fastboot would probably give you an error.
The zip wites to /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 which I don't know what it is for but probably shouldn't be touched.
fastboot had probably give you error

I would think so, not without special equipment and Sony's "bios".
I don't think they can repair such damage at service centers, though you can ask.
I rooted my sony xperia m4 aqua running lollipop and the root worked very nicely, then i install the debloat rom which when I finish flashing somehow don't have root access anymore. Then I don't like it (because its not stable the phone doesn't work or google) anymore and want to go back to my stock rom so I try to open up TWRP recovery so I can use the nandroid backup which I DID DO before this crap happened. so guess what? I don't even have a TWRP recovery any more WWWWWWWWWWWWWTTTTTTTTTTFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM SO PISSED, WHAT DO I DO NOW?????????!!!!!!!! AM I DEAD!!
BECAUSE IF my parents find out that it's broken I WILL BE :crying: i am actually crying right now. But I am thinking that if I take it to the shop will they fix it? because root access has been removed, so how will they know. Is there the tiniest bit of hope?:crying:
please reply ASAP this is real real urgent NOW
