RAZR MAXX Otterbox Commuter vs PureGear DualTek? - Motorola Droid RAZR

I'd normally jump right on the Otterbox Commuter but it's slippery and I hate the lint collecting rubber they are using.
What do you guys think of the PureGear DualTek?
http://www.amazon.com/RAZR-MAXX-Pur...1346850574&sr=8-2&keywords=razr+maxx+puregear

I prefer the DualTek case as its not nearly as slick as the Commuter. I have both cases and the Commuter just sits in my desk drawer.

How easy are the buttons to press on either case? Does the PureGear have good fitment and easy button press?
I tried the commuter on the atrix hd I had and it was really slippery.
What color is wearing better, black or white?

I have the Otterbox Commuter and I find the power and volume buttons easy enough to press. I personally do not find the device slick at all. I have dropped it numerous time and the case has held up very well. It still looks new. I would highly recommend!

I corrected the first post to the correct case (For the MAXX). I wonder which case shows wear the least...white or black.

Since you have both, which case is slimmer? Also, which case slide in and out of your pocket easier? Do you find that the pure gear has more tendency to pop out with a frontal drop?

To me it seems the commuter is slimmer, and I find the DualTek easier to get out of my posket. I have not dropped the phone yet. Hope this helps.

The only problems I find with the commuter are the top gel inserts that cover the mhdmi and charger port. It is kind of hard to get off sometimes but that is a minor quibble. The only other problem is taking the case off and putting it back on. It's a pita!

I got the PureGear DualTek. I accidentally bought screen protectors for a RAZR and it looks like the RAZR MAXX has a different shaped protector. Does it matter?

I believe they have the exact same screen size and everything. The screen protectors should not be a problem at all

Thats what I thought, then I saw that all the eBay screen protectors are shaped differently for each and nobody has theirs as RAZR/RAZR MAXX compatible, its one or the other...

Hows the Dualtek case?

Hey i just ordered the Dualtek case and I wanted to know hows the case holding up so far? Was it worth it?

I've had my Puregear Dualtek case for almost 2 months now. I love it! I have dropped my phone several times on hard cement and it just left a few nicks on the case and nothing on the phone itself. I've never had a problem with it falling out of the case on a drop. I do find that the phone is slightly harder to hold/use one handed with the Dualtek case, but I do have smallish hands.

Razr is uncomfortable to hold - a case as a solution?

I just recently picked up a Razr and so far the phone is great. The only issue I have is that the phone is almost too thin. Its pretty hard to hold securily with one hand and navigate with your thumb. I'm finding the best way is to told it with your left hand and navigate with your right hand. Not really the best solution.
After playing with some other 4.3" phones and not having any issues holding them (the Bionic for example is much more comfortable in my hand) I'm thinking the phone might actually be too thin. I'm hoping someone has found a case that makes holding the phone more comfortable.
Any ideas?
I have just received my Otterbox Defender case and the rubber outer sleeve makes it much easier to hold. The case itself adds bulk to the once so slender phone but to be honest I love it

much comfortable to hold the phone when naked. i got the otter box commuter and less than 24hrs i returned it. having a hard time texting and the lint on the rubber kills the beauty of the phone.

Found when it was naked it would become uncomfortable after a while and now I can also reach the very top left without danger of it slipping. Do agree that the rubber is a lint magnet

Another vote for a cheap TPU. No lint and good grip but takes away from the beauty of the phone. Makes the phone seem really big once the thinness is hidden.

Hmmm you say its uncomfortable to hold in one hand and use...a case wont change that the razr may only have 4.3in screen it has nearly a 5in build and a case would only make it bigger although I will say the otterbox does add a lil weight that helped me get over my need for some heft...but since I can palm a basketball I have no problem navigating the razr real estate
Picked up OtterBox commuter and love it so far. Threw a screen protector on and good to go.

IMO, it is necessary to have a case because a naked Razr is slippery. And that's how your Razr will get hurt the most: dropping it.

I agree with ukbt. See my post HERE for more pics and description of this Nillkin TPU case.
Much lighter and less bulky than Otterbox, etc. Plus, if you choose a transparent one, you can still see the "sexy" Kevlar back!
I had an Incipio on my Bionic and I don't recommend it. It looks the same as the Razr (open top and bottom) which always worried me. When it did finally take a spill, it got dinged up pretty good on both sides - where it was covered by the case.
Needless to say, the case was ruined afterwards. TPU all the way...

