I can't use the flip for speaker option on my rooted Amaze. My wife's stock Amaze works fine but my speaker won't turn on when flipped over during a call. Any ideas? I hate when stuff like this happens, gives the wife ammo in her fight against rooting my phone.

Calibrate your g sensor and try again.
nope, didn't work. Any other suggestions?

I finally got around to buying a bluetooth for my LTE. Got it in the mail and could not figure out how to pair the stupid thing. After spending 30 minutes on Plantronics web site, HTC and youtube I finally tried pairing it with my wife and moms phone. Worked perfect. MY LTE however will not see ANY bluetooth conection. The bluetooth radio is completely dead! I guess it has been this way from day 1 just no way of knowing without having a BT headset. Guess it is time to back things up and take back to Best Buy for my 3rd LTE!
I still have people complain about the microphone cutting out and sounding like I am talking in a tin can every once in a while then it comes back to normal. Very frustrating qaulity control issues with the LTE!
Are you rooted and running a ROM?

No known issues with BT.

Took it back and confirmed BT is dead, no send or discover. Replacement on the way.
Fingers crossed on the 3rd try!
Had no issues pairing one of our LTE's to a Bluetooth device. It was all stock, too. Hope your new one works.
Got new phone back 1 day later (actually refurbished) works better than the other two so far. Mic is picking up good and BT is working. Very impressed with speed of Best Buy Black Tie protection, not crazy about getting a loaner phone but it was only 1 day.
Is anyone else getting a really annoying rattle or buzz in the earpiece when the call volume is turned up above 60% or so? I have no sound manager apps installed or anything of the like. I have had the phone for one week as of today.
Yes, same thing here. ATT OX+. Un-Un rooted. That and ppl say the voice quality sucks compared to my 2yr old EVO. Starting to wonder....

Mine is going from fine to bad and back and forth. No rhyme or reason.
Update on the earpiece. I was just about to swap it out but then during the call it stopped buzzing and became clear. It did this when I took it away from my face and did something onscreen during the call. If it was a hardware issue, it would do it every call and during the whole call in my opinion. I'll leave it as is no app installs etc for 24 hours and see if it changes back.

Anyone else hear something rattling around when you tap on the back around the camera and micro SIM???
Sent from my HTC Droid DNA
Not me, mine's extremely solid (except for the fact that my charging port cover likes to stick out a bit..). Maybe the SIM tray isn't in all the way? Try pushing on that a bit and see if it helps.
If you tap the phone and feel a slight vibration in the phone (and may hear it), that is probably the vibrate motor.
Otherwise, my phone is extremely solid, probably the most solid phone I've had.
Hmm I'm go Verizon and compare with their display its really driving me nutz
Sent from my HTC Droid DNA
well i went to verizon to show them the rattling and they claim that its the camera bezel and they all do that. I said bs and wanted to exchange and they said no it doesn't hinder the performance of the phone.. lol so i said ok i want to return it. mind you after paying full retail. SO they go back and open 3 new dna's and sure enough all of them rattled when you tap on the top ??... wtf i thought i had owned them but they owned me. are you sure yours doesn't rattle?
I checked mine and there is a slight rattle and from what I can tell its the power button on top.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
Its just the way the phone is made it doesn't bug me because I don't tap on my phone 24/7. Other then that its a solid phone way better then my S3.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
Yeah, I guess there is a slight rattle. I honestly never noticed it and probably never will. Who bangs their phone that much? It sounds to me like it's the power button. I'm not too concerned.

Its the camera that is making that noise... I hear it on all my devices... I believe its the piece of the lense that moves for the auto focus because the camera makes the same noise when focusing in and out

My girlfriend and I both have Rezounds she however likes to talk with hers between her face and shoulder while busy doing other things. When she does so she sounds very distant and barely audible. Is there anyway to anyway to get around this? She is rooted running CleanRom DE 1.4 if that helps.
I've had multiple cln rezounds and everyone of them I've had, ive gotten complaints about my voice going in and out, unfortunately i think it's just how the rezound was made.
sent from my htc rezound s-off running viperrez with snuzzo 2.2 kernel...
I think you should try updating to either OTA or global firmware and trying some different roms based on those. If it only gets halfway better that would probably still be a big difference. It won't fix a hardware issue but just software may make some difference.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium
The problem is that the rezound uses two mics and a proximity sensor to tell when your face is right up against it. Too much movement of the phone and it switches between modes...causing the audio to sound super compressed for a couple seconds.
Get her a Bluetooth she can hide under her hair

I had the same problem with the mic and Bluetooth. I found turning off voice privacy worked for me.

