trouble getting back to stock. ruu? - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Hello Community,
I rooted using the Regawmod method and went ahead and flashed a rom but forgot to make a backup of my stock rom. I'm having trouble with this rom and want to go back to stock now but I have S-on. Forgive a newb for this question but how can I run an RUU to restore this to stock? I have a crack in my screen and want to send it back but not until i restore it. Any information will be greatly appreciated!
Thx

Relock the bootloader then run the RUU

[Q] Un-rooting

Hi I am new to android and tried this method to unroot my 3D from this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193540
I went through the procedure but it updated about 4 of the packages then rebooted and was still on the Synergy rom.
I have to take the phone back to Sprint for repairs. I did make a backup of the stock rom from recovery. If I restore that and s-on will the unroot it or is there more involved? I have had the phone about 3 weeks.
What hboot version do you have? And try this too...
I have 1.40
Thanks for the reply
Got it. I had to restore my original stock rom from recovery that I made before permament root, then used the RUU updater from sprint. the did the fastboot command to S-ON.
Done, no more root.
Glad it worked.

[Q] [S-Off] Cannot restore to a RUU on a WIND Mobile Amaze

After hours of searching through the forums, I'm stuck. I'm trying to get my phone to S-Off, but the procedure requires me to have a stock RUU. However, I had already updated to ICS previously (I'm currently using the JB ROM, and I want S-Off for the resale value). I've unlocked, and relocked my bootloader while trying to flash the RUUs and nothing worked.
On the OEM Shipped roms thread, the three RUUs for Wind mobile are an OTA update (Unflashable with stock bootloader or 4ext), and two GB .exe flashers (Unable to flash as hboot is too new).
If I can somehow change my CID with S-On, I can flash to the t-mobile rom. Alternatively, if I can somehow downgrade my hboot I think I can flash the GB .exe roms. Does anyone know how to do this or is there another solution that I missed?
no you cannot super cid the phone while s-on, but here's a thread that might be able to help you flash back to stock

Dear All,
I have made a back up of my custom rom through 4ext recovery software and tried different customs rom but failed to update my amaze 4g. Now I want to bring back my mobile to its stock rom from the backup I created. I tried to do it through 4ext but it says that there is no file on the SD card where as the file is still lying there.
Any help in this regard is very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Help I need serious help! rezound won't boot!

i did the easy step by step easy noob root guide. then i did permanent rcovery and root. then i tried installing custom rom, when that didn't work i ued the s-on zip on the user guide. when i realized i wanted s-off completely it was too late, i already flashed counterstrike rom 3.1, so i tried jepuntobear s-off meathod ignoring the warning that you must be on stock rom, now im stock on this jopuntobear boot up. so i dedcided that going back to stock by locking bootloader aggain and using android police stock rom on the sd card would save me but no luck. i screwed up big time will someone please help me undo everything and help me get this phone like it was never messed with? all this for gsm capabilities.
Did you flash the ROM again in fastboot?

Reset to Stock/3.10.502.2/No S-Off

Hello all,
I usually don't like posting new threads as you can find all you need by searching, but I believe I have a particular situation.
I rooted my phone a while ago using the appropriate methods and then flashed this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2440315
I didn't recognize until now, as I am trying to return to stock rom and stuff in order to clean install the new official AT&T update, that this rom somehow also updated my firmware to 3.10.502.2 but I am not S-Off. I didn't/don't know how it upgraded my firmware to this w/o being S-Off but it is. So I have read that if I try and install any other stock rom than my touch screen won't work. And in order for that to work, I think I'll have to gain S-Off and then flash an earlier firmware then flash a rom, but I don't really want to be S-Off for this phone.
Also another stupid mistake I did was not create a nandroid backup of my stock everything before flashing
So in order to accomplish my goal I believe my 2 options are to either gain S-Off, flash an ealier firmware (like 1.26.502.12) and then flash a stock rom or I saw a link that had a stock nandroid backup: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2272893
that I can maybe use to restore but will this restore my firmware too?
Any help would be appreciated
Download the 3.17.502.3 RUU and update that way. Backup your data, the RUU method wipes internal storage.

Sorry it took me so long to respond but thank you for the help. I appreciate it
Can I still update that way even though I'm still S-On?

Yes, RUU updating is meant to be done with S-ON.

I won't post steps, but I'll point you in the right direction. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
If you are to flash a stock Rom, it shouldnt leave you rooted, since every stock Rom comes without superuser/superSU, which primarily is what gives you root access. Therefore, find a stock Rom and flash that.
As for custom recovery, I'm not exactly sure how to restore that. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to find, download, and flash the stock HTC recovery , for your phone.
Finally, for the bootloader lock, you'll need to completely restore that so it doesn't say TAMPERED/RELOCKED/UNLOCKED upon booting into bootloader.
Google how to do that. In fact, Google everything you need. That's what you should've done in the first place. Google is your best friend. After all, you're using an android phone.
