Hi,
Here is my problem.
I have Xperia x10 mini/ yesterday , but mistake, I installed the firmware of the X10 mini PRO !!!
Now, once I understood the mistake, I want to flash with x10 mini firmware.
In order to flash I need to have FLASHTOOLS and need to press the BACK button - the problem is that since the phone is using now the wrong firmware, the BACK button (needed for the flushing ) doesn’t do anything and thus, I cannot install the correct firmware. I tried pushing all other buttons without any luck.
Any idea how I can overcome this problem ? I can’t use my phone now.

You can see the logo of Sony Ericson?
Set phone to stock with SEUS (Sony Ericsson Update Service)
If so you can try to install PCCOMPANION to repair.
Choose your device and try to repair it.

:silly:WTF back button.
Yea you're right.
What its the custom firmware installed, you can try to push convination of buttons for example:
backbutton and Power On at same time.
Powe On and another key.
Three buttons at same time, and put the battery, and connect the cable.
When i press three button at same time in my miniPro this represent another button.
Try this.
Good Luck.

Hello ! I have a Xperia X10 Mini Pro and I have flashed my telephone with a custom rom 2.3. It has freeze in SMS application and I have reboot the smartphone, since it does not restart. I have flash the telephone with Flashtool and SEUS with rom 2.1 but does not work. Help me please,
PS : Sorry for my bad English, I'm French.
EDIT : It reboot in a loop.
I would try removing the battery for a minute or two, remove and format the sd card (backup any data you want to save) get SEUS up and running on the PC and then connect the phone. Select the option to repair and wait.

I have downloaded the official firmware and flashed it myself using x10FlashTool.
later then I updated the firmware with SEUS.
Hopefully it'll work the same for you.

wOrHeR SvK had the problem and yesterday he got his phone working
I had this problem a loooong time ago too.
Lucky for me my wife got the same mini pro and had not yet updatet the original stock ROM in any way.
I connected her mini pro to SEUS. Got the update-notification, followed to the part where you remove the USB-cable, turn off and then reattach the USB-cable while holding the back-key (only here i attached my bricked mini pro).
Guess the rest...
Bad news for your phone.
I think your phone is fully bricked and I think there's no chance to recover it.

Hi guys!
I think I killed my phone. I upgraded to the GingerDx - V13 ROM, the first day it was working fine. Then the next day the screen is getting messed up until it won't start anymore. I tried using PC companion to hopefully factory reset it but (which it manages to finish the restoration) but now it is really not booting. It just lights up and then turns off. No SE logo or anything. Now I'm stuck as I don't know what to do next.
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.

PC companion is not good.. try flash with SEUS..!! Google it..u may find a download..
In order to restore a bricked mini pro:
-Launch SEUS (NOT PC Companion)
-When asked to plug the phone, press Home+Back (and keep them pressed) and then plug the phone on usb.
-Release Home and only keep the "back" button pressed.
If you followed the sequence properly, you will see the green led on and flashing process will start. If not, try it again.

I forgot to say that my LED is not working anymore (dunno why) I am trying to find SEUS installer. It seemed like you can't download it through SE's website.
EDIT:
WTF?! I dunno there's another XPERIA Mini Pro which is NOT X10 Mini Pro. I flashed my X10 Mini Pro with the Xperia Mini Pro ROM Maybe that's why it's not booting anymore.
I tried reflashing it with the correct X10 Mini Pro (via PC Companion) ROM but still no effect. Maybe I messed up the phone big time? I will try SEUS if I can find one. I hope it works.

Looks like a hard brick in my opinion if you flashed the wrong phone's firmware I suggest you send the phone back to SE for repair.

Hi,
Thanks a lot for the link. I tried using it, still not working. I have a feeling that it really is hard bricked now. My next try will be using flashtool this time.
Edit:
Tried FlashTool, still dead. My phone needs an overhaul Too bad it's not under warranty anymore
try to unplug your batterie, wait ... plug the batterie, start into recovery ( clockmod ) and reflash with a new rom .
If your bootloader is lock, you cant brick your phone
How to rescue our bricked phone for x8 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011071
PS: Are you sure you have the good firmware ?
In the post of doixant ( x8 ), you can see : Latest kernel and latest baseband xxx015
Another exemple : MiniCM7 for X10 mini ( not pro ) : Latest 2.1.1.A.0.6/2.1.1.C.0.0 SE firmware / Baseband: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015 due to kernel dependencies. This is automatically tested during the installation.
I guess, it's same for all custom rom

I'm sorry, but I really think your phone IS a hard brick now . I remember reading about a user that flashed a Galaxy S firmware onto his Galaxy S2, in the end he had to send his phone to the repair shop.
The same is probably true of your phone. I think you had better send it to the repair shop .
I need to flash my X10 Mini, but I can't find the firmware for It anywhere with a working link. Anyone that still have the file and willing to share?
There are only plenty of links to sites that are down
I tried to install MiniCM7-2.1.9-robyn on the phone and then afterwards it just won't start anymore, so i need to flash it and then use SEUS to restore it.
UPDATE!
I found everything and fixed everything I needed by just flashing It with a stock kernel.

