Most stable and fast ICS rom (Xperia mini) - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hi guys, I have been expirimenting with many custom ics roms and some are really nice. I especially liked MIUI, but it had some problems like root permission not working for all apps, and other stuff. So I am looking for something that reaches the best in quality of use. What is in your opinion the most stable and fast ICS rom for Xperia Mini? Include the kernel if you want to....

Try cm9.1 with fxp kernel ...

fast, smooth, light, effisien..I feel..

cpu min : 134mhz
max : 1018mhz
governor : smartassv2
I/O scheduler : noop

I used Real ICS Lite 3 and I liked it quite a bit, but it was quite heavy and slow. I will give version 4 a go and tell you.
As for CM9 there are things that shouldn't be there, like bad preview on camera, no hd recording on video.

Try stock ics with mesa kernel

I prefered to use Smultronic 2.0 with Krsh Kernel
It is a Fast ROM and has Good Battery life
Sent from my Xperia Mini using XDA Premium

I used, stock when I updated to ICS for the frist time. I did a clean install, but the phone kept freezing and stuff, very often. With the Mesa kernel, you don't have such problems?

Mesa kernel is pretty good... OC ^1.8 GHZ LIVE WITH WALKMAN

Stock ROM/MESA kernel.
And uninstall what you don't need.
CM9 had way too low volume even when using Volume+ app plus many problems with camera and DATA/GPS.A lot of times I had to reboot to make them work again...

I don't like SONY ICS at all period. I have used .431..587,cm9,real ICS,minicmsandwich. All of these are slow and freezes a lot. Battery life has also gone downhill. Not to mention problems with games. I am currently using official .69 fb firmware with my LWW and I couldn't be much happier.

If you want a fast, lagless, not resource hungry ROM, then switch to GB. ICS is damn heavy. I used it for a couple of month, then reverted to GB again.
Try something like Spartan ROM, flush78, LEWA OS is pretty fast (based onCM7.2 though)
Every ICS ROM is going to be heavy in my opinion....
Or just wait fo a stable JB ROM...

real ics r4 and Krsh /mesa/raga kernel(its your choice)... i find it the most stable and fastest rom till now in term of ICS.. also the dialer respond is better than the stock one and you will get a lot of internal memory..just give it a try..

I have tried Real ICS Lite r4, and I must say it's a big improvement from r3. I am satisfied with it till now and I will keep it for the time being. !!!

I've found smultronic the best amongst ICS ROMs. Paired with mesa/krish kernel you can't go wrong. If you want a leaner, faster ROM, downgrade to gb.

Exactly what i wanted to say.Wait for a stable JB, till then use one of spartan or flush78, or you can modify your stock rom, that's what i did.Uninstall apps install scripts and modify the look of your rom. Then you'll have your rom exactly the way you like it, plus learn some things
P.S. GB and rage kernel = very stable

I'm thinking too of reverting back to GB.
I have the feeling that it was faster, smoother and less battery consumption.
However what about ICS new Feauture of better GPU overall perfomance, not that I play any games at all but i'm just saying..
Anyway I'm thinking of HaSa HyperbeamNewEdition rom ,,!
What do you guys think?
I don't want preety, I WANT STABLE, i don't mind even if the Boot Animation is a gay couple kissing, or Bieber, (preety much the same), i just want to open my phone and see everything working fast, stable , smooth and bug free.
* I can always go back to my Nokia N95 8Gb.. At least i could operate it even when my hands were swetty.. And everything were working ****ING AWESOME
****ing crappy SE phones + ****ing crappy Android OS.

best ics rom - real ics lite r4
best gb rom - either a tweaked stock rom or a hyperbeam cream.

Stick with cm7
Head over to CM9 when majority of bugs are fixed ie Data
Or try SE NEO TWEAKED
CM9 fxp 112 has data working for me on xperia neo, while miui data and other things arent working probably.i would recommend KA07 or cm7 which am currently on very stable bt battery life nt the best !.
Hope this helps

Miui is based on CM9 - so no difference here, appart from UI.
I am using jjdoctor's ROM, hybrid based on Sony's beta release.
EVERYTHING works!
Very light ROM, very fluid!
Very stable as well.
I have had only some minor issues when playing music over BT headphones - it works, but sometimes it just stops playing. And I press play again and that's it.
All the features still not working on CM9 like HDMI, FM, Flash and GSM data are working in jjdoctor's rom - so I recommend it!
it will depend on your preferences so as what others said, you should try them all and choose whats suits your needs.
I would recommend you KA 09, too. It´s a great rom, i only have a problem with the smothness in hd games. Apart from that it´s very stable.
im using right now the cm7.2 and is working great so far very stable, i wanna try the cm9 but alot people arre having problem whit gms data so lets wait for a week until they realse the ics
im currently using the miui 2.2.24 fast and clean posted in the list of rom and i must say battery life is so much better will give u at least 2days in idle mode 12hrs in moderate use and 5-7 heavy use down side is that fc and restart is present but its present in other so no real problem to that im eying ka 09 ics and mooded 30.5 fxp 9.0 and 7.0 hog battery life even with w/ set cpe idle mode low cpu and juice defender i prefer battery and stability anyday of the month over fluidity and performance

wondering which is best??
or shd i stick with cm7n 1 major prob wid cm7 is that it does not have smoothness in any type of launchers........any suggestion for that??
by smoothness i mean the app drawer is slow
this is same for cm9 tooooo
Now this looks great,Official MIUI v4

