Hi guys, first of all, I have headache and I can hardly use correct grammer now.
My s2 has an idiot problem. I realized it the day when I bought but, I thouht that it was fruit ninja's failure, because I was sliding my finger and idiot s2 was capturing them intermitted. I opened developer settings and activated show pointer location (the one has graph). If I ove my finger slowly, s2 captures all of it, but when I do it faster (fruit ninja speed, my old n8's touchscreen was even better), it captures it intermitted. Then I opened *#0*# and tested my phone and the result was terrible. As you can see in the picture. Did you faced this problem? I sent my phone for repair and I will get my phone after 1 or 2 weeks.

Wfh is this. What an annoying problem. I hope warraty will repair it, because this problem will make me throw my phone to wall.
I still need your opinion. The topic was in 2th page and I had to move it up.

When you get the phone even if it's not fixed, then try these options:
1. If you don't have root access
-Download this App
-Run the app, and optimize your touch
2. If you have Root access
- Flash another kernel, Siyah, Dorimanx or Dream, anything touch related has been fixed in these kernels

I tried every kernel, but it is not kernel or rom related. I also tried a program which makes sensivity better, but if I do that, screen captures when I approach my finger, that makes keyboard unusable. Does anyone has this problem? I really wonder.
Addition: This problem is extremely idiot thing. Screen gets the movement but does not process it. What kind of idiotness is it (I did not say to you, to my s2 Dont understand it wrong)

I think so. I sent it for repair, lets see what will happen. I will write the result when the phone comes back.

The problem is that, if the screen has been untouched for a little while and you start touching it, it isn't reacting right away, and suddenly jumps in. More easily explained here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=sRXcBcpSD1w
Is it possible to fix this somehow? Am running ICS, if anyone wonders.
Anyone got any tips at all?
You can try to change kernel, or change you rom
It's problem for me too, any solution?

So anyone know if this can be fixed somehow? Maybe some ROM out there without the "issue"?
very annoying, all the custom roms for ICS right now has this problem.. going back to gingerbread until it is fixed
yup, tried 10 different ics roms, even one that was pretty basic and new, they all have the screen lag issue
it's forcing me to go back to gb ...
Hmm
im sorry, but i dont have this issue ;(
Im running Stock LPQ with siyah Beta 4
Nemus Launcher and TW Launcher, no issues on both..
Im on stock LPQ with stock kernel and I don't have this issue.
I had this on LPQ Stock and now LP7 Stock, worked fine on GB 2.3.4 Stock
Are the people above who are saying it is fine sure about that? For most uses you wont' notice any difference.
Now open up the app 'Draw Soemthing' and try and draw some small details, it's next to impossible.

I was using Slim ICS and i had this issue (as i had it on gingerbread too, but touchscreentuner app fixed it). After flashing siyah kernel beta5, I tested it and it was greatly decreased (still had a very little jump though.)
So, long story short, use siyah kernel

I found a solution of sorts. I flashed Hidrogenics ROM and it has a special app called S2 Settings, in the app you get to adjust what sensitivity you want. I set it to 20 and it seems to be close to what I had on GB, all the issues are almost gone.
You can look at this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1161262
Your phone has to be rooted though.
Cheers!
Just tried the tuner App and see no changes at all on any setting even in the App test area. I still get one big jump before it registers movement.
Touch fine before on 2.3.4 but ics has ruined it.
Sent from my phone lol

I second that, nearly impossible to play draw something lol
Ok I downloaded multitouch test app and surprisingly I don't have any problems there.. so I guess the app 'draw something' doesn't work properly on ICS!

Hate to say it but you might need to boot into recovery and wipe data if a reboot didn't fix it.

This is so frustrating....but thanks for the note.
I don't even know how this should be possible.
How'd it get stuck in landscape mode in the lock screen?
Edit: editing this post because I found the option he must have checked to get this problem to occur. Its here. Horizontal lock screen option.

I thought I would add to this in case someone actually searches for this problem. I was just scrolling through the forums. Anyway, have someone call your phone. In-call, hit home key and you can get to whatever you need to to change settings (and they can hang up). If no one is available for this... kill yourself.. you have no friends... Just kidding.

Is this a real thing? Seems like a massive security hole if that is actually capable of being done on AOKP. What's the point of having security on the lock screen if it can be bypassed when in-call?
One more reason to stick with Samsung TW roms. On Semiv17, with lock screen security enabled, the home/back/search buttons are locked out if you answered a call from a locked state.

