htc brick.. - HTC Amaze 4G

I have an htc amaze. It was first boot looping into the htc logo. My friend then went to h boot and did a factory reset.. Now the phone won't turn on, is this s brick ? If so can someone help me out. I'm not familiar with htc ...

Was it rooted? Recovery? S-Off? Rom?

Soft brick from not allowing a proper boot. Install a stock ruu via hboot, that should fix it.

If the device won't turn on It's a brick. How could it not be

Never said it wouldn't power on, just said it won't boot and a soft reset wouldn't exactly brick a device now would it? Unless he's not telling us something.

To be fair, often times not turning on is the same thing as not booting up correctly to those who maybe aren't as tech savvy. TC just needs to be a little more specific.

I know what you mean. It seems like such a violent vibrate lol
This phone, my OG evo, and my nexus s all do this and I don't think it is possible to get rid of it because it's just part of the hardware starting itself up, if I had a guess.

Vibrate occurs extremely early in the boot sequence. The vibration occurs before the kernel is even loaded.
The only place I would suggest to have access over the vibration would be in the actual bootloader. The source code for the bootloader is closed and don't think HTC has ever released it.
The only work I've seen done on the bootloader has been by unrevoked and alpharevx regarding the unlocking for internal memory. Most of the work on the bootloader, if not all, has to be done thru reverse engineering.
Hope that helps provide some semi technical background!

Note won't turn on when unlocking

OK so recently my phone has not woken up from when it is unlocked. I've tried waiting and I've tried pressing it harder, multiple times etc, but nothing happens. I just end up resorting to a battery pull. This has just been starting this past week. I am running stock gingerbread no root. Should I be concerned? Has anyone else experienced this with their note?

i guess no one else has this issue?
If you are running stock without root and you have this issue then you should be concerned. Does a battery pull fix it? Do you have some memory hogging apps running in the background? Have you tried a factory reset? All else fails contact ATT for a replacement.

I've never seen that but they mention in the app to hit them up on IRC if you're able too. Give that a try and also try using LGNPST using teenybins. That may help out as well.
Sent from my LG-E970 using Tapatalk 2
I would use tennybin but I'm not sure if I would be able to get into download mode since they said not to reboot because I could possibly get hard bricked. The part that failed contains download mode and if I reboot I could possibly not boot back up or get into download mode.

I actually got it fixed. Problem was I was not properly rooted and so I was not asked superuser permission. Therefore nothing actually really happened

Hi, I too have the same issue as you faced. It didnt ask for superuser permission too. So will i end up hard bricking if i rebooted? BTW my phone is Sprint LG Optimus G LS-970. Wonder why the rooting failed.
EDIT: Device was still unrooted (I thought I did the rooting properly). Thats why Freegee went haywire and threw me hardware brick prone error on rebooting.

Unroot for warranty

Ok guys, I've looked everywhere so don't flame me please, lol. My wife needs to return her phone cuz it won't hardly charge. How do I get back to stock? Meaning, where do I find the stock Rom, how do i do it etc. Thanks in advance for the help.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Even if the phone is rooted. If it's an actual charger port issue then Tmobile would replace it anyways. I think. But first return to STOCK by flashing the RUU. (I would give you a link but I'm sure you will find it faster on your computer then I would on my phone).
I'm never too sure though. I think there is a way to change the bootloader to-day "LOCKED" but idk what it was.

Someone on here made a mod that reset the lock status flag. Maybe that can help.
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using Tapatalk 2
I'm looking for it. I found this. But it might just be the relocked status
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1647728
Hey have you flashed correct RUU.??
Bcoz many people tried it and it is worked for them very well..
Try again.
No issue of relocked.
Bcoz relock status will be shown if you lock your bootloader through oem lock process.
Try to follow next step...

Also the device is not rooted, any odin way would be gr8
Hey you mean that you want to brick your device ???
The 1st person is asking this Question .
So to flash radio or hboot .
Search on Google
" HTC one x RUU xda "
Download any of the Rom you like then open that downloaded zip file and take radio.img out of the zip and then put it on the sdcard and flash it through recovery
After that your Mobile will never work.
It will even not boot up....

I do not have the root access or custom recovery installed.
would that method work?
Hey why don't you just donate your phone to some developer or a needy who have a flip phone yet?? I mean doing something like that is no use for anyone.. Don't break a perfectly working phone

Why would you want to brick a perfectly working amaze? Donate it to a developer who can do awesome things for this phone (like SebastianFM or ivicask).
This is a waste of time and money in my opinion. You can put a smile on someone's face if you just give a needy person a phone.
If this is for fraud purposes this thread should be closed. Sending a bricked phone back to someone, or even a corporation is like stealing.

Sigh, that's FRAUD! That is simply not right.
This thread should be closed then since it's against XDA rules.
Seriously?? The ONE S? That phone *ain't* even that great compared to ours lol. No removable battery, only 3 menu buttons, and if the glass cracks you're done. Unless you have 200$ to fix it, which voids the warranty anyway.
But I'm guessing we're too late since he probably got a One S by now and bricked his Amaze.
Someone contact a mod for amaze.

We do not condone any type of fraud against carriers. This not only hurts them, but other users when they jack their prices up because of fraud.
