I HAVE VERIFIED THAT VOODOO OTA ROOTKEEPER WORKS TO RESTORE ROOT
Crazy, I just checked for this and it's ready to go. Now we just need to wait for the devs to give us a rooted version.

Looks like I'm skanky flashing Mean 3.4 and waiting for a clean wipe then... LOL
Keep calm and flash on...
Remember, if you are rooted NEVER ACCEPT AN OTA UPDATE AS YOU RUN THE RISK OF LOSING ROOT!
I'm guessing it has a new kernel as well, right? 1.22.651.1 source will be released in 4 weeks now. Heh.
Thanks for sharing this!
EDIT: This is what Mikey had to say about it...

Yeah, looks like Sense 4.1 is rolling out. FWIW, I looked at the Sense 4.1 changes and it's nothing to get too excited about. We've already fixed a lot of stuff that Sense 4.1 fixes. For example, they claim better multitasking but I looked at the changes and you know what they did? They put in one bandaid that elevates the stock browser's OOM priority so it doesn't get killed as often and they put in a timer so the system could tell how "stale" a process is: killing older ones (that haven't been touched for a while) first. Kinda short sighted on the browser though, because it only fixes the kill problem for the stock browser. If you use Chrome, ICS Browser, Boat, Opera, or any of the others, no gain. I've already made some adjustments to elevate important tasks like SuperUser, Google Framework, etc. so they don't killed. Will be interesting to see how the two (my modded stuff and Sense 4.1) compare. They say Sense 4.1 has less bloat. We'll see. So far, what I've seen by looking under the hood of Sense 4.1 looks like nothing but a few strategically placed bandaids.

Yes, there is a new kernel as well as new radio. Should also hope that means they adjusted our phones to improve LTE as they did with the Nexus and S3. As mentioned other quick changes are we are now on Android 4.0.4 and Sense 4.1. Not sure if the quicksettings menu was really actually a part of stock Sense 4.1 as I never found concrete evidence stating it was but we didn't get it. We do obviously have the ability to remap the recent apps button and they finally added YouTube to the app associations menu so if you click on a YouTube link it opens the app and not the browser. I'm hoping EAS for hotmail is fixed as well but I will have to wait and see.

You said that right!
I told people that they would go back to the Evo 3D days (in the video), where you couldn't flash a kernel in recovery, and I was right!
Do NOT apply updates, if you enjoy root. And if you're here on XDA, you're probably enjoying root access, or trying to!

I hope this fixes my wi-fi issues currently running stock with goodies. So my understanding to update radios if you are htc dev unlocked is to relock and run an ruu? How long before a new version of the ruu gets posted? Wouldn't this risk breaking the currently working root methods? I don't need detailed instructions just the best steps in order to update to the latest radios.

A new HBoot? Seriously? I can't even do what I want to because I'm on 1.15 already. Now I'm scared to take this update that I really badly want.
But, I guess a brighter point to this situation is that HTC and Sprint are moving along pretty quickly with pushing out updates. Not sure if this means we'll get JB soon, but I would imagine shortly after the One X gets it, we'll be getting it as well. This kinda caught me off guard.
are the radios worth it? what do they do new?

I have no clue why or who ever in Samsung development messed this up, but when you stream flash videos in full screen the notification does not auto hide. To me this is completely unacceptable as it ruins the possibility of "full screen" and it can actually damage the oled in these phones.
I think this fix should be a MUST for any developer currently making rooms for this phone. The only from currently that I know of that fixes it is Cyanogen.. but I do want a stable ICS and oh boy can't we all dream of a perfect aosp from... dreams of super fast clean friendly user experience...

And you feel that you can issue demands to the devs because...?? Why are you so special?
Why be a dev if your goal is half ass roms? The only thing I'm wondering is why has this not been addressed by the community? Why is this still "OK" and why are trolls immediately the only ones present in this forum?
There's a Q&A for ya..
Its funny how you think my suggestion is un warranted. I just desperately want to ruin my phone with burn in right?
It's not your suggestion, it's your attitude.