As soon as I have the chance I am AT LEAST going to get her onto the global update. I think while I am at it I might as well s-off her phone before that maybe get her on a decent new rom.
I wonder if using one of the asop roms where you need to tweak the proximity sensor anyway if there is something in doing that which could help? *shrug*
When it comes to using a Bluetooth she has one but she never thinks about it so she rarely wears hers.

I tried the voice privacy and haven't noticed a big difference maybe a little bit but a little bit is better than nothing I suppose. Thanks for the suggestion.
I have consistent problems on speakerphone with people saying they can't hear me. I had a bear motion slim case on it but I'm not clear if that is creating any issues. Is there a hidden microphone anywhere that the case may be covering? Or do I need a warranty replacement?

It's weird, I've had certain people tell me this as well but others can hear me fine. Not sure what's going on, but I know that when I'm talking with someone who has trouble hearing me, if I put in my headphones it solves the problem. Maybe something to do with noise cancellation/echo reduction?
Do you have a case on or anything? I only have the issue on speakerphone.
Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
my girlfriend constantly nags about it when shes on speakerphone that i sound like im far away idk what it is
Bump. I tested with skype audio test last night with no issues. I can't figure out if there is really an issue
Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
Stop trying to find issues where there isn't. The speaker on this device is horrible, so who would actually persistently talk using it

That makes zero sense. Especially since I'm referring to the microphone

I get the same complaint. Not sure why. My case doesn't cover the microphone from what I can tell

I've been messing around with this more and it seems like the bottom mic on my device is really directional in the sense that it only seems to pick up audible sound when you talk right into it. It's definitely barely picking up anything when the phone is held normally as if for a call. The speakerphone mic seems to work fine.
EDIT: I finally took it back to the store and swapped it out for a new one. It was definitely a hardware issue as my new one sounds much better.
Same issue here and I'm not using a case.
On speakerphone only, I get complaints every single time that people can't hear me to the point where I have to switch back to handheld.
Noise reduction currently off but it's the same either way. Gonna pop into Tmobile on the way home and see what they say.
Anyone else get a warranty replacement?

Go into voice recorder and be sure the microphone setting is set to 'normal'.

For those who have a problem with this, I've been dealing with this issue since day 1. It seems to be a T-mobile problem and NOT a problem with the phone itself.
The software is set up as half-duplex and not full-duplex as it should.
That means that if the person on the other end of the line is talking or making noise and you start talking, they're not going to be able to hear you. I've tried this with my phone and a replacement phone. Same thing happened. That means that you will continuously cut in and out.
I'm currently talking to T-mobile and they have a ticket open with me to work with developers on the issue. I have no idea what happened but, as someone who uses speakerphone all the time, it's a MAJOR pain.
If anyone has more experience with this sort of issue, I'd love to hear it.
Hi Guys,
I'm having a problem along the same lines. I moved to Tmo a month or so ago when the S5 came out (ported from Sprint). The first couple of days I had great coverage but intermittently when I talked to someone, they'd tell me it sounded like I was in a tin can. At times it was hollow or echo-y. It kind of stopped, but then started up again. To me, everything sounds perfect. Now, randomly when I talk to someone, sometimes they can hear me without any problem, and sometimes they can barely understand me because of so much feedback coming through (even though I can hear them perfectly).
Tmo gave me a new sim card to use and said to wipe my cache to make sure everything was good. I did that and it worked great for about a day. Now, it's random again. I call land line and it sounds like I'm in a tin can and when they talk it's lots of feedback. I call friend on att and they have loads of feedback when they talk but perfectly fine on my end. I called someone on Tmo and had the HD appear on the call and it sounded like he was talking through a pillow.
It's so weird I can't figure out what's going on, but it's getting really annoying trying to talk to someone and end up calling them multiple times just to see if I can get a clear connection.
Bluetooth in my car seems to work perfectly for each end, though.
I'm on stock rom, rooted w/ philz recovery, and have not updated to the new ANES.
I don't use a case.
Wondering if that would help out.
Check this out might explain the mic issue
