At some point in the recent past, I started seeing only the SD card whenever I connected my phone for USB mass storage.
I thought it was just a fluke or messed up PC drivers or something, but now it looks like my internal srtorage is straight up gone.
I've re-flashed CM10 and have even rolled back to an older build, but it's still gone. All my music was on it, and the music is nowhere to be found.
It's gone even when I mount USB storage from within CWM recovery.
Apparently there is "internal storage" field in the Storage section of Settings (other than the one for apps), but it just says 10.69GB free of 10.69GB.
I went into Root Explorer to look for the /mnt/emmc directory; it's just gone. No trace.
How did I manage to screw this up?
EDIT: Apparently a nandroid backup still successfully wrote to the internal storage. It just doesn't seem to want to mount in the OS or when connected as mass storage...

for some reason when my phone boots up i get a "blank internal storage" message and when i click on it it says "Format internal storage, erasing all files stored there? Action cannon be reversed!"
It started coming up after i installed the 211 ota manually through recovery. I'm afraid to hit the format option because idk if it will erase something that will screw the phone up. I don't have anything saved on the internal memory since i got into a fastboot failure last night and got everything totally wiped aside from the external SD card. I tried doing a factory reset and cleaning cache but the message still appears. If i go into "my files" and click on internal storage it says "Internal phone storage is Unmounted. Mount Internal phone storage to read files."
How could it be unmounted and how can i re-mount it? If i remember correctly, it has that option in safestrap but i only have the stock recovery right now and it cant do that. So do i need to install safestrap and give it a shot?
edit: i just decided to take the chance and format internal storage and now its working as well as my gallery no longer says its in mass storage mode when its not plugged in haha. I guess they were tied together.
I am unable to access/see the internal SD when I plug in to USB and choose USB Mass Storage option. I can access the external SD, but internal now refuses to mount. I rooted for the first time about a month ago and have not had the time to do anything further beyond a Titanium backup. Everything is present and working properly, I can use a file explorer to see the internal memory, but cannot access or manipulate via PC. My Computer presents two drives (internal and Ext SD), but clicking on the one that should be internal gets me the popup "please insert disc into drive..." This did not happen at the same time as root, have been rooted several weeks before problem appeared.
Im having a problem with my internal SD cards. Im able to see it via Root Explorer and access write, delete all that good stuff. Now i have my music on this internal and when i open PowerAmp, it tells me that its not mounted. Also, when i hook it up to a pc only my external shows up. This just started happening not sure why. I looked under the /mnt and the emmc folder is mounted. Any advice at to what i can look at to fix this
ok I have figure it out!! What i did was boot into recovery and did a USB mount in recovery of the internal SD. Windows came up and said you need to format blah blah blah. So i went and did a quick with the fat32 file format and everything was good again. the phone is able to see and use it and also comes up in Windows. Who would have thought a windows computer would have fixed a linux issue(ok wasnt really a linux issue but still)...i guess pigs can fly lol
Your internal card? Did it not screw up your phone? I thought (probably assumed) a lot of stuff on the internal was necessary for operating the phone normally.
The rezound has a built in 10GB "SD card" separate from the system stuff which is on a different chip or partition(not sure which) which is like 2gb in size
Hello,
I recently rooted/flashed cwm onto my galaxy tab 10.1. I have also loaded the most recent CM 10.1. Everything is running fine, but i am having issues accessing some of the files on my internal storage. When i plug into the computer via USB and mount it as MTP it only shows internal storage folder. When i go into that it displays a new interal storage, with empty files. The problem is, it shows that half of my storage is being used up, although when i go into the files, it is nearly empty.
I believe when i flashed this new rom, it created a new partition. I know these files are still on the device it self, i can boot into clockwork mod and if i select "install from zip" it brings me to all of my previous files i had on the internal storage. From that area, i can go into the 0/folder and the contents of that file is what i see when trying to access my internal storage. Since i am in recovery, theres not much i can do with the files other than verify that they still are hiding on my SD card. I have tried multiple file browsers and connecting to several PCs, but none can get me into the parent folder of the 0/folder.
Any help is appreciated. I would really love to be able to access my full internal storage, as i have pictures and videos i can remove to free up space.
So here's the situation. My sister has a Galaxy S2 which is rooted and has CM11 Carbon rom on it. She's been using it for months now without problems. One day she comes to me and says that her songs are gone so I open up the storage to see whats up. Apparently, the storage wasn't showing up in the settings and it only had an option to format internal storage. I checked with a file manager and it also turned out to be just like an empty folder. Tried to connect it to the pc but it also just shows the external SD card and not even recovery works, returns the can't mount message. I figured the storage is not dead but rather not being mounted as the system and app storage, and the phone itself, are working fine, since those should also be taken from internal memory? So my question is, what's going on? How can I recover the files from it?
