Did u tried this app,,https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.privacy.pdroid
I‘m not sure that it can hide IP but it can block many thing.. take a look at this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.privacy.pdroid

try openvpn or droidvpn or hostpot shield
it is available in the play store and best of all it is free
it hides your ip by using a foreign ip. it also compresses data to increase browsing speed and decrease data consumption.
however it depends on how you set things up or on what config you use.

Nice work......any other app

Need an App that Storess Private Info

can any of you recoomend an app that stores all my banking and private info and passwords on?
I use Password Safe by Jeff Harris. It is in the market. There is a PC version as well and you can use the same database for both. I have been using the PC version for years.

Try keepass. Works for all sorts of private info. It uses very well respected encryption, is open source and is free as in beer, and clients exist for almost every platform. If you keep your db in your dropbox you can have your passwords and data everywhere.

Ppease help : Proxy support

I have tried almost every paid and free apps available on market for android proxy support. However, no luck with this. Is anybody aware of any app or method which can make proxy based apn settings usable by gtalk or gmail or any other app on our beloved ace.
My bf is using an iphone and his phone allows him to use proxy. I want to show him that android is not less than iphone. Please help me guys.
Many many thanks in advance.

You can find the proxy APN settings for your device in the help section of your mobile network website and you can find out the proxy settings for Gmail in the same area of that website.
I don't understand what you hope to achieve by using proxy settings though as it's only a back up if the main server is overloaded and all phones switch to them automatically whether they are stored on your phone or not.
Proxy setting's are nothing to do with the type of phone you have just how information is passed to your device over the network. An overpriced inferior iphone receives the info in exactly the same way as you do.
Thanks cooltt..Actually my problem is - I have already got the proxy apn settings from my network provider. Now the pain begins here, apps are not able to connect to net using this apn. However, browser can.
Any idea why? and how can this be resolved ?
Thanks.
Ah you haven't realised the following:
Apps require a 3G network to connect to the net but mms and some old type email accounts only require APN settings over a 2G network.
However since 2G or WAP is old technology all of our mobile networks have switched to 3G for anything other than phone calls. It has many advantages such as quicker connection, quick large data transfer for emails etc..and of course more money for the mobile networks!
I don't know of any apps that are written to use APN settings it's just old school and technology only moves forward.
Try this:
Send a picture message with just 2G activated, i bet you can't send it until 3G is activated. That means that although you have the APN settings in your phone the network detects you have a smart phone and will only accept the data over a 3G network.
4G is just around the corner APN is old old !
I was such a noob without this info. Thanks once again cooltt.
It means all those threads asking google for proxy support in android are noobs just like me ?
For proxy.. i'd recommend proxy droid. It worked like a charm on my phone.. not only built in browser, but also other apps.

Let me describe my problem in detail.
I have got 2.3.6 singapore stock rom.
Cf-root kernel b82
Now, the apn settings provided by my service provider contains proxy add and port.
When i use dolphin browser to browse internet, it works fine. But, the other apps do not work. Always the same error network unreachable. About the internet speed its reasonable.
I tried asproxy, autoproxy and proxydroid by entering the same proxy add and port as given in the apn settings by service provider. No matter what, apps like gtalk, gmail, market, tapatalk fail to connect. However, the browser works good everytime.
No idea how to resolve this but am ready to give anything to get this thing working on my ace.

In a nutshell, you'd just need a proxy server, and a host name, and that's most of it.
Secondly, there's not much of a point comparing those overpriced menaces, and any android devices, so lets chuck that.
And lastly, there's not much of a point, considering that we aren't stuck in china, and behind that golden firewall. #shudders# Our government's not going to try monitor Facebook, like they said. Bah, kapil.
And again, here are the proxy settings.
Host name:
Port:
Proxy type: (Http)
Just Google a few servers, they never cease to work -__-
Nothing is working here guys..
With due respect to all...I would say please help with a step by step guide if u hv already got it to work. Else forever hold ur silence..am to loose my virginity, just because of it, tomorrow.

Try bobsled calling from the play store
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA
Does bobsled allow you to make free phone calls over wifi/ data? I checked it on playstore and web but it doesn't say much about calling, it's more about texts (which people are complaining that it's not free) ?

Viber? I use it for calling a lot
Plus it's absolutely free.

Well, I don't know what that means, but...
GrooVe IP + Google Voice
If you already have a GV number, then just install GrooVe IP. If GrooVe IP hasn't fixed the "keep WiFi on" issue yet, then you can solve that with Advanced Wifi Lock. I also use Llama to manage WiFi, because the battery will drain very fast if you keep WiFi on.
Thanks to all and especially MechMan! I got groove IP happening! Would love to stay n chat but I gotta go dig into all my new settings

If you want to effectively hide IP address on iPhone or Android, then you need to sign up for a VPN service.
hideman
This is by far the best IP hiding app it also has the best speed
That's the link hmn.me/0
Trust me I've tried out a lot of them
Good luck
Sam
