The number of roms even less than Hero's,what happened ?
Is the 3D function make them leave ?
Calling MdeeJay:crying:

How many roms do you need? :what:
We've got sense 3.0, 3.5, 3.6, 4.0, 4.1. Aosp 9, 10, paranoid android, miui. Gingerbread, ICS, jb. Stock and themed. If you can't find a good Rom, then you are very picky.

The 3d was never that popular of a phone to begin with. Many OG Evo owners didn't upgrade to it.

Although I think that had more to do with timing than anything. OG owners were locked into two year contract. It's one of the reasons that I'm not getting an evo lte.

The only reason I have one is from doing an insurance claim when I broke my evos screen. Offered me a 3d and I took it. I wouldn't have spent an upgrade on it though. Same with the evo lte. Not worth a 2 year contract imo. I'm waiting for the next nexus phone or maybe something else if it really impresses me.

Like coal686 said, we have
-Sense 3.0
-Sense 3.5
-Sense 3.6
-Sense 4.0
-Sense 4.1 (being worked on)
-CM7
-GB MIUI
-Stock ICS (slim version by me)
-CM9
-CM10 (working on my WiFi and sound fix still)
-MIUISense
-AOSP MIUI (I'm working on it, may release it sooner or later)
-ICS ParanoidAndroid
-JB ParanoidAndroid
-And I'm working on Flyme (Fly Me) OS which I'm working on now. It's from the Meizu MX and after scowering the forums NO Other phone other than the MX itself has this ROM, so it will be an XDA AND An Evo 3D exclusive (inbox me to run a logcat, it gets stuck at boot ani)
Soooo as you can see our lineup is the SH*T, and this isn't even including themes and mods. Just because we don't have a thousand versions a CM9 Rom with a different name and a couple mods DOESN'T mean our choices are scarce, we like clean forums and even though Sprint might not think it, the evo 3D is one of the most innovative phones ROM wise on the market period, and we ain't going NO where.!!!

So either help out, or shut the **** up. It's people like you that always want want WANT don't contribute to **** that halts development.

How long does it take to port sense 4.0 to oficial shooter RUU 4.0?

Hi, I just wonder how long it takes to port sense 4.0 to android 4.0 after android 4.0 released oficially for evo 3d. As we know ics update will come to evo 3d gsm with sense 3.6. But i like sense 4.0 more than 3.6...
Now i don't want to port ics roms because they don't support 3D and some minor things...
It's very much a science. Lots of research, development and a ton of trial and error goes into it.
An estimate is tough
I would say it's in the ballpark of 1 to 60 days though.

It seems to easy to us but i know developers work for hours, days and weeks... Virtuous team started to port sense 4.0 to htc one's android 4.0. It is really bad to wait oficial ics; and it is worse to wait sense 4.0 with ics than waiting oficial ics
Given that HTC have access to android source, sense source, and drivers for the kernel they should be able to get a working rom in a week or less. Sense only slows down the release of updates as they then have to go and debug the problems sense caused.
/edit They = HTC, They have no reason to update a phone once released thus will put it on the back burner and and take as long as they want to release stuff like android 4.0 because people will buy a new phone.

That said, I doubt HTC really gives a **** about updating an already released phone, it does nothing for them as they can just release a new phone and people will buy that.

I'm wondering when will people stop believing this myth. Sure, Sense might add a short additional time to the development, but rewriting source code, that was build for completely different device is what is taking most of the development time. Not to mention to properly implement new drivers.

Probably but there's no guaranty. Best option I can think of right now is maybe including sense 3.6 camera and gallery to sense 4.0 ports. To be honest, noone can know for sure because ICS for E3D hasn't been released yet so it's foolish to speculate anyway.

I dunno what makes camera work. Android or sense? If the answer is android, we should have a working camera when ics for shooter released. If it is sense, maybe htc one's sense codes aren't fully suitable with evo 3d so it will take more time to have working camera with ics with sense 4

Sense 3.6 v. 4.0

I'm using the leaked ICS rom with Sense 3.6. It's great. And I just read an article comparing Sense 3.6 and 4.0. Am I missing something? Other than a few changes, is there really a reason for everyone to be so upset that we (probably) aren't 4.0? Or is it just the principle of the matter? Either way, I am completely happy with 3.6 and the improvements brought by ICS alone.
I'm sorry to say there's no "probably" involved here. The Rezound will not get Sense 4.0 in any official manner because Sense 4.0 "is built to take advantage of the hardware in the One Series handsets and beyond".
I'm a card-carrying Sense hater, but I'm pretty impressed by 4.0. It's been redesigned, and even Newt's beta ROM runs better than 3.6. If this is the future of Sense, then I'll take back what I've said about Sense in the past.
Yea I haven't tried Newt's rom yet bc I just got my Rezound yesterday and am content with the ICS leak until exams are over. FYI, Newt released RC1 today for that rom. The leak is performing pretty well tho, for me at least.
sense 4 will be great once our devs have 100% ironed out all of the bugs..but until then, it's kinda buggy and worse off than 3.6. but i'm pumped for when they're able to fully develop it
I think one of hte biggest advantage with the 4 is its light weight and better integration with ICS. 3.6 seems to still retain some looks and feel of the current version of sense so it still weighed down a little bit in terms of performnace. 4 seems to help with the performance better as there's less overhead needed.

