Hello,
I recently bought a Docomo Galaxy S3 (sc-06d), sim unlocked. I gained access to root.
I am using an Iphone 4 from Softbank.
When I put my (black) sim card in the galaxy, the phone and sms are working correctly.
What I am struggling with is MMS and EMAIL to my @softbank.ne.jp
I think I correctly entered the APN settings (smileworld), BUT I feel it's really slow (much, much slower than on my iphone).
I tried some mms.apk that I found, but it was either not working, either mms were working but not computer mails. (I could receive mms from mail adress like @softbank.ne.jp, but when I got an email from a gmail adress, I couldnt see the contents)
Help please!
Please i need help
Is your phone covered by this forum. Its not a I9300 International is it .

I cannot send MMS neither.
Docomo seems to remove MMS capability from the framework, as indicated in this webpage.

Yes it is possible! If you used to be a cdma customer and migrated over to HSPA you might need a bit of work done by tech support, but you need to enter the right settings in the APN...

I've done some searching and didn't happen to run across anyone that was having a similar problem. Originally, I thought this might be a StraightTalk/Verizon issue, but I've confirmed that one of my family members with ST T-Mobile can text with Verizon folks just fine. So let me dive into the details...
I've had my StraightTalk T-Mobile sim card for about a week now. I activated it without any problems, set up the APN and everything seemed to be working just fine. I've been texting with a few family members and some co-workers without issues. My data and voice calls are all working fine as well.
I went to text a friend that has Verizon post paid service and he never got my text. So I sent a few more without success, then tried to text my own Verizon number (since my account is still active for the moment) and I never received my own text either. He sent me a text message that I received just fine though, but again he didn't get my response. Just to further test, I send an MMS message to myself and my friend on Verizon and that came through just fine, so it appears that all texting capabilities work with the following carriers (AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, ST T-Mobile) with the exception of regular SMS to Verizon.
Here are my APN settings:

About the phone... I purchased an AT&T Note (sgh-i717) and unlocked it myself. The unlock was successful but I was only getting edge data since T-Mobile has re-farmed the towers in my area yet. So, I installed CWM and flashed the Blaze4G radios. I'm now getting consistent signal and H+ speed (4-8 mbps avg, 14 mbps peak). The only other thing I had to change was that my phone number wasn't showing up in the About Phone -> Status section, so I went into the dialer -> Settings -> Additional Settings -> My Phone Number and set it there in the format of xxx-xxx-xxxx. I also just flashed the T-Mobile VKL1 radio as well but no change in my sms issue.
I'm a bit lost at this point on why everything else would work except for sending sms to Verizon but yet I can receive them from Verizon just fine. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Texts aren't immediate when the network is busy. Sometimes the delay can be several hours.
None of my Verizon messages are ever delivered, some from 3-4 days ago. I called Straight Talk tech support and they are tracing some of my messages. One of the things they thing might be wrong is the message center number that is configured in my phone but they didn't want to change it until after they could do further research.
Update: Confirmed the smsc is correct, so that doesn't appear to be the issue.
Just a follow up in case anyone else ever had an issue similar... a T-Mobile technician called me today, they found out Verizon had blocked my cell phone number from their network. After the tech got the ban lifted, texting is working just fine.

Hi, I have a Stock T-Mobile HTC One with no Root using the stock APN below
APN: fast.t-mobile.com
APN Type: default,supl,admin,hipri
And my speeds on HSPS+ are super slow no more then 3.0MB
But when I'm using this APN settings bellow
APN: epc.t-mobile.com
APN Type: default,supl,admin,mms,hipri
I get 10.0MB UP to 20.MB but wont send any MMS. Has anyone run into similar issues on the HTC One? Is there a fix for MMS.
Thanks