Write your opinion about wich ROM are you using?
What about AOKP? Xperia X10S? CM7, CM9? Jaf (Fera's) ROM? Debrand Engine? M&M's MIUI? Donut HD? Wich path to take now ???????
Donut HD is good for X10

Whitefang
DiKeJ´s Dixperia 7, or wait 4 days and he will release Dixperia 8 - i cant wait for it, it will be awesome ROM ( like DX7)
try JAF/Fera for smooth butter like experience or MoKee v0.3 for lots of free ram plus amazing battery life
I also don't know which ROM to go for. I have tried Feras but never tried JAF - is it good? Like the look of the system menu with all the options on that ROM.
Whichever ROM I try though I always end up going back to WolfBreaks! Is JAF better?

FeraVolt's ICS is very far from sluggish and fps is uncapped as far as it can be, up to 32 in 3d and 38 in 2d, sound is amazing, no colour issues, working deepsleep, it's fast, stable, smooth, beautiful and awesome. But, like all custom ICS roms, still no camera. It's your choice of course, but i can highly recommend this one. I never tried JAF but read a lot of good and positive things on that rom too.
I've tried almost every rom & I can confidently say that imo Z's CM7ZMOD is the best, it has the perfect balance & combination between speed & smoothness, stability & customizability
Right now I'm using Achotjan's Stock Replacement Rom which is also pretty good, not as fast as CM7ZMOD & a few minor bugs but still greattt

rage kernel suits with all
XMP rules!!!
in my test:
MESA Kernel: slow boot in XMP (about 1-2 minutes in sony ericsson logo), but is the only problem (i use it actually, for me is the best battery saver with good performance)
Rage kernel: if you dont like slow boot or other bugs is your best option
Kernel Panic: works well, has KSM (i dont see any diference in ram use) and other unique features, but... it has CWM 6 and is buggy (especially with aroma installers and usb mount) and applications like cpu spy doesnt work properly :S
Extended Stock kernel: is the same as stock kernel...

ok so m done using real ICS lite r4
it is a very smooth and fast ROM ! noticed very very few lags n stutters. its always lags a little when u move really fast in the gallery. but no1 really moves that fast so that dosent matter.. also sometimes the icons on the widget take a sec to load when u press the home button .. they load up quite fast so its not that irritating. but if u hav too many widgets it myt take a lil more tym i guess. din find any major bugs ...usb otg works fine. this is faster than the AOSP ROM i was using earlier!!
the ROM has a the Xperia launcher with corners and it looks really good (though we cant see the corners in landscape).. its fast and responsive. notification panel has quick seetings and a brightnes slider too. u can choose to install sony apps while flashing through aroma installer (very noob friendly). though i wish
the details of each option were mentioned in the ROMS post so that i kno what im choosing (screenshots).. for example if i knew that the walkman bootanimation had sound along with it i woudnt have chosen it,..
charged the phone to 100% and didnt touch it from 11pm to 5 am .. and the batter came down to 94% ...thats 1% per hour. but on moderate usage through out the day the battery gave up at 7 30 pm ...
on the 2nd day of testin battery lasted from 9 30 pm to 3 30 pm the next day...fone was connected to wifi 65% of the time and on 2g for the rest
the battery life is pretty good i guess... can only say after i chek the other ROMs out as well
i just tested temple run n it runs super smooth with no lag at all...

GB or JB For Neo V?

I've tried a lot of GB and JB ROMs presented here on XDA. Very early on I decided to skip ICS, and so I cannot comment on ICS ROMs.
All of the JB ROMs I've tried (I have tried most but not every single one available here though) have given me problems one way or the other after heavy use. The common problems I've encountered are apps freezing, phone hanging and freezing and random reboots. My greatest fear is the phone closing down on me when I need it most. A reboot will solve all problems but don't think this is ideal. I'm trying out 1 last JB ROM (16 hours till now) and so far it has not displayed the problems I mentioned.
I really like the looks and functionalities of JB but I think I will have to return to GB if I want a 100% stable phone. Would like to hear comments and advice from those who have experimented with both GB and JB on their single-core phones. Thank you.