I've been running BAMF Evita and it is very impressive. I've noticed many improvements in the feel and speed of sense 4.0. Feels very fluid and fast. Been running Evita less than 24 hours and I'm sure as with all roms it will get smoother as it settles in. Must say that Joel is doing great work with this. Looks like the rezound community is going to be a great one with capable devs and many great themers and mods.

I also prefer 4.0 vs 3.6. I have been running BAMFs 2.0 and I love it! Mine settled fast and I have no complaints! I will never go back to 3.6!

I too run Sense 4 and obviously it has a few issues but so did Sense 3.6 when I first had it installed on the Rezound. I remember on my Thunderbolt running Sense 3.5 Based Roms and they had issues but the awesome developers here always seem to iron out the wrinkles. Honestly the only real issue currently is the Bluetooth only connecting to media. I'm on RezRom S4 1.0.1 right now and it has been the smoothest running of the Sense 4 Roms for me to date!

Vote: What flavor of ICS do you want worked on most?

Maybe some devs are just blown away by the options - or maybe they don't think this device is that popular? Blow them away by voting and showing how in demand their services are - and for what!
There is a lot of variety out there right now- and with the official ICS leak these things SHOULD be much more possible, so let me ask you what flavor of ICS do you want the most?
All examples are from vibrant because I have tested all of them on my old phone.. many of the more popular devices have them all.
Ports/official:
Slim ICS - Clean, Simple, and fast - the google way - as barebone aosp as it gets.(Can you say a 75mb download?)
Something like MIUI - A feature heavy nearly total redesign of Android - everything about this type of rom is different - but most of you probably know that. Easily themable in every aspect. Some of the features are here(don't forget it takes advantage of all the new features of ICS)
AOSP(Android open source project) - Either official CM9 or pure AOSP - the stock experience without our blessed "SenseUI" we all have come to love/hate - CM9 of course has some extra features.. and is also easily themable.
AOKP(Android open kang project) - Much like a feature rich version of CM9, while still aiming at a stock experience - if you want to know the differences click here(or check some of the features here)
SenseUI+ - Do you just want modified Senseui with some tweaks? Maybe some root, crt displays, power menu options.. just a stock+ experience? If so go to the development section, it has only been a week yet some good roms seem to be popping up all over(*cough* signature *cough*).
I like stock - HTC and Tmobile decide what I should use, and that's the way I like it! The most I could ask for, if I was feeling risky, is to get a little bit of root. Maybe.
Gingerbread - Damn this new radio! My battery sucks! Life sucks! How dare they leak a rom that isn't even finished! Those @ss&*#(s!
I'm gonna buy a new phone - You guys are noobs, I'm gonna buy a new phone!
If I missed an option, I'm sorry.. send me a PM and I'll see if I can add it to the list- but these are some of the choices out there, maybe help out devs and the potential ones alike by shouting at them all in one place!(rather than in their threads- I'm pretty sure they hate that.)

And yet there is no vote for MIUI? What gives?
I haven't seen that sense4 has enough improvements over 3.6, and then there is the fact that many of those features were integrated into ICS anyways.. is it worth the slowdown?
Now Miui on the other hand has some really original features..

I was running it today and it was pretty good, I'm looking forward to warm four dot zero. 3.6 has amazing battery life and sense 4 has fluidity and a new taste. I'm not a fan of 3.0 with ics, but that battery life is amazing. I got about 10 hours before I got to 10% and I'm a pretty heavy user (a lot of Facebook and Voxer over 3g). Usually my phone would last 8 or 7 hours before it died.

The Nexus is ok at best, I've tried it and can honestly say that the SII, 3D, and even Note feel more comfortable for usability. Sure, the stock ICS is fluid and is designed around the capabilities of the Nexus, but in the end, you're still playing with a black banana phone with a goofy curved screen.
Sense 4.0 is a huge change over 3.6. If you haven't tried newts Rom do it. 3d and 4g aren't working but you really won't miss them. Although I am surprised that no one has ported the EVO 4g LTE Rom to our device yet. It would be nice to have a full cmda sense 4.0 Rom.

I think it's pretty simple to be free from Sense if that's your preference... get a different phone and stop complaining.
Most people that buy HTC do so because they like Sense UI, above all other factory UI variations... Sense 4 is the best one yet. TouchWiz, MotoBlur, and everything else don't even compare.

Not true at all. Opinions are not facts. He felt I'll show you, "most people who buy htc phones do so for the hardware specs, they don't even like sense or know what it is"

Different Sense Ports

I rememeber back in the OG Evo days we had a few ports of different versions of Sense. Was wondering if anyone is currently working on any. Asking because just got my replacement 3D from Assurion and updated to ICS & Sense 3.6. And I have to say WOW! It's like a whole different phone and it just reminds me just how much Sense 4 blows! No lag, real multitasking... I can't believe this is the same phone from a year ago. Sense 3.6 on the LTE would be perfect. Sense 4 is the worst creation ever.