I'm not looking for how to do It..... Read the question before you post. I appreciate you trying to help, but at least understand what the question Is first.
I'm looking for the firmware for the flashtool so I can flash my device (.ftf file)
They guides that teaches you how to fix a bricked phone got links to megaupload (that got shutdown not long ago) and multiupload (also got shutdown) for the firmware I'm looking for.
If you can't turn the phone on, then flashtool won't help you. You have to able to turn the phone on to get to download mode for flashtool, or Pc Companion, or SEUS to do their thing.
If your phone doesn't turn on, you've got a hard brick. Which is bad.

No, it can be a hard brick, he didn't do anything to put his device in danger (from what he claims).
He just needs a stock .ftf file for mini, which I was planning to do in the past, but did only for the pro... I am sorry my friend... There is only one solution -to make the ftf file yourself, which is something very confusing and you are going to need another mini to do this. But don't get your hopes down, it is possible, at least...

The phone it self comes to a point where there is some light on the screen, but i can't see the SE Logo anymore. I can charge the phone without problem from what it looks.
If I can get hold of another mini how can I make the ftf?
What did I do to achive this problem??
I tried to install MiniCM7-2.1.9-robyn and it ended with a phone that got stuck during boot. Then I got to a guide where someone said "Hardreset the device and use SEUS", but SEUS always says that my phone has the latest software.

As far as SEUS is concerned, you DO have the latest software. It just doesn't realise that what you have doesn't work. Select the option to reinstall the software.

Can it be that the option is no longer there depending on SEUS version?

There is a repair option in PC Companion, see it, please! The repair option on PC Companion is Support Zone --> Update --> Repair.
BTW, to hard reset :
1. Turn the phone off
2. Press the POWER button
3. Press and hold home key aprox 3 seconds
4. The hard reset is starting.

in SEUS you have to click the "repair" option, that should do it
I have the same problem.
I've rebooted from CWM recovery after a new rom installation, and it told me that the recovery was broken.
So I choose to repair it but it didn't work.
I tried few times (5 or 6) and, at the end, I decided to switch off the phone and reboot.
Since then my phone is stacked on the Sony Ericsson Logo, it'is impossible to connect it using the "back" button and it is impossible to use SUSE properly I guess 'cause I tried but it does not recognize the phone.... I tried with an hard reset (Home+power) but it shuts down and then again it stacks.
Obviously the back button does not allow me to go on recovery mode....

1st, have you tried connecting your phone via flash mode to flashtool ? Can flashtool detect it ? Because, if your phone can enter sony logo, I think SEUS /flashtool will be able to detect it as well..
In case SEUS still fails but flashtool is able to connect,, try to install nAa latest kernel (I suggest to redownloading it), since it contains recoovery as well..
Hopefully that helps..

Don't worry my friend. Just give me some time to find an X10 Mini and I'll provide you an .ftf.
Hello helpful reader,
I'm messing with a friend's X10 Mini because he wanted a "higher android version update" on his phone, and since I myself have a X8, I kindly offered to root it and flash a ROM to it.
So I found out the bootloader couldn't be unlocked, so I installed CWM manual (via Root Explorer) and flashed GingerDX (for X8 it can be installed to stock kernel, so why not on the X10 Mini?)
But it seems to get stuck in the kernel logo (Sony Ericsson) and I found out quite late the battery is mounted to the phone..
I tried to get in flash mode for programs such as PC Companion, Flashtool, etc..., but no success there, since I can only "reboot" the phone by pressing Power + Home. It doesn't shut down!
Another tutorial around these forums showed how you can plug out the battery wire, but I'm afraid to do that, since it's not my phone..
Can anyone help me out?
...with companion open (and pressed repair...etc) plug usb the bricked phone, then press Home+Power+Back button, when note a little vibration, stop press home+power button but let pressed Back button, you enter in flash mode.

I dont remember the link to the guide but you can try searching in the forum someone explains how to disconnect your battery from the phone.
Btw if you dont want to take some risks yourself than take it to the sony ericsson customre care but they are gonna charge more than they usually will do.
Its always best to use the sony ericsson update service to reset the phone(If you got the courage to remove the battery).
P.S.-Be careful while flashing roms coz x8 rom is only for the x8 and not for other phones. Sometimes due to Baseband and firmware difference some roms which are meant for the x8 dont work on the x8(I've taken the x8 as an example bcoz your device is the x8). Click thanks if my post was helpful
