Hi guys, I’m sorry if I post this in the wrong section (I’m new in this forum).
I'm having a problem with my RAZR xt910 651.167.21.xt910.retail.en.EU GB 2.3.6 (rooted) , I bought it a month ago and it was working very good, there was nothing wrong with it. But some days ago it turned off by itself (having 80% battery) and I couldn't turn it on. So I plugged in the battery charger (AC) and it showed me that I got 5% battery :s. But when I turned it on, it showed me 76% battery and my SIM card wasn't recognized (But everything else worked fine). Then I went to the Settings menu > About phone and it shows the Baseband unknown and in "Status" it shows Network unknown, Mobile network type Unknown, IMEI Unknown and IMEI SV Unknown.
I flashed it several times with different fastboot files from this site sbf.droid-dev...spyder/list.php but it didn't help. I attached a picture of the Status menu.
Please help me! I found no solution to this problem : / I will be very thankful!!!
PS: the Wi-Fi stopped working, it just tries to connect, but it doesn't.
It just says that your device has a problematic radio.
Use warranty.

Thanks for the answer!
But is there nothing else I could do?... like, delete all system data and reflash with other ROM or something like that?...
I saw that some Galaxy SII or SIII had a similar problem and there is a FIX for it. Couldn't I use that for my phone? :s
Yes. Flash a firmware on it because this 76% of battery u said indicates that ur system isn't a sotck rom but a modded and bugged one.
Flash any official rom tp your razr model/region.
Its a software problem I think.
Here you'll find all u need

thanks for the response, but I'm afraid that's not it. Because i flashed other sbf (official) files and it sill doesn't work! I contacted with the Motorola support, and they can't give me an exact answer for my problem!
I think I'm the one which such a bad luck, because I searched for the solution so much and found nothing :/ only for SII and SIII : /

i will be very thankful to u.........
Hi!
Since you are new here, it might be the best time for you to read the forum rules just to get you informed.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?a=81 check it out!
1. try inserting your sim in another phone, if you find a signal in the other phone, then there might be something wrong with the s2..
if there is still no signal, then it is a network related problem and call your network operator
2. if you find a signal in the other phone and not in your s2, then you must flash a modem..
DEFINITION:
*Modem/Radio/Baseband is all the same thing and can be seen by going to Settings - About Phone - Baseband. It's basically a driver which receives and sends Mobile Network signals as well as handling switching between GPRS, 3G, HSDPA etc....... (but not WiFi connection, that and switchover between Mobile Network and WiFi is handled by the kernel). Reasoning as to why Modem has no influence on WiFi can be found in this post by Entropy - http://<b>http://forum.xda-developer...count=6556</b>
USAGE:
*There is no one "Best" modem for everybody. Unfortunately you actually have to try to find the modem which works perfectly for you on performance, strength and battery drain levels. The good thing is that from my lengthy 8 month experience with Galaxy S2, I'm happy to report that there are a few modems that seem to perform well geographically for most users. These modems are KE7, KH3, KI3, KI4, KL1, LPS, NEKF2, NELP2 & NELP3.
COMPATIBILITY:
*Modems do not need to be matched up with firmware like it's done with ROMs and Kernels. For example, a KI4 modem can be used with a KL1 ROM and the other way round. The only thing you need to pay attention to is what model your SGS2 is. 9100 and 9100 modems are compatible across both models. However, 9100 model and US variants are not cross compatible since the devices are designed to work on different bands.
INSTALLATION:
*I will add a flashing guide to post number 5 soon, hence why it says "Work in progress.....". For the moment I suggest asking Mr. Google to do a search for you. Bottom line is, for CWM packaged modems you need to be rooted and have a working CWM recovery (flash the CWM modem zip within recovery). For .TAR packages, all you need to do is flash it while your device is in Download Mode and connected to ODIN. The .TAR file should be selected in the PHONE field. Don't touch anything else.

Hi there,
problem as follows: I got a I9300 (pre-rootet and with some kind of chinese custom rom based on 4.0.4). I did not put in my simcard, but flashed it straight away with a 4.1.1 custom rom, and did the efs backup.
However, once I put in my simcard it shows no service. I have tried several roms and just restored stock recovery and stock firmware 4.1.1 but nothing has changed.
i have checked this threat http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1080076 and others, but still my phone is not having service.
I don't think that my efs partition is corrupted since when I type in those keycodes it still shows my imei. also I did a restore of my backed up efs.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!

It looks like what I am looking for. However, I cannot find the files they are using
I'll keep looking... thanks
Update:
I have asked the person who gave the phone to me, and apparently it was a parallel import to china. However, I have no idea where it is from originally.
I have tried flashing a couple of different stock roms, but without success.
I have also tried to flash the chinese rom from the suggested thread, but it keeps failing when it comes to the part where it wants to install the modem.
Does anyone have an idea how to find out the origin of the phone?
I have tried Kies, entering the model number and serial, but kies does not accept the serial.
My last hope would be that I can find out which market it is from, then flash back the original stock firmware?
Any other ideas why it might show no service?
IMEI is shown, so I think efs partiotion should be still ok, right?
I'd really appreciate any help and suggestions. I am out of ideas...
Thanks
There is some issue with your efs or modem.

