what ur experiencing is SOD(sleep of Death), u can change ur kernel to Siyah v4.1.2 and see

I had similar problem on CM10 experimental (20120825). When I woke up the phone was turned off, but I couldn't turn it on. I found that the battery discharged to 0%. >.<
Now, I'm on stock.

that's Sleep of Death bro. Flash another kernel, and don't mess what you don't understand
Swyped from Samsung Galaxy SII

Sleep of death!
I was on siyah 4.0.1 and it happened using that now i'm on Dorimanx v5.70 and the same this moring, Extweaks = default cpu governor: lulzactiveq, Deep-sleep cpu governor = ondemand.
I now it's not a real problem and the roms fine but just thinking it's the sgs2!
Thanks guys

Luzactive as default governer unless tweaked properly might cause issue's, try the default "pegasusq' governer by resetting the extweak profile once and see

Ok Sun90 done that thanks, but the first time it happened using siyah that battery was dead in the morning and using Dorimanx the juice was 100% but phone was off, didn't have to take the battery out just used the power buttong to get it on

Battery runs out quickly - what to do??

Hi. I have a S5830i and my battery runs out quickly. I tryed battery calibration app from market but nothing happened :/ Any suggestions ??
Edit: I used to have root but i use odin to get from razodroid to stock rom.
Calibrating your battery doesn't magically extend it...
Also what do you mean by quickly? Battery drain while playing games? Standby? Or other...
If you're experiencing battery drain in standby lower your cpu frequency (Assuming you have a custom kernel)
Also are you sure you haven't left your phones apps open in the background lol ? < Noob mistake
The usual Xx James xX only on mobile
(XDA Premium)
Which ROM are you using ?

if u want to try some rom..there are roms like simplicity which give good battery life..
as for tweaks, use cpu control to set max-min frequencies and also use "deep sleep" option..app for that is No frills cpu control
try to reduce brightness and set screen turnoff time according to what's best u think!
Optimize RAM usage by killing unecessary apps(scripts like adrenaline, v6 supercharger are good for that)
turn off automatic sync if it's not important to you..
Search for scripts and flash them(must have custom kernel)
There is an awesome app called "Juice Defender".. It's real good and provides lot of options and schedules.. One of the good features is that with rooted phones it installs more tweaks and you can see a substantial increase in battery life!

I am using stock o2 rom without root
may be it's just some app running in background..!
if it's not, then i assume that your expectation level from android phone about battery life is too high
if your battery works for you for one working day, then i assume it's normal (my personal opinion)!
is this happening to your phone ever since you bought the phone or just happening from past few days ?
if this problem is from past few days, then you should uninstall whatever you installed in past few days.
if you badly want good battery life, then i advice you should buy a new battery with more capacity for your phone
or you can also try and download juice defender from market!

I had root on my last rom but not now
first root your phone (espacially use rom). Then download battery calibration ,charge ur phone to %100,and click to calibrate.finally adjust cpu min to 312 max to 832(It's ideal).
no deep sleep
Hey,
I've a problem putting my phone into deep sleep. I've installed the thunderkernel (v2.1), which is capable to put the phone into deep sleep - however nothing happens. I'm using a custom rom (cm7).
I'm using link2sd with a ext2 partition (1GB) to extend the amount of space I've for apps. As far as I know there are no special apps running on my phone which could prevent it from going to deep sleep.
Do you have any suggestions/hints what is wrong or where I could check for the cause?

Hey,
I was using up to now No-thrills CPU Control, I've tested now for the last day OnePowerGuard and I would say there is no difference...
With both applications I'm using the smartassV2 Governor and the cfq scheduler. With both apps deep sleep is omitted and I have ~95-98% percent of the time a cpu frequency of 156MHz.
Any more ideas what I could check or what I could do to get to know which process or setting is preventing the deep sleep?

Sorry, but the default governor is "ondemand" which scales up the cpu very fast and needs ages to go back to lower frequencies. In fact I've solved the problem using Better Battery stats.
The problem were massive wakeups of the driver for the sdhc card (bmc.sdhc.3). I've reformated the second partition on my sd card from ext2 to ext4 and the wakeups were gone.
However you're right: OnePowerGuard is a quite nice application which make some tweaks to the system for people who doesn't want or are not able to tweak it, after I found the cause for the wakeups and fixed it, I'll think I'll prefer this app over No-frills cpu control. Thanks for you suggestion!

