About storage - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

is there any app that can give me more GB to storage ?
and what sony have selutions for that the XS cant use a memory card to have more GB size

Drop box (5gb I think) Google drive, box (upto 50gb) sky drive (7gb if you have a live id) but all these will use wifi OR your cellular data plan, not great if your on a capped allowance or in an area with slow data speeds.

[Q] Accessing phone storage (internal & SD) Via Wifi?

Noticed there are a few apps out there that let you copy/move/delete/access files from both internal storage and SD card to a pc via wifi, wondered if anyone had tried any of these apps with any success. If so, what is the speed like compared to usb connection?
Thanks in advance to anyone able to give any advice.
File Expert is great. It lets you setup an FTP server that you can connect to on your desktop. Transmission speeds should be in the area of 10 MBps depending on the connection quality.
Works quite well cheers, and is free. Thanks for the help fella. Any other recommends peeps?

I have a micro SD card in the SD slot and also have another micro SD card in a USB reader in the 3g slot, they work perfect together. I just have to remember to turn on the 3g setting when I want to access the card. I hope that made sense...... i'll try and upload some pics later.

with micro SD and 3g connector it is ok
but here it is 3g connector and usb key on cable host
I see what you mean. If you plug an flash drive into the 3g port, it'll show up as a USB drive. But then if you plug another USB drive into the host port on the side, it disconnects the first one and starts using the new one. It's unable to recognize both at the same time. Since I've got a hard drive version I don't know exactly how the flash ones work. Maybe they have an extra bit of code that allows them more then one external storage medium so that the flash card can work in parallel to the already built in memory. But as far as I can see, there is no way to for it to see both USB devices at the same time.
yes the filemanager see on external USB !

Click to collapse
So I would not be able to transfer files directly from a CF card reader to an external hard drive, using the archos G9 as a pass through? I'd have to transfer the files from the card reader to internal hd, then from the internal to the external?
Thanks for the help.

[Q] Mount internal Storage with UMS?

I'm using an EVO LTE, but this question should apply to anyone using an Android device that has internal storage and an external card slot.
Let me preface by saying *I know this has been asked before*, but the threads that I could find change direction before my question is answered, because I doubt that anyone has posted with the same purpose. Allow me to explain:
I'm trying to use my EVO LTE as my sole media player (specifically, the internal storage). Connecting it to the PC and getting the files onto it are no big deal (of course I do need to use MTP, which I hate). Now on to the problem:
I'd like to be able to use the device connected to my car's USB port. Being able to pick through my media using the car stereo controls is a big plus for me, and worked great when I had an iPod (which I don't anymore, not getting into that).
Of course, the car stereo's USB connection doesn't support MTP, only Mass Storage, at least as far as I can tell (It's a stock stereo in a Fit). I get a compatibility type of error currently when I try to connect my phone using the 'HTC Sync Manager' USB option in the phone (which mounts the device using MTP). The 'Disk Drive' option of course only mounts the external card.
SOOOO, what I'd love to be able to do is mount the internal storage via USB Mass Storage. I'm not sure if this is currently doable, but my forum-scouring to date leads me to believe that it is not. Any ideas out there? I'm rounding third on offering a bounty for this.
No takers?
I have 0.5 BTC or $50, your choice, for anyone that can enable me to connect to the internal storage using Mass Storage and get my car to read it. I really don't want to buy another iPod...

Install USB Internet Modem On Android Phone

Hii Experts
I was just thinking that if one can install a USB Datacard/Internet Modem on an android phone using USB to Micro USB convertor.
It may seem weird but if it can be done a lot of people will be saving a lot of money.
I have a USB internet data card which I use on my laptop & it has unlimited plan. Usually at home I share my laptop internet using connectify & connect my Android phone to that. But if the laptop is not switch on or I am outside I have to use career services which is very costly.
So I was thinking that if I already have a USB Modem with unlimited connection & an android phone with micro USB, there could be some way to connect it with USB to Micro USB convertor & install it on my phone directly & use it on the go.
Already android tablets are supporting USB internet modems.

Foxfi/tether question regarding boost data cap.

I am using a Samsung j700p the boost Mobile updated to 6, it has been rooted. So I set up PDAnet on my computer (osx). I have it connected using FoxFi hotspot, all is well it's much faster on my computer vs the dsl I'm subjected to otherwise, I notice though that the Android hotspot icon shows up in the notification or status bar as well. My question is just a fancy way to turn on my Android hotspot or is actually hotspoting in a different way that doesn't affect my 8gb j norally have with boost. Boost offers a completely unlimited data plan for 50$, the only cap it has is for the hotspot feature which is 8gb.
I haven't had any luck with the usb tether option however I haven't tried too hard. My goal is to get around the 8gb cap or get the usb tethering or Bluetooth? Options to function well.
