I'm having issues after updating to latest Stock Vodafone Australia Firmware PDA:I9300TDUBLH1 CSC:I9300TVAUBLH1.
I cannot re-root SGS3 using CF Root 6.4. It doesn't install the SU binaries nor CWM, but on Odin it shows success patching the CF root 6.4 tar file.
My flash count goes up by 1, seen from download mode screen, but do not see any warning symbol at boot.
No CWM or Superuser installed. All rooted programs complain cannot access root.
Need some help here. Anyone else got their's working? No mention of anything on XDA that it doesn't work with LH1.
I used to have I9300TDUBLF2, and it works perfectly fine before flashing to the latest I9300TDUBLH1 yesterday. Some pointers please.
Hey, this might be pointing out the obvious, like restarting the computer. But are you sure you unzipped the ZIP to a TAR file, or put the TAR file in some other place other than the PDA section in ODIN, or ticked re-partition. But probably not seeings most of those would brick your phone. I got the update to the same firmare and rooting worked perfectly, if not better.
Possibly, you may have to wait till 4.1.1 comes out (said to be tomorrow 29th August), install it, and root when the com has discovered how to
Another chance could be the version of Odin you are running
Hi!
Just try again.
Had to install a couple of times before it worked.
The problem is also explained in the CF root thread.
I am on vodafone AUS as well and I am having the same problem with multiple attempts using CF-Root. I am wondering the the S3 toolkit v5 will work instead?
Thanks

Hey,so i had rooted my sgs2 4.0.3 build XWLP7 via Cf root 5.4 but there's NO BUSY BOX,and all tha apps say i have NO ROOT ACCESS.
What i did was i went to download mode, started odin, put in the cf root file as pda and started it.Everything happened fine. Then i started super one click v 2.3.3 and when i pressed root,it said IT APPEARS YOUR PHONE IS ALREADY ROOTED. i continued anyways and it finished it. then the phone asked me for superuser permission and i granted it. I also flashed the Resurrection remix 2.3.5 and it worked fine. The problem is,none of the root apps work,no titanium backup,no my backup pro.then i got some root checker apps from the market and they all said I HAVE NO ROOT ACCESS and BUSYBOX is not installed. i tried to install busybox via a different route but it also said No Root. Despite all this i am able to use the CWM mode, recovery mode, and the yellow trianglel appears on booting.
Can anyone please tell me where i went wrong, and now what can i do to correct it ?
Thakns in advance
Flash the CFRoot kernel again in the first instance. If that doesn't work, maybe try flashing the other LP7 CFRoot kernel (there's 2 in the thread).
Thanks !

I did try flashing it again via cf root, that didnt work. Finally i put a file which i got from some post here, that installs both superuser and busy bix,and installed it through recovery. And that Worked ! im so glad my phone is finally, and Safely rooted now
Next time
Next time don't use superoneclick. CF Root should work just fine.
Had my S3 for a couple of months and had it rooted within the day I purchased it, ICS 4.0.4 using the ODIN CF-Root 6.4.
As it has been mentioned several times in the last few days the UK users have had a large update (mine was 79meg) to remove certain features.
Many people complained that the OTA update failed them and had to use Kies to do it however my OTA installed and worked perfectly however I lost root on my device, no biggy though I, I simply fired up ODIN and redid the root precedure..
Everything went fine except I no long have root, the 'about' on the phone lists me as 'modified' and I downloaded the updates for SuperSU but nothing seems to work anymore, no root required programmes ask super SU for root and its list is clear.
I have tried to uninstall the root required programmes (setCPU, titanium etc) but they instist I dont have root.
The only clue I can find is that CWM now errors telling me that the kernal is different and I need at least CF-ROOT 5.0 or better (when I am using 6.4)
Has anyone else come accross this problem, or is there a better root work around out there, do i need to put a different kernal version on the phone first?
Im not a total root newbie (long live the advent vega) but this one seems beyond me.
Have you tried using mskips Galaxy S3 Toolkit from the development section?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
I would redownload CFRoot from Chainfires thread and install .

Already downloaded a slughtly different version number and retried to no avail.
Will try a re root later to see if that sticks if not will try the other method...
Damn you work getting in the way.
I downloaded the full ROM from Sammobile, flashed using Mobile Odin and reapplied 6.4 with no problems.
Has not increased the counter, all official and Normal in settings.