Motorola Droid Razr case recommendation, which one do you prefer?

I'm looking for a best case for Motorola Droid Razr, i used a plastic case before, but i wanna change a better one, just like this.
leather protective case
Seem that it can protect the cellphone well enough and looks cool.
any other case that can offer good protection and looks cool?
I'm using the Incipio case right now. Loving it. It makes the phone feel a lot more solid, it's easier to hold, and not very bulky too.

I like the Cruzerlite TPU cases/skins. Look great, $9 and change a piece on amazon . All the cutouts are perfectly placed. Also adds little to no bulk to the phone, and protects the phone from drops as it absorbs shock very well. Available in many different colors and
designs. I purchased a clear one first and was so impressed I got three more. Picked up a red, green, and blue one to go along with the clear one I already owned. I got the "androidified" design. Little android men on the cases. Also the android men are printed on the inside of the cases so they won't rub off over time. Some quick pics.

All black, hard rubber, stays on phone well, minimal thickness, easy to slide in and out of pockets, still good enough grip to make the phone easy to handle while out of pockets.
Would recommend. Simple yet stylish.
i have the otterbox defender, and im pretty happy with it except for one thing. The plastic screen protector produces some kind of strange shimmering effect i did not see on my defender cases for my droid x or blackberry. haven't found any info on it. anti glare, maybe? idk. don't care for it, if anyone knows how to make it go away let me know.

Best Case for RAZR !!

Hello Guys, I think i found the best snap on case for RAZR!. Glass and the kev back are scratch resistant but the body is not. This case does the job of protecting the body without spoiling the phone's sexiness and its very cheap.. I highly rec it .
Note : removing the cover is a bit hard i heard.
Price 10 dollars approx.
Product : Amzer® Clear Snap On Crystal Hard Case .
Pics and description: www[dot]amzer[dot]com/Amzer-Clear-Snap-On-Crystal-Hard-Case-P92668.htm
Have u tried it? Coz I tried the soft silicone case and didn't like it much. It sticks to the phone too much, hard to keep the phone inside the pocket.
Oh I'm interested !
I have a dynamic case which is really cool. Really glossy shinny rubber with tiny bumps over the buttons, really good design and its also really thin. Your phone will become as thick as the SGSII with this.
Xperia x10(Feralabs Rom) After trying all roms it was my Fav.
Now on the RAZR.
I see you Drinking that ¥Hateraid¥
Yeah I have tried it .. Will upload pics once i reach my dorm. It has made the phone sexier!! trust me it has got to be the best hard case ever!>
Will this case allow the razr to dock perfectly with the HD Multimedia dock/car dock?
Has anyone used this case ? Seems good for Daily use and to protect from scratches

That is why i still use protectors... I didn't on my bionic and got some good scratches and even a nick/chip.
Since day one on my razr i have used the static kind no adhesive, and they protect well; and are washable. One day, I don't know how it happened, but some how the protector got scratched or cut all the way through while it was in my car. It was several MM long. took it off and sure enough the cut went through the protector but the screen was fine. I was just happy I had that little bit of extra protection.

Casemate POP!
I've tried about 5 different cases. Some of which include Otterbox commuter, Otterbox defender, Cruzerlite, Trident Aegis and the Casemate POP. The Casemate POP is by far the best. I haven't had any problems taking it in and out of my pocket, its sturdy and protective. The silicone and plastic are all one piece. Its called the POP because it just pops on. Definitely my favorite!
Anyone knows a case that fits the official motorola car dock?
I have a Razr (Euro version) not Droid Razr, but i assume they have the same outline.

Are you using a case on your DNA?

Are you using a case and if so, which one?
Currently I do not use a case, but have a thin one on order to see what I think of it. Feels wrong to make this phone thicker, but wanted to get some other opinions.
I use a black OtterBox. I've never worried less about dropping my phone, and it feels great in my hand. Adds a little bulk, but not bad.

