Flashing the Latest CWM for Galaxy Note AT&T? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Well I want to do just that, flash the latest CWM version. I currently have 5.5.0.4 installed. I installed it using Odin. Where can I get the latest CWM for the Note in a TAR format so that I can flash it?
Thank you.

I had touch CWM but went with TWRP, whatever you chose, read the details of the OPs.

The version you already have works fine. What will you get with the new version?

Agreed,
Some users have reported problems using CWM versions above that of the root version.
I cant confirm this, but I agree with ranger on the current CWM version.
Nothing is gained but a higher number when looking to flash a newer version.
to my knowledge, no bugs are present in the root version....g

I ended up going with the new TWRP 2.2.2.0. I was trying to install Jamie D's build. Thanks!!

Yeah, just unlock your bootloader and flash a custom recovery. I recommend TWRP since it's more touch orientated (designed better) than ClockworkMod. Then download a ROM and follow instructions.
For those that have flashed Int. ROMs and have TWRP, did you use dumlock or flash the boot.img in fastboot? If anyone has used dumlock, can you write up how you used to get a good flash? I am coming from Sammy, so all of this is very new to me and I am trying to learn as much as I can. Thanks.

So you just flashed in recovery like normal? Nothing else?
This phone is super confusing, keep reading about flashing a boot.img before flashing a ROM or using dumlock. Can not find a straight answer to what I need to do to go from rooted stock to a ROM.

As usual HTC left off some security on the released version of this phone's HBOOT.
The One X on AT&T was like this too when it first came out. We could even flash RADIOS on that thing.
I am pretty sure the discovery that you can flash boot.img from recovery is pretty new.

[REQ] Clockworkmod Touch Recovery 6.0.4.3 CWM Zip

Requesting that someone make a flashable zip from the newest CWM Touch Image, especially as new 4.4 KitKat ROMs are requiring CWM-based recoveries.
I understand that this can be accomplished through ROM Manager (but I'm getting a download error) or through fast-boot/adb (which I admittedly don't have the time, patience or complete understanding to do) so if someone had time to make a flashable zip, I'd imagine that'd benefit the community greatly.
There is an older version here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1584576) but OP is no longer updating or supporting.
Will attach the IMG below. Thank you.

I haven't flashed a cwm zip, I just use rom manager to install it. But I've gone back and forth a few times recently with no problems. Just messing around the other day I installed a 4.4 and set it up and then flashed twrp and backed up the 4.4. Wiped the phone went back to a 4.3 and then restored the 4.4 nandroid with twrp without any troubles. Apparently it's the initial install that you need cwm for, but caution is advised for now as the next time it may not work. I was bored and just messing around. As always YMMV!

I believe that you need to get the .img file and change it into a .img.tar file to flash it in odin.

I had made my own cwm touch flash zip as others have instructed. You just flash it with twrp if that's what using and use twrp to reboot to recovery to see the newly flashed cwm touch recovery. Vice versa for installing twrp again. However; just remember, backups can only be restored from recovery they were made with.

[Q] Rooting Android 4.1.2

Would just like to confirm before i proceed as i do not want to brick my phone.
Since I'm running i9300 stock android 4.1.2, is it safe to root using the method found here?
Since recovery won't be installed, i am unable to find an odin flashable cwm 6.0.4.x which is required for kitkat roms.
There is twrp 2.6.3.0 here, but i'm unfamiliar with it and the version needed to flash kitkat roms.
Any help would be appreciated as search/stickies did not help.

search in the twrp thread with the keyword "cm11" and you'll find the answer:
in short you do not need the version in the op but from the main website and in the thread is a link to it. but better look yourself
if you are unsure ask in the thread, which roms are flashable through twrp and which one causes problems

For anyone interested:
Yes you can use cf auto root in the op link to root jb 4.1.2
For Recovery:
CWM: You have to flash via odin cwm 6.0.3.2 then install the 6.0.4.4 zip via recovery
TWRP: odin flashable twrp 2.6.3.1(required for kitkat) is available on the twrp website.
Philz: odin flashable zip can be found in this thread. Not sure about kitkat compatibility tho.

I am not able to root my i9300 on stock ROM 4.3

Hello,
I bought my SGS3 more than a year ago. It came with 4.0.4 (ICS), I inmediately changed the ROM to have a pure Samsung one (I live in Mexico, so I wanted to get rid of the TELCEL ROM). After some months I changed the ROM to Jelly 4.1.2 and I kept the phone with it.
I always have rooted my phone without any issues, in order to be able to make backups with "titanium backup" app, so everytime I change the ROM....I do first a backup and then I flashed, so I have to be able to root the phone in the next ROM.
I read about the 4.3 release in October 2012, but after a week I read that too many issues were going on.....so I decided to wait.
So finally, I saw XXUGMK6 from "samsung-updates.com" page and I downloaded it.
I researched a little bit about the official ROM and the version XXUGMK7 was released then, so I decided to change it with this version.
Once I flashed the phone with this ROM everything looked fine, so I proceed to "root" it using ChainFire procedure (CF-Auto-root), but I have not been able to do it!!
I already read a lot of threads looking for solutions, I followed the indications..........but it is not rooted.
I got the right Odin Version, the right ZIP for rooting (CF-Auto-Root-m0-m0xx-gti9300.zip)........followed the OP by ChainFire.....but it does not work.
So.....I humbly ask for help, I really do not want to go back on 4.1.2 because not been succesfull in rooting.
Regards,
Guile

latest cwm update

When I first bought the nook tablet I rooted it and put CM7 on there. Everything has been fine and it works as expected but I want to upgrade to CM11 and it requires a higher version of clockworkmod. Everywhere I've looked are just guides and downloads for installing cwm from scratch. Does any one have a link or can point me to where I can get a zip file that can be flashed by an older version of cwm to update it to the new one?
You can find a flashable zip for Chris Hoffman's CWM 6.0.4.5+ at https://www.mediafire.com/folder/xjwc1a482a6ll/Nook_Tablet.
