Hello. I want to buy a HTC Radar and I want flash custom ROM because I need BT transfer, File Manager and other good stuff. So I must install HSPL with Y cable and Gold card ? Or maybe I dont understand ? (sorry for bad English)
depends if radar has been supported MIDs
List of supported MIDs:
“PI061100, “PI061000"
if not supported, then you must install HSPL with Y cable.
Here is everything explained ... good luck
If your MID (you can find it in SPL) is supported, you just flash SPL, then HSPL and then ROM (you may need flash proper radio too).
If you have T-Mobile or AT&T Radar, you have to use y-cable for SPL flashing. HSPL and ROM can be flashet from computer.
It may look hard, but it's pretty easy.
Ok. Thank you for fast reply

after downgrade SPL to 2.5 , you need to install the Radio .nbh ,
tell me if i'm wrong
You have to install the correct radio for the ROM. It should say with each ROM what radio it needs...
There is an exe with a wizard that will install the radio, just like the ROM...

FOR THE NON EXPERT USERS like me this is not a tutorial it's a question i wanna know if it's possible , cuz it's logicly possible
G4 G4 G4
i wannted to mention that i think from reading that the soft spl and hard spl is the same but the soft spl every time i flash i have to use and i don't think that it is hard or boring so
tell me experts what will happen to my G4 k-jam if i did this
copy the nk.nbf from the RADIO rom and put it in the soft spl folder like we do in Regular Roms to flash it
the nk.nbf from the rom only has a gsm i checked no spl or ipl or extrom or os or splash nothin just gsm
so what will happen to my runing rom TNT 19209 pro
i wanna know if it will addition the gsm only or it will brick my Wizard
Its probablly going to corrupt your current ROM. It wont brick your Wizard exactly, but youy wont be able to start your device....thats what happened to me when I tried something similiar anyways.

thx for respond in my stupid posts and i'm sure u think that i'm just noob and don't accept any new ideas my proplem that i just want to leave my spl and ipl the way they r
by the way
i can solve my proplem by flashing an imate official rom but i'm afraid to do that
cuz it have all spl and ipl and os and every thing and waht i should do to flash just open the exe downloaded file and proceed or what
a stupid question as useual da the official roms require a cid unlocked device in g4 or what and is there is any way that the official rom can be harmfull to my g4 Wizard
if this official is great for me and not harmfull it has a radio version that works fine with me after i flash the official rom i 'll soft spl to tnt again but this time with the old radio that works for me
what do u say ?
Yes, you can use SoftSPL to flash a new GSM ROM to your phone.
No, there's no way an official ROM can hurt your phone. They check your hardware and flash appropriately. For best results, stick to the original provider's ROM.
There's no reason to be concerned about leaving your IPL SPL unmodified. Even if you use HardSPL, you can still revert back to an official ROM, after removing HardSPL.
If you do a HardSPL, you can flash pretty much anything that doesn't include IPL/SPL, including new boot screens, new radios, and almost every recent ROM in the Wizard Mobile 6 thread.
The phone must be CID-locked to flash an official ROM. If you used HardSPL, you would have to remove it (read the sticky-ed thread in the top of the G4 board) before going back to an OEM ROM. If you try to flash a G4 with HardSPL in place, you risk bricking it.
The newer TNT-based ROMs do not (and should not) include a radio as part of the package.
Don't use older ROMs, they are less reliable, and more likely to brick a G4 than newer ROMs are. Use this thread to choose a good ROM after you flash back to the OEM ROM and HardSPL your phone. If you like TNT, you should probably use one of these versions.

Be carefull!
There are official pre-G4 ROMs, they do not contain a G4 IPL/SPL therefore a pre-G4 (G3-only) official ROM most certainly will brick your G4 device.
Several members have reported bricks due to this!
BTW soft-SPL was designed to flash anything, including Radio.

