Is there an app like cpu spy but that will show which individual apps are eating up battery? Something is causing my media android process to continue nonstop

Better Battery Stats is probably what you're looking for.

I'm having network location locator running from Google maps. It did the same thing last night. I haven't run maps. Would Google now have anything to do with this? Any thoughts?

Yes. For Google Now to do its magic, it needs to periodically check your current location. It uses Maps for this. There's an option in the Maps settings where you can disable the updating of your location automatically if you desire, but then Now won't be able to alert you for traffic conditions, local weather, bus stop info, nearby sports info, etc. Although you can set most of those things manually.

On tasker I tried to set a profile so my data would turn on when i would open certain apps like weather and internet but it doesn't work

I'm not familiar with tasker, but I know with data intensive apps they usually give you option such as how the app updates itself. Options such as manual, or update every 1... 2... 4... or 6 hours. Why don't see if they offer you those settings?
Sorry if I'm not much help.

I shut all my apps to update only when I want them to yet I see my phone gathering data all the time

It could be because it is backing up stuff for your Google account.

Try Juice Defender Ultimate. It's paid but it would do what you're looking for; you can have data off and then configure apps that are allowed to use data.

Hello!
I'm currently looking for an app that allows me to view system info, preferably as a widget, like temperatures, cpu usage, network in/out etc.
Anyone know of an app like this?

Thanks, but not what I'm looking for. I prefer a widget, cool tool was just rather annoying blocking the view of the top-bar

Search Google Play & try a bunch of free version of apps until you find one that has what you want. That's what the rest of us did/do.
Hi guys, I recentrly tested a few apps from the market changing the location using fake gps points. All of them work perfect but the locations sent via apps ( facebook for example) they show Bing maps not Google ones. I prefer gmaps because for my country they show every single street and building. Bing hasn't done that yet. Could you please advice me what app works with google sources?

Try Google+ ?
I bet Google doesn't use Bing maps lol.
I realized. It depends on what you are viewing the location. If from an android device it shows google. If from a broswer desktop - bing.

It's there a way to let Google Now work without having to give them permission to track your location?
I'm one of those paranoid types who hate being tracked for no assistant reason.

It actually relies heavily on knowing your location in order to provide relivent information and responses.

When you search for stuff around you, how's it supposed to know where you are?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
Well I guess you'd miss out on a lot of the features but you'd still get voice searching and those things, but would this work?
Go into system settings and find Location Services, uncheck those boxes they're used to pinpoint your location (Google location service, GPS Satellites, Location and Google Search). Try that or maybe two of the three. Never tried it myself so dunno how it would work
Nope, it says I have to enable it to continue using google now

I wish I could disable mine. I'm tired of bumping the search and it coming up.
I used titanium backup to freeze mine.
Wish I could reassign the button though

you are questioning? or just saying buddy? if questioning, i guess you are rooted as it can be said from your screenshot, greenify the app(donation only). or stop it from starting at the boot using es task manager(i use it) or any others.
:good:

most of us are suffering from same issue..
Try removing Google account then adding it back in, can also try clearing data for Google services if that doesn't work