AS said above, it looks like your are running ICS which is in beta and has not been officially released, you are complaining about an unfinished, unofficially released BETA rom.
You may need some time of reflection and a lot of reading to understand what you are doing......
Why be a dev if your goal is half ass roms?
You answer your question yourself why build a rom based on a half assed buggy beta release .
Put in a very simple way . Why waste time on a buggy beta build that may be very different come release day .
When ICS is released and if a dev thinks its worth fixing your problem i am sure they will .
jje
OK it sounds like no one understood , I will attempt to explain this better. This is NOT an ICS problem this problem is with EVERY rom including stock update strait from Kies. I went as far as contacting Samsung to get a fix, but as you can see in my profile I live in the US and the US Samsung will not help me with my UK phone. Why everything between us is so divided beats me but still the issue remains.
As I stated currently the only rom that fixes it is Cyanogen but just as JJ stated why use a buggy beta when the release will be much different/better. Also I am currently running ICS and have not encountered a single bug. Everything works perfect except for Samsung's stupid attempt to burn in my screen. I don't know about everyone else but I paid $580 for this phone and the last thing I want is a permanent" 3g" on my screen...

Then give us more information. Saying that streaming videos don't go full screen is no where near enough. What ROM, website, browser etc are you using because the last time I tried this (Not long after the S2 was released) it worked just fine. I tried a 720p video from megaupload and it went full screen just fine. Same with youtube/youtube app. Give more information, not attitude. Also, i'd wager than there is zero chance of your display burning in a 3G icon. Perhaps the full notification bar if you use MIUI/a white or light theme but I highly doubt the majority of people will experience any burn in, never mind such a small specific burn in.
Fair enough.. more info. I usually run completely stock and decided to play around with ics. A main site I stream with is twitch.TV (I am a big starcraft2 player and use the pro streams to get better) while I'm at work I watch for hours sometimes 7 hours straight. This WILL cause burn in.
When the problem occurs:
Watching ANY true flash video online(not YouTube app) while in full screen mode in any browser or Rom besides cyanogen.
If you don't believe me test it yourself. Go to twitch.TV pick a stream let the video load and click the full screen button. If you have a rom that the notification bar disappears let me know and you won't hear.me "moan" anymore.
Or maybe one of you super nice Brits can call UK Samsung and get an official fix. The number is 08702420303.

Download the diff, check for relevant changes (there's not many for fullscreen) and mod your own browser. Before you ask, I'm not going to hold your hand on this one, and am not willing to do it for you either (I don't use an ICS ROM).
Not asking for any hand holding or hand outs for that matter.. one last question can it be done completely from the phone?
Actually nvm that browser mod will not work with ics. Even states in that post "should be comparable with 2.3.x roms.

Sure it will, you just have to be willing to put in some work. Namely, as I already said, downloading the diff, checking for relevant changes (I think there's only two changes relating to full screen) and getting them into your Browser.apk. You're probably going to need to do some reading.
Judging by this part of your post:

Oh well better late then don't getting it at all. If you really want ICS already then just run an custom rom with ICS.
Just pointing out, the OP is in Moscow...the email from HTC was directed at a Moscow user. Europe's rollout will be on a different schedule, and America's will be on yet a different schedule. Rollout will not be on the same date worldwide.
and i think the device list gets them first, in order
so EVO3d is like, second last ?
It's insane to me that the custom ROM community can produce multiple ICS ROMs without access to any of HTCs resources well before HTC can release a single ROM.
I can only think of 3 possibilities:
They have less than one person (per device) working full-time on the updates.
HTC employs the worst developers on the planet.
They wont let release ICS updates until they've sold new phones with ICS for a couple months.