LOL! But honestly I don't really see any improvements. Looks almost the same but 3.6 runs wayyy smoother and it has "real" multitasking. Not this pitiful excuse that HTC threw into 4. I think 3.6 with our specs would be better. Used to love Sense until this version. Guess its back to Apex and Fancy widgets.
Those sense ports were sense upgrades. Nobody spends time going backwards

Everything you're saying is just... wrong. 3.6 definitely wouldn't be smoother. 3.6 would not run any better on our specs than Sense 4.0 does.
I can't wait for someone to fix this multitasking so that people can stop *****ing about it. I'm seriously getting sick of it. If you don't like it, find a way to fix it yourself, run AOSP, or get a different phone. Complaining endlessly about how the multitasking isn't perfect isn't doing a damn thing. We know that it's a problem. But it seems like we have a handful of threads every day of people complaining about it. And guess what? It doesn't contribute one bit to fixing it.

+1 Seriously the people that complain about it daily need to just trade in their EVO's and get an SGS III or an iPhone

Well in the case of this thread, the OP was using multitasking as a reason to ask whether 3.6 ports were possible. Not just to complain. And honestly, I find it to be a valid argument if the inferior EVO 3D can run 3.6 smoother than our phones run 4.0. That makes no sense!

Smoother doesn't just mean flicking the screen back and fourth and watching the pretty animations ...smooth to me means an app behaving like it was meant to, I.e. only having to open it one time . Oh there I go *****ing about the stock product I paid good money for not working as advertised. Thank you CMX team for pulling HTCs slack. Hey HTC, how about send them what they need to fix the camera and my phone will be perfect

THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS.....All kinds of THIS, lol
I said this before in another thread in the Q&A section that suggested the same thing. It would be like buying a PC right now with Windows 7 and eligible for a FREE upgrade to Windows 8 when it releases, but instead wiping it out completely and putting Vista on it.

Have you actually played around with a updated 3D running 3.6 & ICS? Didn't think so. I installed the same apps on both phones & have been testing it out for the past few hours & I can say without a doubt that the 3D is wayyyy smother than the LTE running 4. Not just flicking the screen but opening apps and all around performance.

I bought a Vista computer soon as it was released and was back on XP within a couple days? Why? Because at that time XP worked wayyyy better than Vista. Your analogy isn't right. Just because something is a upgrade doesn't mean it works better. Now eventually they got the bugs worked out of Vista and it was better but not in the begining. Which is what I am seeing with Sense 4 when compared with 3.6.

Sense 3.0->3.6->4.0 is not analogous with Windows XP->Vista->7.... Just saying, who would go back to 3.0 from 3.6?

That's why I didn't use Vista to XP as an example. If you have brand new computer right now with Windows 7 on it, and you're getting a free upgrade to Windows 8 when it releases (knowing nothing about problems that may occur), would you really take the computer and run VISTA of all operating systems? No, I wouldn't.

Why isnt it? Each was an upgrade from a previous version. I don't know who would go back to 3.0 from 3.6 but I know a whole lot of people who went back to XP from Vista. The bottom line is "IMO" 3.6 runs better on the 3D than our LTE runs 4.0 Not too mention I don't see what if any real improvements 4 brought to table over 3.6. If anything it screwed stuff up. If it was possible I for one would hop back to 3.6 in a flash. You can keep this ram hogging, broken multitasking 4 version.

Well then, smooth to you means differently to what smooth actually means.
And it's not that it's wrong to complain about something that isn't perfect about a phone. But we know that it's a problem. That doesn't mean we have to like it. That doesn't mean that it isn't a bad thing. But complaining about it endlessly serves absolutely no purpose.
"Not working as advertised" is also a misguided statement, as it was never advertised that the phone would be completely perfect and devoid of software errors that can presumably be fixed.
It's the complaining that has to stop. Every single member of this forum is aware of the multitasking issue. It's been discussed to hell and back. It's time to acknowledge that we're all aware of this and either try to find a way to fix it or just shut up about it.
And I find it humorous how 9 out of 10 people here rant and rave about how they don't need stock and the developers here are better than HTC and so on and so forth but they'll still complain about problems that a stock phone has. You have different ways of dealing with this problem and you have the tools to prevent this from happening (for example, AOSP) and yet you still complain. And again, that solves nothing.

I would be a pretty penny that someone on either this site or on Craigslist is willing to trade you an EVO 3D for your EVO 4G LTE if you want to go that route. The fact of the matter is, the developers we have probably aren't going to waste a lot of time (that, in all fairness, will be required) trying to develop a downgraded version of Sense for this phone. Unless you can convince one of the developers that it's a good idea, or pay him/her to make this request possible, you'll need to learn to code it yourself and make it work. The majority of this board is anticipating Android 4.1 with whatever new perks HTC throws in when that update arrives, not about adding a last-gen overlay to a next-gen device.

Fair enough. That was the original point of the post anyway. Seeing if it was possible to port another version of Sense. Then everyone got up in arms like they personally coded Sense 4 and was somehow offended because it is extremely flawed. Oh and if the HTC perks are anything like what we got with ICS on this phone I wouldn't hold my breath.