Just remove all the IPL/SPLs from the ROM.
No problem in flashing an stripped ROM.
Radio only flashing won't result in a corrupted ROM, but why with soft SPL?
Just flash hard SPL and feel the freedom of flashing with a RUU without using the sspl.

You better use your own brain rather than relying to an invisble friend, but yeah, the procedure should work.

I know the feeling!
I was really nervous when I first tried to reflash the bootloaders, however radio and OS ROMs aren't critical.
If the bootloader still works in good order you should be able to recover from almost any mishap.
Good luck!

OK, newb question. Not yet done a ROM update on a phone and wanna make sure im doing it right before cooking my phone.. Searched for a basic guide like this on forum as to how things work, and what is compatible, but couldnt find.
Touch Dual - NIKI100 ..
Old Radio i know.. RUU Nike Radio 1.58.16.27
ROM 1.31.710.11
ROM DATE 11/16/07
Protocol ver 25.61.30.03H
From what ive read on the forums, Im guessing ive gotta do the below.. Correct me if im wrong..
1. Phone has gotta be unlocked.. Using Niki SuperCID and Security Unlocker... How to tell if it is unlocked before i do this?
2. Nike SSPL, USPL and HardSPL .. Gotta run this on phone.. Or do i gotta do this before the unlock? .. And which one to use?
Following info on this link.. - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355730
3. Use this radio update when flashing.. RUU Nike Radio 1.58.16.27.. from this link? - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=369502
- Im guessing you always have to use something compatible with the radio, therefore gotta use the right one, otherwise wont work?
4. Choose a ROM to add.. which is the best WM6.1 ROM to use?
- From what i can see, the ROM is slightly flexible, and customised to what someone needs, and isnt entirely hardware/model dependant?

Correct. Slip another company's SIM chip in. If it is unlock, it will work.

Unlock phone first before this.
SSPL first. That prepares the phone to accept another bootloader (either USPL or HardSPL). HardSPL just means it is write protected.

3 & 4 is dependent on ROM chosen. The author will advise you of which radio is needed for their ROM in their thread.
If you intend to flash HTC WM6.1 ROM, then the radio and SPL is also included in the flash. You can skip 2 above in this case. This ROM also needs SPL 1.22 or HardSPL 1.22 to work. If you have HardSPL 1.15 or HardSPL 1.16, then flashing this ROM will cause radio problems (phone or camera not working or both) until you update the SPL to 1.22
Hello. I bought my HD2 in India and it has the ROM version : 1.48.720.2(71294)WWE and the radio version: 2.05.51.05_2. HTC has not released any updates(1.66 ROM etc) in india(except for some patches like SMS, camera fix etc). Now i want to flash it to some custom ROM but before doing that i have a few questions.
a)Can i straight away install HSPL3 or it's a gradual process(from hspl1 to hspl2 to hspl3)?
b) After installing HSPL , can i choose any custom WWE ROM and radio combination ? Say if i wish to install Radio_2_10_50_26 and some energy's 6.5.5 ROM , would that be possible? Or i have to look for ROM's that are specific to my region/country.
much appreciated.
no you can use hspl straight away make sure you choose one ending in hspl not .0000 because thats stock spl, you should prob read a bit more first by the sounds of it mate, and you can install any rom you wish and most roms will say what radio is recommended but you can also check the last few pages to see what radios people are using, hope this helps
Thanks for replying Demon_man. I 've downloaded a file called HSPL3_PKG.zip from a thread called HSPL/HSPL2 HowTo flash everything. And i 've gone through a tutorial named Flashing your First GSM 512LEO Rom (For Noobs). So what i understood is that when i will run HSPL_PKG.exe , it will ask me for the HSPL version to install(tutorial says
i can select between SPL2.08.0000 or 2.08.HSPL

, so i guess only two versions are packed). And there i need to select 2.08.HSPL and NOT SPL2.08.0000. Once it is installed chances of bricking my phone are minimal. Please correct me if i am wrong.
Sorry for anoob question.
My phone Vendor is Asia.
Is it possible to completly change VENDOR to WWE???
yes HSPL2...

