Did you just say your phone is running ICS (ice cream sandwich) AND JB(jelly bean)? Where do I get this awesome hybrid ROM?

1. we have 12gb of internal storage. More than enough for anything, if its not, then you got WAY too much crap on your phone.
IME moving data and crap to external, will slow things down.
2. JB is still in development. it is how it is for the time being.
Install Script Manager from the Play store.
create a textfile (with .sh file extension) with the following contents:
Code:
#!/system/bin/sh
mount -o bind /path/to/externalsd/picture/folder/ /path/to/internalsd/picture/folder/
Obviously change the paths to the ones relevant to your phone.
In script manager find that file and set it to run as superuser (Su option) and at boot (Boot option), and make sure "is script" is selected.
Make sure to move anything in the internal sd folder out of it before you do this, it will be inaccessible afterward because it will be essentially a symlink to the folder on your external sd.
This is a work-around, I don't have JB so I don't know if it has a built-in option for what you want.

I was wondering if anyone knows the save location for final fantasy III? I have a saved game on my tablet and would love to be able to put it on my phone for when I don't have my tablet handy! Any help would be appreciated!
I don't have that game but based on common knowledge and the apps id in the play store start looking in
/data/data/com.square_enix.android_googleplay.FFIII_GP
Is your tablet rooted? If so maybe you can use titanium backup and copy the folder onto your phone then restore data

I was about to ask the same thing...
not rooted though.
shadowofdarkness is right, if you go to that folder there is a folder called files. In that folder is a file called save.bin. I just took the file from my galaxy tab and put it on my galaxy nexus, and it worked fine.

That folder doesn't exist.. hmm
What is OBB file? I see a huge file in there.. something like 170mb or so.. not sure if the save is included in that or not

He is not talking about /sdcard/Android/data/ folder he is talking about /data/data/ folder which is accessible from root. It is there I just checked myself.
The obb folder is the file downloads when you first buy the game. It has the pictures and music and everything. That folder is on the sdcard, the folder you are looking for is not on the sdcard, but on the phone's internal memory. You will see folders for all of the game/apps you have there.

can anyone upload their save.bin file who is somewhat farther along? (I just defeated medusa at tower of odin.) I lost all of my progress
I can upload mine, but I am not that far. As of right now I just got the enterprise from the Vikings.
Let me know if you want it.

The OBB file should not be concern of yours. I predict it's a file with games resources in a database.
Just use DataSync mate, works wonders for what you need

Could you post that? I am right after getting the ship and have managed to get myself stuck after riding around the place on a Chocobo. I found a glitched area and can't get out of it.
I think I did the same thing. I got stuck up in a waterfall earlier today on the chocobo and had to close the game and reload my save.

The waterfall where there's a lake above it that has a shadow-y fish in it? Yeah that's the spot.

There is only one Application with which you can view the content of data folder already mentioned few messages before, and it's "Root Explorer" Application. You have to buy it, because I personally have tested lot of file managers and this one is the unique which do what you want whith simplicity. Hope that will help you.

I actually prefer Total Commander over Root Explorer for a few reasons, and it is also free. But either one will let you get into the /data directory to get at the save.

hi I have TMobile gs3 I just wonder how can i move some of apps to external sdcard?
I can do it in my gs2 before.
Get the app called App 2 SD
Rom toolbox will help you with that as well and it has a bunch of other cool features like a file explorer, direct downloads of roms, etc.

Is because of how Samsung named it, it name it as ext SD card, and most apps look for SD card which internal in our device , meaning we need to get support for it if is possible

Yes you can, just with this S3 it can't. i'm not sure Sammy disabled it or missed it. with S2 I can move apps to sd with 2.3 and 4.0
now i'm almost out of space if Sammy not gonna fix this issue soon i'm selling it
Could you just rename the folders if you are rooted, or would that screw things up?
Would love to know what to do myself. I have the 16 gig and of that 16 gigs I only have 12.05 gigs to put apps on. If I was only putting smaller apps on it would be a lot but with the games I have on my phone like NOVA 3 and Modern combat 3 use a lot of space. I got the 16 gig expecting to be able to move my apps like I have been in the past, now I wish I had the 32.
I have around 3gb free of internal storage. How is everyone managing their storage? Are yall using any apps to delete cache files? Refer to the pic for what my storage looks like.

Not many big apps installed eh?
Install a couple big games and watch internal storage go bye-bye. So much for letting the OS do its thing.
I use DirectoryBind to redirect big apps to my sdcard. App isn't perfect, but it works.

Actually I thought I had a decent amount of apps installed. I have 16 games but I dont play the big ones usually since I hate most on screen controls. Thanks for the app though.

Some larger games have the option within the game itself; Bard's Tale for example. The option was offered when downloading the 1.8 GB datafile. The game still partly installs to the internal sdcard.

How'd you get Miscellaneous files so low? I have system memory in miscellaneous files. That can't be moved can it?
Not sure, but it may be because I am on Sprint and have android 4.1.1. If you notice, my 16 GB internal memory is reported as 10.95 GB. The other screenshots from VZW report the full 16 GB.

Does anyone know how to make this work on safestrap? Folder mount reads o mb for all of my apps and if I try to connect the folders from internal to my ext, my games always try to download the data as if there isn't any there. I'm stumped

I got a woody when I read your thread title. :cyclops:
Anyhoo, I posted this exact problem in here some weeks ago and so far no solution. The DIR structure for the source is completely wack I think to allow FolderMount to work out of Rom Slots with Safestraps. Nobody has had any answers to it.

I changed the title to a question. Lol my bad. I would love to figure this out. I made the source folder ss/emulated/0/Android/obb/com.... and got it to pin on folder mount, but the game still doesn't pick it up. :banghead:

Seems like it won't work. So a better question is... Is there an alternative to folder mount that we can use to store our game files on our external sd that will work with safestrap???

Im dealing with this error "unkown error -24" after trying to install SoundHound ∞ from playstore. I had it installed before and trying to install back and cant get around to do it.
There's many threads on this saying I should delete files from previous installation, I already tried deleting data/data but I cant find com.android.soundhound or anything. A search for "soundhound" on my whole SDCard comes out empty.
Where does soundhound saves its files?