I hope I am not intruding here, but this thread is the closest to what I am looking for (stock) and I figured that any one of you could probably answer this question.
I do not have direct access to the phone and need to pass this on to my son, so please dont skip any steps, assuming knowledge. I have never even held an HTC phone yet. My son absolutely loves it though and has me intrigued. ?
Anyway, he has an "HTC One" that he purchased here in the USA, at a T-Mobile store.
I know that with my Samsung, there is not only the Samsung line name (Note 2), but there is also a specific Model # that Sprint puts into the phone (in my case, SPH-L900). And then, even from there, it divides up further into US & International versions, each with its own model #, even within the same carrier.
I am thinking that maybe it is the same for the HTC One line?
My son looked in the Info" screen, but all it says is "HTC One" and nothing else.
Please, where should he go to find this information?
Or is this not relevant in the HTC world?
He wants to stay with the Factory ROM, but Root it. I know applying the wrong tools can quickly brick a phone.
Can someone help me with this please? Once I have the right tool, then I can take it from there. Thanks!

Tried the epc APN out of curiousity..it was 4G only. I guess if you live in a HSPA or LTE are, the "fast" APN is what you want. I now have a different APN to try though when traveling. This is in the Hampton Roads, VA area

The only other two things I can think of that might work are go into the APN settings and click 'reset to default' reboot and see if it works. And try registering on another carrier in the network operators menu - you should get an error that your SIM isn't supported and then manual re-register on T-Mo.
I finally got sick of having a locked bootloader, so I bought an unlocked Tmobile running nk2, rooted it, and cleaned up the bloatware with Titanium Backup. Now I'm looking at putting together a list of tips for using a G900T on AT&T. I've created the appropriate APN settings. If anyone with experience on this could weigh in with some things I should look out for or do proactively, it would be useful not only to me but to other AT&T users looking to get away from the AT&T locked bootloader. Thanks in advance for any advice.
Working APN settings
Here are the APN settings that are working great for me on AT&T. To set these, go to SETTINGS / MORE NETWORKS / MOBILE NETWORKS/ ACCESS POINT NAMES. Either create a new one using the "+" or edit the one you are using already.

APN: phone

The two items TURN APN ON/OFF: APN turned on and MOBILE VIRTUAL NETWORK OPERATOR VALUE: not set are ghosted out so I was unable to change them. In APN TYPE you should enter the information without any spaces after the commas.
How to root if your Tmobile s5 is already updated to nk2 or nh5
I used the instructions found here and it was super effective:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s5/general/how-to-root-s5-firmware-knox-0x0-t2909352
Note: if you're not familiar with PC Odin, it will be good news to you that you don't have to install it. Just unzip it into a directory with the INI file and run it.
Good Post! I could have used this four months ago when I jumped to AT&T from T-Mo. I have not had any problems. The only thing I can think of is that I disabled wifi calling. I have had good success running international ROMs on it. I'm currently on BobCat Romhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/development/rom-bobcatromevov1-0ota-update-t2836665 ...Excellent...
I'm running Omega on my TMO S5 on AT&T. My APN is a little different but I've also tried the one posted above and get about the same results with either. The only other thing I did was download AT&T's Visual Voice Mail app. It's a great way to handle voicemail messages.
+1121611611 Error 122 Invalid Number
This is a problem that pops up for those of us who have started using a Tmobile s5 on AT&T--you start getting repeated texts that say "+1121611611 Error 122 Invalid Number". The problem appears to be brought about when you use a phone from one carrier on another carrier.
I found a fix for this at http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/help/error-invalid-text-reboot-t2865399
Short version: turn off/disable the visual voicemail app.
Here is the relevant text from that page:
PROBLEM: I recently switched from T-Mobile to AT&T, bringing over my unlocked T-Mobile Galaxy S4 (not rooted, running stock android, got the SIM unlock code from T-Mobile). After fiddling with the APN settings everything seems to be working fine, except every time I reboot I get the following text message:
From: +1121611611
122 Error Invalid Number. Please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code. Activate:dt=15
Any ideas? I first saw this error text the first time I rebooted my phone after switching the SIM card to AT&T, and I get the same text whenever I reboot my phone now.
SOLVED: This was being caused by the T-Mobile Visual Voicemail app. Disabling the app fixed the problem.
Sticky this maybe?
Mods, do you think this is worth getting "sticky" status?