The only reason they aren't feature complete is because of closed source HTC drivers.
Anyway, I really don't think that takes away from my argument. HTC will release ICS once they are sure it will not hurt sales of new devices. It's also the reason we wont see Sense 4.0.
It can't be time or cost effective to build ICS with Sense 3.6 and ICS with Sense 4.0. There is little in Sense that is hardware dependent. It's ICS that needs to support the hardware. It would make more sense to have one code base with slight variations for each device.

If one of our devs release a buggy rom we tell them and they can fix it because we're understanding.
But if a carrier releases a buggy rom they get sued and lose customers, and also give the particular device a bad name

I ended up giving my girlfriend my Evo3D and switching back to my old Samsung Epic 4G (the slider one) - it's slower, bulkier and has less memory but damn ICS runs smooth on it and everything works. 4G, Cam, etc... I have yet to have a single issue after 2 weeks of heavy use.
Even still, I miss my Evo3D but not enough to go back to using gingerbread.
Whatever. I'll be getting the evo 4g lte soon anyway. I'll get by with mikrunny until then.

I'm still happy with Sense 3.5. I honestly don't get why many people are so desperate in having ICS.
If it's ready for our device then we will get the update, but I can not think off many things that need ICS. And if you willing to lose the 3D feature and camera then I suggest flash Virtuous S4V Beta2.
Biggest bugs are: 3D not working and camera, rest everything works. But I'm not willing to lose features just for having already ICS.

Really?? I think you are wrong. Sprint 6 months ago released the GB rom for the OPTIMUS S. That "update" borked the charging, ear piece volume and other things. Sprint had to PULL THE UPDATE and have customers DOWNGRADE their phones back to Froyo. Sprint didn't get sued considering that rom was buggy as hell. They actually JUST re-released the update starting yesterday.

LOOOL I KNOW. but everytime i hear something new . and in your opinion, is flashing AOSP without 3D better, or Sense with 3D better?
I rooted my evo almost right out of the box, I saw no reason to have 3d, felt it was far better to go with an updated ROM than have HTC evil standard over bloated ROMs, love jb akop, cm10 or parandroid ROMs, hate sense, never going back to that crap again, kiss my azz HTC
(Don't ask me for help, as I don't care if your phone or tablet explodes, eh )
Flash its ok. Just sit down and have a beer before you have another stroke lol
3d in my opinion is just a gimmick I'm sure most of us belong in. 3d won't enhance the user experience either sense or aosp. Its a matter of preference to the end user and sense I'm on my vicoden I will calmly say this: unless HTC releases the source code for stock android evo 3d (which would require a petition from at least 2000 people) I'm sure that none of the developers will waste their time trying to build the code up from scratch. I love aosp don't mind at all losing 3d just to taste the new jelly bean 4.2 goodness. If you want 3d then you have a choice. Stick with sense 3.6 or try out jellybean.
Yeah, but I think that if I bought a phone that can manage the 3D, it would be awersome if newer versions of android (and sense lol) could manage this function..and if you don't need/like it, you can choose not to use it.
In my opinion htc has been really unfair to not relasing the sources for the camera, because they allow you to unlock the bootloader to install custm roms but almost no custom rom will fully work because of this...fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu D:
imo only agrabren has got the right knowledge to write the sources of the camera...he said it was working on it for jelly bean, but probably it won't happen in the immediate future because he is always busy with his work..and even if he could success in it, we don't know if only his rom will have this feautre or it would be possible to extend it to other (with or without sense) roms.
In addition, consider that htc has encrypted all the new jellybean RUU with sense 4+ available for the lastest one series, so this makes things more difficult.
All we can do is to cross our fingers..:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed: and hope for the best.
By now the only thing that you can try is this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1679394 it's not AOSP but it's desensed, starting from the stock evo rom so you have all working (3D, hdmi out, wifi tether ecc ecc)

True true. The only thing that's an annoyance to me is the native WiFi tether has that bug where it kills the 3g when turned on. (Not sure if that got fixed. Havant been on a sense ROM in months) so the only thing is to download WiFi tether and use that instead.
Got a point about HTC though, they are sone evil little bastards. Throwing all kinds of obstacles our way just to prevent us from having freedom of customization for our phones. Their just mad because root kinda prevents people from wanting to buy their newer phones and can have the new software on our now dead evos. I could go on and on about this but I won't. Our community always manages to bypass their security encryptions. Maybe we will this time. Maybe we won't. I won't waste my money on slight hardware upgrades until the quad core phones become a common thing.