IMEI is shown as on sticker.
I have no idea where the phone is originally from - I have contacted Samsung but they were not willing to help- they say it has not been bought in NZ so they cannot help me here. Hence I dont know which modem would be the correct one. I have tried a couple of different ones, but none seems to be working.
Sim is ok, also tried like 5 other sim cards.

That's what I read in other forums now as well.
The error seems to be common after unlocking with boxes.
So I suspect that someone unlocked the phone, which messed up the efs folder. The backup I made when I received phone, must already be faulty.
I also noticed that the SN in the phone settings shows up as a different number than the one on the sticker.
I guess I have to find someone with those 'boxes" who knows what he is doing Any suggestions for Auckland, NZ?
I have been to like 5 shops but noone could help so far... THANKS

Thanks, I had tried that. Kies doesn't recognize the SN. Strangely enough SN in settings and SN on sticker are not the same. I really think seller screwed with the efs partition.
Was it working with the original Rom?
From my reading of your posts you have not changed the modem or csc that it came with?
Perhaps if you tried a 4.0.4 Rom again you might have some luck given it was probably working when you received it.
The different serial numbers are suspicious though. Presumably the one on the sticker is the correct one. Would Samsung not be able to identify the phone by the SN and tell you what the original firmware is?

When I received the phone it was not working. Hence I installed stock rom. I also tried flashing different modems, but nothing helped.
I contacted Samsung service and they said they wouldn't be able to help me because I did not purchase the phone in the country where I live in, and also cannot give me any information about where the phone was originally from.
It possible that is an imei block. If the phone is sold with a subscription and the owner sell it to an other prson without paying anymore the taxes for the phone the operator is able to block your phone using the imei.

As bought origins unknown .
Non working may be faulty and not fixable .
May have been as said blocked as its a stolen phone .
If it is I9300 then i would be flashing stock ICS firmware with modem and CSC for the country/network you are trying to use the phone on .At least then after a successful flash their can only be two reasons for not working phone hardware or IMEI .

IMEI is ok. I also called my network provider to check if IMEI is blacklisted in my country, but say also say it's not blacklisted.
Someone told me (and I also read it on other forums) that this often happens after unlocks, which are actually not successfully finished.
I will meet him tomorrow and will post an update.
Thanks for the suggestions and help so far.
Ok last update:
Indeed the phone is unlocked and something went wrong with it. Apparently, it is a common thing that the IMEI changes during unlock and then has to be restored, which often causes that problem.
The guy who helped me got it fixed. Only problem is now that I cannot flash the modem file. So have to stick with roms which come without modem. Also it seems that some are incompatible with the 'old'modem
Right now I am using AOKP and everything is working.
Thanks again for all the help and suggestions!
Hi guys,

i do nothing, my phone is genuine...i didn't try to change rom or to do something...the problem is appared suddenly.
How can i fix the problem? imei code is intact and my telephone operator didn't block my phone or imei...
i know that in this forum there are some topics about this problem, but it is very difficult for me find them...

Look for the serial, if it starts with 00000 or something like that, you nees to use Ariza Patch.

...my wife had this problem last week. Phone was saying that it was not registered on Network. Looked around on the net, checked settings on phone and found that if you turn the phone off for a few minutes and back on, it re-registered to the network. Very basic, don't know why it did it, but it's now OK

In brief, I had recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S II i9100 from overseas, but as i was overseas I had no sim card and the phone was in aeroplane mode for about a month and a half. while overseas I had flashed many kernels and ROMs, but when I arrived home a few days ago, I had realised my phone wasn't receiving service or reception. at the time I was running a carbon ROM nightly (android 4.3.1), now I have switched over to beanstalk 4.4.2, and I am receiving the same issue, and when I try to flash a different modem/radio in CWM, it always appears with either "error with zip" or "status 7".
When I type *#*#4643#*#* and try to turn the radio on and off, the radio does not turn on or off!
Also; sometimes after boot the carrier name would show up as "YES OPTUS" but no reception, and when I try to make calls its either "please "Turn aeroplane mode off" or "Network is unavailable"
I have changed my sim card with a new one and had fully recharged it too, but on other phones it works, on mine it does not.
so my questions are:
1) What would be the cause of the issue?
2) What would be the best way to solve it?
3) Could it be because i bought it from another country?
4) Could it be a hardware problem?
Phone Specs:
BaseBand version : I9100XXLPW
Android Version : 4.4.2
CWM : v6.0.4.5
Beanstalk Version : Beanstalk-4.4.200-20131222-i9100
Thanks in advance for anyone with any help !!!
And sorry again for the newbiness...this is my first post in my life so you may understand the confusion
Good Day!

Sorry had to explain that of course.
Go to settings - about phone - status and look for IMEI.
If it's empty or showing 004999010640000 it's wrong and restore your EFS back-up or go to the thread to try recover your IMEI and hope it helps.

Official firmware Post 2 is the guide and post 3 are the official firmwares. Look what firmware you need and google for a download link.
You do all the steps before flashing a new rom? Wiping and formatting data, caches and system?
