Want to have the AOSP experience without compromise? Then this is for you! Please do not take this the wrong way, sportstar and company have done the impossible in this forum, but unfortunately, we have limited functionality with some things like data for example. Anyway, this is to my personal taste and I just wanted to share
1. Speed Rom 7
In my opinion and experience, the best performing senseless Rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1623184
2. Craigtut's AOSP Status Bar
Original, pure Google.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1623184
3. Jellybean Transition Animations
Jellybeans animtions are plain awesome.
(link here)
4. Awesome Beats mod
The cherry on top it's awesome and for some reason, works with Speed Rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1728391
5. Nova Launcher
Provides lots of jellybean features for ics.
(link here)
Finally, what I do, get a cm9 rom, extract it's phone app, and replace Speed Rom's one in order to get The Aosp call screen, but be sure you flash the Aosp status bar first, or you will get continuous force closes, also make sure to fix permissions for the new phone app!

jelly bean transitions?
I am trying to create AOSP on NRG rom, how can I obtain Jelly bean transition effect?
Any reason why 1. Speed Rom 7 and Craigtut's AOSP Status Bar point to the same thread?

Hello Everyone,
So I have been working on videos on using different widget apps, backgrounds, and themes and thought I would share them all in a thread for you. I have a similar thread in the Xoom forum, but thought I would share with other devices. All of this was done on a Xoom but this easily works on any Honeycomb Device with the exception to my last step 5 which has to do with theming,(this is device specific), but if the maker of a theme executed correctly, you can follow the same steps to install the theme. I go through various tools but they do follow an order from start to finish. This is not an exact perfect way to use each of these widgets I am talking about, but its a way that worked for me. I hope you enjoy and find this useful.
Big shoutouts to everyone. I give credits in my video, sorry if I miss you here. Submicron, BigDogRush, BigDX, Ghoticov, XDA Community in General (You guys rock!!!)
Please note that towards the end I switched colors to Blue instead of the Orange theme I have in the beginning.

Hey Looks good,
Have you tested the Honeycomb interface modifications (flash able ones) with the Samsung 10.1v? Do they work without issues?
Cheers,
Adrian

As of yet I have not. Haven't able to get dirty with one, just use. Will post when I can though.
Some time ago I saw a topic that one member 'ported' the android stock systemui.apk in the place of tw systemui, there is any way to put ICS original systemui in place of tw (for ICS ROM)?
TW system ui for ICS is really ugly and I want disable quick bar, so, all stock is what I want, ty.

where is the thread?
i really want to know as well!
I think I know the thread you talk about but it only themed the tw systemui so it doesn't remove the quick toggles.

Cm9 is the only rom for sgs2 with stock ics ui, why don't you try to take apks from there and push them to your phone

This MOD will center the Clock on your Lockscreen (as well as the date, the weather if you've chosen to have it displayed, etc..). The center clock option has been available in roms like CNA, so I thought, why not make it available for AOKP (CM9/CM10 coming soon!)

**Note**
Currently this is only available for AOKP JellyBean Nightly 8/29 by Th3Bill.

Disclaimer
DO NOT try to flash this MOD on ANY other ROM except the one it is intended for! This is a framework-res.apk mod and that file is specific to every ROM! If you try to flash this on any other ROM, you will most likely end up in a BOOT LOOP!

Not gonna lie, its a whole new ballgame doing this mod on the latest AOKP as they have reworked the framework-res.apk, just saying! Not as easy anymore as the tutorial I credited! But I still figured it out
I hope you enjoy

Are you currently using AOKP? If so, it's built into the AOKP Wallpapers app aka "Swag Papers".
If not, here you go... (Link)

I've used both CM10 and CM10.1 and the camera is awful. Takes forever to switch. Also the rear camera has problems focusing.
The stock rom works so much better, but I don't like much else of the stock rom.
you can use custom sammy - based ROMs
Maybe UltimaROM by Kryten2k35 is for you, then.
A custom Sammy rom. I've had heaps of luck with the new slim bean, the camera does crash on occasion but just requires you to press okay and then go back to the camera app, instead of having to restart the phone every time

UltimaRom might be what you are looking for
CodecRom is the Daddy - IMO of course.
DSA is still updating via his website, and help (not that you need much as everything always works!) is available in the Q&A thread.
please don't turn this thread into a best ROM one. all of these ROMs have the same camera performance
Could give ReVolt a try ... Tbh I was in same predicament as you and I've tried the 4.2 camera and I didn't like it as first.. Just change a few settings on that .. I know it may not perform perfect but fiddle with settings you may even fall in love with it

Okay I've been browsing threads for a while and I'm still so completely confused.
I rooted my first device ever, Nexus 4 and installed a custom kernel.
So I'm trying to figure out how to theme my phone while remaining on stock ROM...Why? Well I like the stock ROM and don't see a reason to switch really. Everything runs smoothly...
I've discovered some apps:
1. Metamorph
2. ZipThemer
3. Xposed framework with xtheme engine
So I tried out xthemes but I've found that the themes I like do not theme the dialer or system colours or just leave bits and pieces unthemed.
For example when using Simplex theme nearly everything is themed but not the blue accents for my contacts headings and dailer like so:
{

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
It's really bothersome to me who wants a very streamlined experience.
I want my numbers and all that blue to appear white or whatever colour.
Onto Zipthemer...so this should work so can I make those changes but I have no idea how. I don't know how to even find themes for this or what zips work. Can I flash a cm theme? Can I pick any morph file? I'm confused and what actually works. I know the how to thread said you can use any zips or morphs but can you?
Metamorph...again I don't know how to make those changes. I've searched xda but I'm still unsure on what to do. Are morphs mostly for ui elements rather than whole themes? Can I use morphs alongside xthemes or do they override. My xtheme isn't theming the elements o want themed so I can't imagine that being a problem.
Can the changes I require be only done on deodexed ROM? Does zipthemer or metamorph work on odexed? I know custom Roms are normally deodexed hence built in theming...
Is all this too much trouble and should I just install a custom ROM?