I still do. I keep up with updates on my favorite ROMs,kernels, and mods. While I'm over at the droid RAZR forums which honestly, is like the aftermath a party where everyone is passed out. I already said this is the best community out there. This wouldn't be what it is without the awesome devs and the gang of trolls to shake things up a bit.:cyclops:::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::

Both Android Police and UberGizmo are reporting that the latest Sprint update for their One max, which brings wifi calling, will also be bringing Sense 6.
If so that's pretty amazing turnaround, though I don't see any updates on HTC's update page.
Is anybody on Sprint seeing an OTA with Sense 6?
Will be very eager if any Sprint users can check on this.

That's the news. Apparently LlabTooFeR posted a screenshot of the update on Twitter a few minutes ago:

That's great, crazy fast. With Verizon's track record I'm sure it won't be that fast for the rest of us, but I guess one can hope.

I'm sure they'll have it by the end of summer, haha.
But, I'm sure the developers can muster up a pretty stable ROM to hold everyone else over. I have the One, not the Max on Sprint. I'm thinking if they got the update today, I won't be very far behind. I read that tweet and now I'm pasted to XDA, haha.

Confirmation. Just checked on my sprint one max and bammo. Now I have to find a stock recovery image.
Edit: anyone know where to get a copy of the stock image. Really don't want to have to ruu. I'm on rooted stock right now.

Not flashable. Fastboot flash the recovery img inside

I'll post system and boot here when I get them, unless someone beats me to it

Just Posted the OTA in the dev section also.
I'd be really interested to know what the Sense 6 update has brought in terms of the camera? Specifically, does the camera now have manual focus like the M8 on Sense 6?

Yeah dude, update your OP with a system dump.. I've posted in other sections here how to "DD" the boot.img to the SD and then upload it, for the system just "adb pull /system/" and then zip it up and upload it here for us would be very very much appreciated!!! Flyhalf wants to get it ready for Verizon users..... Thanks bro
WTF? I have the International Unlocked version, shouldn't I have received the update before carrier subsidised phones?
Not necessarily, remember Sprint was going to release the Android 4.4.3 update to their Nexus 5 a few weeks ago but pulled it due to some issues.. That means the Sprint Nexus 5 would have had it before the GSM Unlocked Google Nexus 5.. lol.... Crazy how things have been transpiring hehe

Sorry about that, I didn't mean to sound butt-hurt about it. I was just under the impression that the unlocked international versions were always the first to receive updates according to their diagram that they released a month or 2 ago.
Okay finally after updating I flashed the hotspot fix and installed supersu through twrp and now when i unlock my phone I get "this app is not compatable with your phone" I can't do anything other than go through my notifications... It says unauthorized device above the message... This is really odd...

Not to sound like I don't care about your issue, but could you make a backup and upload it despite it being wonky?
I would try a factory reset first(wipe data).
If not, ok. But Flyhalf and I would be most grateful.
Thanks! Or anyone who could do so would be awesome! :good::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::good:

I would but my upload speeds are really bad. Plus I need to get my phone working asap.
EDIT: It was fine till i flashed the hotspot fix and it wanted me to root. Now I have wiped all but system and it still goes right to unauthorized device this app is not compatabile with your device... Starting to panic a bit... Really don't feel like Ruuing again tonight... Might have to. So a warning this may not be rootable right now... Or I'm a retard...

Flash stock recovery and do a factory reset.
That should resolve any issues...
Just a suggestion, wish I had this phone.
Would have a rooted rom up by now.
I personally just want the dump for dna, m7, t6, and m8 ports...