Hey guys,
I've just unrooted my phone, made a full data wipe (with the mega wipe script ), flashed the new I9300ZSEMA1 via odin.
I reainstalled all the application I had.
My phone it's still (I've done all this to free my phone form the UI's lag maledition ) lagging.
It happens many times when i click bottoms and it has to load smth.
Apart from this, it happens other times casually, event though it's not that evident, but I see there's ppl here saying "my phone it's never lagging", "it's smoother than ever", "it's a beast", etc.. so i want to understand!
Here's my info screen

As said, it's stock 4.2.1, unrooted.
I was thinking about installing a kernel like Siyah and manipulating smth about screen from there.
Are there any other options? Which ones?
I've tried (without much of a success ) the subsequent moves:
1 Delevoper Option --> Force GPU rendering [ON]
2 Developer Option --> Disable hardware overlays [ON]
3 Developer Option -->Window animation scale [0.5x]
4 Developer Option --> Transition animation scale [0.5x]
5 Removing Samsung weather widget from the home screen
And that's my current configuration, for what it's worth.
Where would you go from here?
P.S. CAN I SET THE IMAGE RESIZE VIA BBCODE?
Is resizing it previously the only way?
Why are you messing with settings you clearly know little of? You should never have "Disable hardware overlays" on. That sure as hell won't make your phone smoother.
thank you for your help, i'm trying to move smth!
what does Disable hardware overlays mean?

Read this:
Without a hardware overlay every application that is displaying things on the screen will share video memory and will have to constantly check for collision and clipping to render a proper image, this can cost a lot of processing power. With a hardware overlay each application gets its own portion of video memory, getting rid of the need to check for collision and clipping.
Basically, using hardware overlays can reduce CPU usage by quite a bit, so I would leave it enabled.

no one?
Install either Siyah or Perseus kernel and remove bloatware which you don't use

Maybe it lags because you're trying too hard to make it not lag, which currently is impossible. Try flashing a heavily debloated rom like WanamLite, then apply gokhan's latest siyahkernel, then try "bestmultitaskingfix v7" and let everything settle for a few days.
Also, don't be worried if it lags a lot just after boot-up, it's bound to do so while caching.

that's funny because in the previous post i opened, blaming for the galaxy s3's tendency to lag, everyone was saying the opposite lol
So I was messing around with a Galaxy On5 that Straight Talk had sent me for free. I was rooting it and along my journey I found myself in a very strange mode that I would like to figure out how to return to. The phone booted up with some arrows along the bottom, or gears and said Factory something. It was some strange developer test mode or, something along those lines. It was a weird home screen with blue(I think) squares and abbreviations in them. There was a long stretched green battery bar at the top with segments. There was also some strange applications, but notably, and the reason I want to get back into this, there was what I believe to be the default AM/FM radio app. This app was different from the ones you find by 3rd parties, it had an older appearance and did not require anything to be plugged into the phone jack to work. It also worked quite well compared to other radio apps. There were a few other test type features like vibrate and what not. This was not safe mode, as it almost looked like a completely different operating system. Is there anyone who can give me any insight as to what the heck this was? I have tried Googling all kinds of things to try finding something similar but nothing at all, just the typical Recovery and Download modes which I am already familiar with.
Can you post an image? Screenshot or taken with another camera.

Unfortunately I was unable to get a screenshot or picture when this happened.
How did you get back from.
Its surprising no one had found this "easter egg" before.

I think it happened when I flashed a rom. I can't remember I was messing with the darn phone for hours. I might try to replicate it though, haven't decided if I want to risk losing my root.
I figured out the mode is called Factory Binary and is triggered by flasing a firmware I found with odin in AP.

Images won't embed properly. Using prntscr
Edit, after hours of research, I realized it's not some 'secret' mode or anything, it's simply a factory testing software.
Too bad I couldn't pull the AM/FM app from it through, would really like to use it.

You can adjust the intensity:
Settings>Sounds and vibration>Vibration intensity also:System sound/vibration
I've owned nearly every Galaxy S phone and this has always been a problem for myself as well.
I did notice though that we can create our own custom vibration patterns now and I created one with the highest vibration the entire full length that was possible to create. I haven't fully tested it in my pocket as of yet though but this might be something worth trying yourself.
I'm still using the zig-zag pattern and will likely test out my custom pattern this coming week and see how it goes as well as see how the battery life is with it.

Interesting... how can i create my own? Didn't see any option.
Even with the zig-zag i can't feel anything, it's annoying... my 2017 samsung phone had better vibrations than this flagship

I am no longer seeing the option either.... but something along the lines of "Create custom pattern" was in this menu before.
My custom created pattern IS still there (bottom of the screenshot below) and is named "Highest" for obvious reasons. I can't think of what would have changed for this option to have disappeared other than using Smart Switch, as I'm pretty sure I used that after seeing this option but I can't recall.