Thanks for the input. Flashing a ROM may be more advanced than I can address here, and may be more advanced than some of the people just looking for a "how do I get this working?" thread.
How to turn off WIFI calling
2.Tap Settings.
3.Scroll to 'NETWORK CONNECTIONS,' then tap More networks.
4.Tap the Wi-Fi Calling Switch to Off.
I also used Titanium Backup to freeze:

T-Mobile TV

I've been my old AT&T SIM carrier on a new TMob S5 for about two weeks -- It's rooted and has Custom Recovery. I froze about 100 Bloats w/ Titanium Backup - installed Wanam to tweak it - and am getting an amazing +/- 0.5%/Hr battery usage on Stock 4.4.2!!! (No gaming or social networking, etc) So, I'm VERY pleased and also chose this route to get away from AT&T's bootloader lock policy.
Only one question: I notice an image of a fliptop phone on my AT&T account page. It used to show a pic of my S3. Is there some file I can edit on the phone to get it to show up as an S5 ? Maybe the build.prop or something?

My AT&T profile also shows a random flip type phone. It must simply be a result of using a non-AT&T phone. I haven't bothered trying to change it.
I'd LOVE to be able to put a caption on the AT&T site with a pic of the S5, something like "TMobile - S5 - Unlocked Bootloader"
(I've got a somewhat sick sense of humor)

I too got tired of the 900A having a locked bootloader. My buddy recently left Tmobile for Verizon so he had 2 S5's lying around gathering dust. Bought them from him. Sold my ATT S5 on ebay and haven't looked back. Actually still have one that I'm not using. If anyone is interested. Was gonna list it on ebay, but would rather have someone who knows the struggle of a locked bootloader get their hands on it.

GEEEEEEEZ -- and I thought the "feature" of having a locked bootloader was to prevent someone from stealing it LOL (That's probably what some folks believe -- that it's a wonderful upgrade to provide more "security" enhancements for your own good . . ., or whatever . . .)
I'm just finding a lot of new "features" and "up" grades annoying . . . and feeling a little crotchety this morning
i just got my mom set up with a moto e. she previously used straight talk at&t on a samsung captivate glide. i switched her over to a micro sim & everything works great except for her mms/picture messages. before i left her house, her calls & regular texts worked. she was able to send me a picture message, but she never received the pictures i tried to send her. so, my question is: does anyone have the correct/working apn settings for straight talk at&t for the moto e 2015?
please & thank you.

thanks, but that was the first place i checked for her. she is still having the issue with mms...
thanks anyway though...
Did you try some other apps like whatsapp?
she's used whatsapp in the past, but mainly for travel, using it to text when she has wifi at a hotel or something. she used to get mms when she used her old phone on st/at&t. my dad has never been able to get them, but he uses a st/tmo sim... i'm just trying to get it to work so she doesn't have to use any type of work around for it. she is currently using the stock messaging app on the moto g... not sure if she should be using hangouts or not?
i don't live with her, so i have been trying to gather a bunch of info & when i see her, test it out.
thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the help. I'll probably see her tomorrow so I will try it then. I've used straight talk on & off for years on about 4 different phones & haven't had this issue, so I'm kinda at a loss. Thanks again for your info.
There was a blurb a while back, when I switched to my Nexus 4 yrs ago that Straight Talk was having issues with new SIM cards on existing plans. Basically the only work around was literally waiting until the next billing cycle date and it magically worked. This affected us that switched from full SIM to micro SIM cards, but besides physical card, everything was the same. I wonder if this is rearing its head again.
Hm, interesting. Could be, I mean, she did just switch Sims... I hope it's not the case, she usually does their 3month plan.
Like I said, this is totally new for me, I've used a galaxy nexus, nexus 4, Samsung Galaxy s 3, & a nexus 5 on straight talk & never had the issue. I just recently got a moto x 2014 & planned on switching back to straight talk today.
I really appreciate everyone's help.
I ditched straight talk for T-Mobile just because of this. Best decision I've made!
Straight talk also has an app on the playstore titled APN settings

This has finally been solved.
SurferNerd, you are right, it has to do with the billing cycle. I have no idea why, but the only thing that worked was when my mom had to reup her plan. Thanks again for all your help.