Hi guys. I have a Samsung Galaxy s3 GT-i9300 running 4.1.1 Baseband 19300XXDLIB.
I have been trying and trying and trying for the last few days to root my mobile. I take care following all of the steps and I have tried every type of root program and files I think are available but even though they download to the phone and reboot into their custom recovery, then install the files needed to root, none of them have worked!!
It's strange because the phone is just unrootable it seems. I have tried several versions of Odin. I've tried what should be 1 click rooters but nothing works! The most recent files I have used to download to my phone via Odin were CF-Auto-Root-m0-gti9300, CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4, SuperOneClickv2.2-ShortFuse, SuperOneClickv2.3.1-ShortFuse and SuperOneClickv2.3.3-ShortFuse all of which have been recommended to me and I have strictly followed YouTube videos and written guides. I don't think I am doing anything wrong yet I still have no root access. The last root I tried installed a CWM app (I know it stands for Clock Work Mod but not sure what I am supposed to do with it) but not SuperSU which is supposed to come with it.
Please can someone help? I'm tearing my hair out here!
I should probably point out I am not using the stock ROM as I did manage to brick my phone at one point and had to install another firmware, although I would like to go back to my original firmware yet I am not sure what it was...is it possible to figure out what the stock firmware should be? The phone is unbranded from the UK.
Many thanks

No you can only guess .
TO ROOT .
Factory reset the phone and install CF root 6.4 via Odin .
But its really pointless rooting when you don't have a clue as to why or what .

May also be because your computer hasn't been installed with the samsung drivers yet? Kies i think it's called..
Have you tried downloading supersu from the play store? And be sure to not try superuser but supersu.
I had the same thing with cf-autoroot. supersu wasn't there and I didn't have root. Tried several times, never worked. After that I tried rooting with the old cf-root that also installs cwm recovery. Recovery was there but no supersu and the phone didn't get root. Tried that several times too but that didn't help either, although that is how I rooted my phone successfully right after I had bought it. Went back to cf-autoroot, same result, no root. But as soon as I downloaded the app supersu manually and updated the binarys as it tells you to at first start, I had root.

Kies is not required (and its junkie bloatware that doesn't properly clean itself up on uninstall anyway)
Windows can pull the drivers from WU.
You Sir, are a legend! Thank you very much, you have sorted my problem I had SuperUser instead of SuperSU like you stated. Who would've thought it'd be so easy to fix?

You should probably not just imagine that just because someone has a problem that they don't have a clue what they are doing. I have done this numerous amounts of times with several phones, my Samsung was just slightly more difficult since I had made an easy mistake by not taking note of my original firmware and by not realizing that I needed SuperSU and not SuperUser (which I'm sure is a common and easy mistake).
Try next time not to put a fellow site member down.

Hi,
I have tried rooting my SGS3 after updating to 4.1.2.
I am flashing CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4 via ODIN. It says everything has completing successfully and the square turns green....no errors etc.
When i got to the menu, SuperSU is not present. Apps are not able to get root permissions. CWM is installed however.
Has anyone experience this before? Any suggestions?
Thanks.
try cf-autoroot cos i believe the cf-root is not supported anymore.

It can take multiple attempts for the root to kick in. If you don't see the CF-Root script kick in after using ODIN you need to try again.
The other option is to use the Exynos 4 root exploit APK.
It works for me ive done it 3 times. on 4.1.2 xxelkc
dont try exynos exploit or whatever may break your camera
CF Root 6.4 works .

I was trying to root my sisters S3 i9300, until the Auto Rooting App i used, didn't work and changed the kernel(without root access available ) and now whenever i try other rooting apps it doesn't work. I think its because of the kernel change it wont let me root. So someone told me to "Get back a stable system by flashing latest firmware by Odin. If it boots normally, use cf-auto-root (by Odin, too). ".
I got ODIN 3.10.6.
Problem:How to flash latest stock S3 i9300 firmware(link would be appreciated) by ODIN?
How to then use CF Auto Root, to root my device?
A video or clearly detailed written tut would be awesome
I know is quite noobish question but YOLO?