I ran my iphone 4 without a case for a full 2 years. I like to live life on the edge LOL....oh I'm so glad im done with that phone.
At work (Verizon Indirect) I usually go sans case, but at home and when I'm out and about, I alternate between the cruzerlite androidified, the verizon tpu, and the otterbox commuter in white or black (but I only use the commuter when I'm going to be using my phone outside)
I always order case before I make phone purchase. Usually some TPU case if any good is not available. Then go for Mercury case if it launches as I love their cases.
But yeah, I always use case. I dont use phones for long period. In last one year I have gone through Note, One X, SGS3, Nexus 4, Note 2, Xiaomi Phone 2, and now DNA (Actually still have Xiaomi, Note 2 along with DNA ). So it is important for me to make sure my phones are in flawless condition when I sell them to friends or ebay them so I get maximum out of it
Usually end up getting 80-90% of the money I invest in phone back because they are in top condition.
Currently have a generic TPU jelly case and Nilkin is on its way.
I'm using the Ballistic SG & it is awesome love the way it fits my DNA! I just ordered the Ballistic SG Maxx to replace it since it adds a clip & the protection for the display.

No Case. Like how thin the phone is.
OtterBox Commuter
Sure it adds some girth to the phone, but it protects it so very well. I dropped my phone a week after having it, with no case. Took a chip out of the glass up by the ear speaker area. I quickly looked for an OtterBox, due to having one on my Evo4G. The power button is a little hard to push, but if you load up DSBs Cubed Kernel you can use Sweep to Wake and not have to worry about that button.
Cheers!
I didn't run a case until I dropped it in the kitchen and chipped a small piece of glass.

Went without case for awhile, love the feel and how thin the phone is, but was unhappy with the wear I appeared to be getting on soft back. Went with the shell/holster combo from verizon and use just the case. I like it, adds very little bulk compared to body glove or otterbox types and even has kickstand.

htc droid dna cases

So I'm gonna upgrade to the HTC droid DNA in two weeks and have been trying to look for cases to buy for it. I saw a couple good ones that I'll most likely get but I'm a little bit bummed that there's not that many cases out there for the DNA.I've looked at amazon and eBay and both of them are selling about the same cases as the other kinda wish there was more selection cases for this phone..

I realize this case is two pieces, a silicone piece and an outer hard shell. Is this hard shell metal or plastic? This case looks amazing, I've been eyeballing the red and black one to match the phones aesthetics, but the price is kinda steep. Thanks
Also one last thing, how much space is left around the headphone jack? My headphone jack has a wide plastic surrounding that doesn't allow me to insert the headphones all the way into the port while the case is on.
---------- Post added at 06:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:14 PM ----------
The first case I got was the Diztronic. This was an excellent case, very very snug, it looks great and provides great protection. I also use a screen protector and I found out that the Diztronic fit so snug that it pushed up the edges of the screen protector. If you cut the corners of the screen protector this can remedy this problem. Another issue I found with the Diztronic was the headphone jack. I use Shure SE215 headphones, the jack input is very wide. With the case on the headphones wouldn't stay fully inserted. I did however find it very easy to cut the case around the headphone jack to allow the input to stay seated properly.
I've moved on to the Body Glove Dropsuit, this case is awesome. Like the Diztronic, it looks great, provides superior protection, allows access to the power and volume keys very easily (almost too easy), microphone and speaker cutouts and allows me to use an edge to edge screen protector. I've been using this case for several weeks now.
Note that both the Diztronic and the Body Glove DO NOT have a cut out for the notification light on the back of the phone.
Hope this helps!
Seidio Surface
I got the Seidio Surface case in black (not gonna worry about photos, I'm sure several exist on here or the web), and I am overall happy with it. It fits very nicely, doesn't add a lot of bulk, and all features are visible (lights and stuff).
One thing I am very happy about is the fact that it makes the power and volume buttons a little harder(?) to press. This makes me less likely to inadvertently run the ringtone volume down to silent just by picking up the phone, and I can put it into my backpack or lunch bag without pressing the power button and turning the screen on.
One slight irritation is that it caused the screen protector - which completely covers the screen - to bubble up on the edges where the case touches the screen edge, but that is minor - I could just trim the screen protector a little, if I was so inclined...
I like this case.