Yes I know... But question is to change and make it like another stock VENDER.
I mean i have Asya VENDER and i wanna to make it WWE VENDER, just like if it was from stock.
Is it possible?
yes it is. flash hspl2, choose 1.66.hspl or 2.08.hspl, flash any ANY rom, from ANY vendor, example O2 WWE, or Vodaphone WWE, or T Mobile Germany, or Eastern Europe, or Simplified chinese, or t mobile usa, or HTC WWE, or cooked roms, anything you like.
This WILL NOT let you use any sim if your phone is locked.
Just remember to flash using USB and not sd card.
Dear Sir Samuel.
I understand what you mean. But maybe you not understand me... Sorry about my english...
I'll try to explain what i'm talking about.
The question is ONLY about flashing stock ROMs, not customs.
I understand that with HSPL i can flash everything but...
When we install some ROM, it checks vender id which is flashed somewere in the devise, and if flashing ROM is WWE and devise has asian ID there we have error.
Question is, is it possible to change VENDER ID, in the devise, i mean just like it was putted in trhe devise from factory.
All i need it to flash now and future stock WWE ROMs.
Question is because if it was be possible, i will upgrade my 1.66 phone with 3.14 WWE as i like and not with Asian 3.14.
It is important, because every next ROM meybe come with newer SPL version, and i need to have devise wich accepts completly official updates.
In one word i need to change the citizenship of my devise
Sorry about my english, and to many words.
Thank you
have you tried? because as far as I am aware, hspl bypasses vendor ID.
BUT, you will not be able to use hspl to instal the 3.14 rom, because it doesn't work properly with hspl, so you can't get to spl 3.x
If your question is 'other than hspl, is there a way to change the vendor ID', , , you could try a goldcard, but if it goes wrong you may be stuck with an spl 3.x. (Though flashing your original stock from sd card should fix it, , bit of a risk though, i have a goldcard but im not trying it till hspl3.03 comes out.)

There we are. I don't need bypass Vendor ID, I know that is possible.
But i just wanna change my Vendor ID with another one.
Once to forever. I dont need custom ROM-s
I just wanna to any next official WWE ROM, when installing "thinks" that devise is WWE.
May be i don't understand what is VENDOR ID or where is flashed/recorded on the devise... May be VENDOR ID is serial number of some microchip and we cant reflash it... I dont know.
OK
Just forget about flashing ROM-s...
Can you tell me, where in the devise, Vendor ID is recorded?
From where, ROM installer asks devise for it?
And can we change this ID on the devise?
sounds to me like you need an electronics engineer.

Thank you Sir.
ah i get you, you want to flash a 3.14 rom, but they doint work correctly because you don't have the 3.03 spl. I see.
In that case, the answer is to wait, i guess. Regional 3.14 roms are being released, so there will be one for your area soon, meaning you can get the 3.03 spl, and then use sspl to flash the wwe 3.14, perhaps.
In the meantime, cross your fingers that someone is working on hspl3.03
You could also use SSPL to flash to a new 3.14 ROM.
Remember when flashing with SSPL, SPL and radio aren't flashed...
So you would only get the new rom (not SPL 3.03 and the new radio)
Grtz,
Degake
Hey all,
I'm a little confused as to what I need to do in order to flash a custom ROM onto my HD2. I heard that now since we have HardSPL 2 or HardSPL 3 out there, we don't need a gold card anymore. Is that correct?
Also, with HardSPL 2/3, does the application automatically detect what SPL version you have on your HD2, or does it just flash a HardSPL knowing that it'll be the correct version? My HD2 was brought from the UK, I believe it's the Euro version (512MB ROM).
Cheers,
IcedCube
hi, you will need HSPL to flash a cooked rom or a different radio. the new 3.14 OEM builds come with SPL 3.03 which will not work on vendor locked phones hence a goldcard image is needed to unlock these devices. hope thats simple enough.