Anyways @OP I'd not suggest any Rom in particular as you've tried many
But GB ROMS are supposed to be smoother atleast on our device and you may very well know the reason why it is so....
According to me, frankly such threads have no point as people state their opinions and support or favour a particular Rom and often some people go against this and results in an ugly quarrel! So next time, just avoid it and take these tips or advices on a casual note!

I guess I want to know what most ppl are using on their single-core cpu phones. So I welcome any and all comments. I've not had much luck with JB ROMs but it seems most developers here have moved on to ICS/JB. There aren't very many current GB ROMs available apart from Codename (as far as I know). Even Codename may end at X (current version) according to Emann. I'm still trying out one last JB ROM and if that doesn't work out I guess I'll be going back to GB.

I had been trying out my last JB ROM for 2 days and I was really liking it. I did a lot of travelling yesterday and all the time I was playing Subway Surfers. The game ran smooth the whole time and I thought the ROM was to be a keeper. When I got home last night the battery only had 30% remaining. So I charged it while I had a bath. After a couple hours it was fully charged. So I removed the charging cable and thought I'd resume Subway Surfers. For some reason the game was very laggy. Rebooted the phone and the game was still very laggy. I always seem to have problems with JB ROMs after a few days of use. I know a lot of people have gone weeks on JB ROMs and their phone are still smooth and fast. Don't know what I'm doing wrong. Anyway I have now gone back to GB.
Hard luck mate,my 4th day on the Aosp Rom polish blood by Mike
And still things are fluid!
No lags encountered so far! Best I've used so far I can say

I also think that Mike's Polish Blood is the best JB ROM at the moment. Unfortunately, my Neo V doesn't seem to like JB of any flavor.
Am also on AOSP JB polish blood, its my 5th day & its still running super smooth, no lag at all.. Best JB ROM available for Xperia neo V..

For the last 10 days i have been using KangXperiaProject with my Neo V
With Fusion 4.3 kernel.
Whoever uses their latest build (milestone-r2) will not regret it.
Excellent battery (i once got 6hrs of screen time!)
Excellent performance (no need to overclock)
No, and i mean NO lags.
No bugs.
Plenty of free ram, I have always ~120mb free, and i have viber, swiftkey, weather widgets, nova launcher etc...
All that is lacking is HDMI and 720p recording, for which i dont care!!

I've gone back to my "big" wife - Codename. It does exactly what I want it to do. And no surprises.
But thanks to your post I've been reading up on the KangXperiaProject thread. It does look like a great ROM and I'm beginning to get the itch to try it. For the time being, however, I need some stability.

Best stable/ fast rom out there? ICS based

Hi guys, Im going to flash a new rom, since i got this one for a while now... and phone is getting black screens while restarting it and getting ages to load android OS....
Can you give opinions of which rom is the best for ICS?

Ultimate HD 3.0.2 with CTC kernel..best choice..for ics
Just try Superleggera v5 odexed, because you will end up with that Rom anyway sooner or later

Optimax currently the best stable/fast/functional ICS stockbased with AOSP look.
...I cant stand sony framework theme...
definitely I would recommend Superleggera v5 for ICS with CTC kernel / VDS kernel / Advanced Stock.
I tried all the roms, and came back Superleggera v5 after one / one an half week.
Apart from that, you can try (based on most days I have used) Iced Bin 3.5, optimax, zelly cream
If you don't mind native camera issue / hd video recording..
come to CM10 (jelly bin) with fusion kernel + Super jelly bin 4.0. It will throw ICS in terms of smoothness and multitasking..
If you want great speed, great stability, great camera and great multitasking try vleutmans's GB Rom (Illuminative)
Anyway: The best ROM on ICS is totally depending on your needs.
Personally i like plain and simple roms, which are optimized for performance, so i can play games too without lags.
Some people like themed roms, so the Ray looks like an experia Z for example.
Its so difficult to say what is the "best" ROM as all developers do their utter best to make their ROM "the best" in any way.
Then if all roms are "good" you could check all their threads about "remaining bugs" which could be in your way.
The best thing is to take a few weeks off (holiday) , live on coffee and junkfood and flash as many ROMS as you can to check out for yourself

my personal favorite is Optimax very stable ICS rom with the combination of looks and performance

Nothing more to say I tried almost every ICS ROM here and everytime I went back to Superleggera, cause that ROM is the best - fastest and lightest + arcatarc (developer of Superleggera) is very kind person
This is y I want a report button on xda app.....
There is nothing as best or stable rom...
Every user has his own taste ..
Try a couple of roms and decide for urself wheich is good for u...

OP, first this does not belong in the Development threads....Please read the Forum Rules on posting.
The best/stable ROM is something you need to figure out, what is best for me will not be best for you....Thank You.