[Q] CarbonRom LGOG Performance Control Settings

Let me first apologize for not posting in the correct dev thread, for that I do not have permissions to do so. Also like to thank all the devs for their hardwork, time, & commitment to helping others.
I have recently flashed my LGOG E970 to SnowJB's (Team Carbon) CarbonRom. However, I notice extreme battery drain (~1% every 2-3minutes) using the default Kernel. I tried to adjust the performance control settings to lower the min setting from 1026 to 384 but the settings will not save /stick.
I ended up flashing to Houcha's geeb kernel based on someone's post of a similiar battery drain problem. However, unlike that user I am still experiencing major battery drains. Once again i tried to adjust the Performance Control settings and still have the problem of it not "sticking".
Any ideas on how to get the settings to stick or resolve this crazy battery drain issue?
FYI: LGNPST to JB 4.1.2 -> Rooted -> Unlocked -> Flashed CarbonRom with CWM v6 per OP directions
Thanks in advance
Disable performance control with titanium backup. Download trickster mod app or similar and use that. I had the best battery performance using houstonn's modded 192 mhz kernel.

thank you
Thank you kind Sir for the tip. I ended up freezing the performance controller with mybackup pro. It sort of fix the issue for now, but it still does not save the settings with a reboot. I just have to remind myself to reconfigure trickster every time I power off

I too experience this, however as mentioned above with houstonn's 192mhz kernel, the settings will stick; verified working on my CarbomROM LGOG.

If you find your settings to be stable after continuous use, in Trickster if you hit menu, there's a set on boot option. Just enable it, and I think you can also ask for a notification from Trickster when it does start.

[Q] Reboot issue

Just wondered if anyone can help me with this.
If I have an app open, ie messages and the screen times out, the phone locks and I have to take out the battery to reset. This dones not happen if I am on the home screen though.
I have root and I'm running Foxhound 2.7 I have also tried different ROMs and the same thing happens. I have done a megawipe are reinstalled several times.
Any idea what is going on?

try changing the kernel.
Governor Setting
1-) Which governor are you using. I got similar problems with "zzmove battery" governor.
2-) If you are using undervolt (UV) values dont make any change for 200mHz step. (or using standar -50mV, -75mV UV options try lower values)
Now using Googy Max Kernel and pegasusq governor and got no problem again.

Not undervolting but I'll give that kernel a try as I am using zzmoove at the moment with Boeffla.

Slow home button reaction.

Hello XDA,
I've come across a really annoying issue for me.
I've downloaded android revolution 40.0 and was advised to run boeffla kernel with it as the stock kernel drained the battery too much.
I installed boeffla kernel and it was working fine, all the tweaks worked!
Now there's only 1 issue that needs to be fixed with this kernel/rom. The home button is very unresponsive when the phone is in sleep/standby mode. Things I've tried:
Using different governors
flashing boeffla kernel obviously
changing CPU speeds
Different options within the boeffla app.
Does anyone have any idea why the button reacts so slow as it does? Is it rom related or kernel related?
Any advice on a possible fix would be very welcome.
Don't be shy :silly:

Cm11 draining the battery fast Very

Good Night, installed the rom 11 cm in Winduos and is perfect except for the extremely fast drainage of the battery , I changed the performace profile lowered the frequency of the CPU and nothing . I emphasize that when switching between the CPU manager, and switch to the "Power saving " or other , he returns to the manager " SMARTASSH3 " minutes later by default. Can anyone help me with this problem ? Already I tried some solutions and so far nothing , and it is no exaggeration to ta battery running out too fast ..
I managed to get smartassv2 (setting at startup) with maximum frequency 1008 mhz, but the battery is draining quickly too, and sometimes the phone restarts
if lowering freq doesnt work then use this kernel by androidlover

Then decrease cpu freq to 1008 nd use ondemandx and sioplus or cfq and disable location nd location permission from privacy guard and disable all animation . now u ll experience better battery life
ondemand=ok, but i/o sioplus not change ( in device>deadline)
cosmic rom I had installed before consumes less battery. its load approx. 24 hours (maybe a little more). Now I need turn off wi-fi to use more time Cm11. kernel updates have failed to solve the problem. But this device has never had good battery, too.
