Heres what happened, I went to the stock browser to chat because I was just bored and suddenly, I got a Google Currents force close followed by a GApps force close and even with the other force closes like acore.
I shut down the device and then switch it on again and it became unbootable so I tryed to use the reset button but all I got was a red flash so I went to the recovery and wiped the device and it booted.
I found out it was due to a R/O Database and something trying to access the DB and write to it even if its R/O.
EDIT: The rotation gets messed up like landscape becomes portrat while the force close process begins :sly:
Did anyone experience this issue?
The issue is coming more often like a few minutes ago but bootable after but this time the only force closes was from the System Apps.

Got a gtab few days ago and installed vegan ginger. Mostly good and working, but a few minor issues:
1. Everytime i reboot the tab wifi is off even if on when shutdown. Each time i turn on i must manually turn on wifi.
2. Dolphin hd browser crashes a bit often, but each time it happens i do not get force close message or application killed message, i get no message. It just disappears and when i relaunch none of the tabs i had open are there, so its defintly auto closing for some reason.
3. Even with market fix i am missing some popular market apps. So far i have seen i cannot find official ebay or amazon app, and clicking links for those from app brain, when it trys to take me to market for the app it says cannot find it.
Also nowinstock product links in browser say page cannot be displayed, but on my home windows 7 pc the links work fine.
If it's a fresh install, you might have to nvflash it and start over.
I don't have any of your problems on my Ginger yet.
also dd you do a factory reset after installing? i forgot to do it on mine and it was hung on boot up for a while. then it hit me and after everything was working great.
I did both wipe data and wipe cache after loading the rom, is there another step for factory reset?
Hey everyone, I'm working on my first Android app and ran into an issue that I haven't been able to solve after hours of searching...
When testing my app in the emulator, it launches perfectly fine the first time. However, if I exit the app using the Back button (which sends it to the Stop state I believe), if I try to reopen the app, it instantly force closes.
The error comes up on the setContentView(R.layout.main); part of the code inside the onCreate. LogCat has a number of errors like "Error inflating" and stuff.
I've only done WP7 development, so Android is all new to me, but according to all the code demos, I'm doing everything right... I can't figure out why it keeps crashing like this! After it force closes, I can launch it like normal again...
I've attached the archive file of my project so you guys could look at the code. There must be something going wrong with it trying to restore from the savedInstanceState, but all the samples I've looked at don't do anything differently! I don't understand what could be going wrong!
Thanks!
Ahh apparently I was asking too much of Android and was getting out of memory errors. Funny thing is it works fine on android 2.2 but if I try it on 4.0 it always crashes and NEVER opens.
Time to rewrite stuff...

Be aware that, on Android, the second launch is often different from the first.
When you 'exit' after your first launch your activities are all destroyed (if you really exited) but the process remains in memory along with some resources and other objects.
This means that your second launch is not a fresh start like the first. For example, if you didn't clean up your activities properly when they closed after your first launch, that could cause a problem upon second launch.
You can see all of this in DDMS. Note that your process is still around after you exit. You can hit stop on the process to kill it (though Android will re-launch it in some circumstances).
Hi All,
I have 2x Galaxy S3's, a work one and my own one, my personal one is rooted (to allow titanium backup to do it's thing), it also has ClockworkMod running on it. It's got the stock rom still.
I'm an android developer day to do, and now when developing my app, if I'm using my work phone and it crashes on the phone it says Your App has crashed, click okay to force close.
However, on my rooted phone it doesn't do that, it just crashes and I have to restart the phone just stays with the notification top bar still there and working (clock changes and can see wifi sending/receiving) . But i can't close the app, can't use the home button etc
Does anyone know the solution to this? It's quite infuriating at times.
youtube link + ?v=3mawem-refw here's a video of it happening
When i open pretty much any app, it either crashes or continues to function properly EXCEPT when it needs a keyboard. For example Chrome, I try to type in a web address and then it just sits there waiting for the keyboard to open, before crashing. This is also happening with games, Such as Clash Of Clans, which crash upon loading.
I'm not running any 3rd Party Launchers/Keyboard, completely stock HTC Sense.
I was running Themer but uninstalled it about 2 weeks ago
I was running SwiftKey (legit) when this started, I turned it off, and has done nothing, apps still crash etc.

Is your phone rooted? This happened to my friend (keyboard wasnt working, apps crashing) because he flashed the wrong gapps into CM 10.2, but i know you said it is completely stock sense. If you didnt root or flash an incorrect gapp, I would factory reset. If you do, BACKUP first. There might be a better solution than my kind of last resort deal, but it shouldn't hurt.
So this is my old phone that my mom is using since January. Before giving it to her I did a factory reset, and it worked fine. Recently since the February security update the phone freezes when typing. It will open random apps, and requires a force restart to stop the freeze. When you go to clear the tasks in the manager and restart the phone, they are all there again open (Facebook, games, camera etc). Her Google maps app was running in the background when the window popped up saying "Process System is responding. Do you want to close it?". Neither button will work, it stays frozen on the screen. A hard restart brought the phone to bootmode. Should I run it in safe mode to see if it's an app or? Was wondering if anyone has had some similar experience.
Stock rom, no root.
