I have leaked 2.1 v3 loaded, and have not been pushed the OTA yet. I understand that it has been established that leakers will not be able to upgrade, however I have not read about any leakers that have actually received the push yet, and just curious if they will receive the push (regarsless if it can be installed), or if VZW has bypassed these folks altogether?

It is the same...
The Leak v3 is identical to the OTA.
Um...yeah, it is almost the same, but that's not what I asked. Just wondering if anyone, with any leak, has received the OTA...
Thanks!

It's in my limited understanding that the ota update is downloaded as an update zip and applied during recovery. Can anyone who has this and a little understanding pull this?
If I understand correctly, going from Leak to OTA is not possible. It upgrades the HBOOT whereas the OTA uses the old HBOOT and there isn't a way to downgrade that right now. Sorry.
The leak updated the hboot, the OTA doesn't change the hboot but is unable to install on the 2.1 since its looking to upgrade 1.5.

I understand all of this, but what I want to know is in reality, what has happened? Have leakers (or rooters for that matter) been pushed the update? I.e. has anyone with 2.1 on their phone already received the update notification?

Oh, absolutely. Someone already has the OTA link...

I checked thru all of the comments in that link, and I saw no confirmed cases of 2.1 leak (or root) being pushed the OTA....only 1.5. Maybe I missed something?
Thanks for all your responses so far!

Judging by the lack of responses lately, I'm guessing no leakers have received the OTA push...

I have been waiting for OTA update for my 2.1 v2 leak, so far no luck. I tried reset everything to factory setting, no luck there either. Guess we will just have to wait.
Guys here, I'm not sure if this helps but this is what an HTC rep told me.

Did u have one of the leaks installed originally, or just 1.5 stock?

I have a Fascinate that's only rooted, no other updates done to it. Will the OTA install or does it have to be unrooted first?
you can always try it and find out but I am actually not sure, just try to ota and tell us what happens!

I just downloaded the new Telus update for my HTC one x+( 1.20.661.1). And I finished the update and tried installing it, it proceeded to to turn off my phone and then boot right into bootloader. It does this every time. I had my phone rooted and with an unlocked bootloader but it is now not rooted and it is re-locked. Please help.
You should never OTA update when you're rooted. You'll have to flash old RUU and repeat procedure to unlock and root. Do not update. Wait for xda devs to release flashable.

No root
I'm not even rooted.

Not now you're not. You said you were bootloader unlocked & rooted when you took the OTA. As the previous member said, NEVER take the OTA if you're rooted. Now you have to run the RUU & do everything over again

No, sorry that was badly worded. I was NOT rooted when I took the OTA. But I have been rooted in the past so I know not to take the OTA when rooted. I am not root and was not when I tried the update. Sorry my mistake
Just went back to this phone while i'm getting my other repaired and it was recently updated to the latest update. I'm just curious if it's possible to root and install safestrap on the latest CDMA version?
It should me possible. It was only a small update to fix problems when roaming...I think. It's not like we went above and beyond jellybean. I didn't lose root when I updated and I didn't see any message about root being restored after the update. Try it and see
