Copying files from phone to PC was Killing Me

Okay, i have a serious question
First of all, yes i have read in TONS of articles, blogs, and many forums about the problem i have, and it could be useful for everyone if we get sorted out.
See, my phone has locked bootloader. even if i unlock it with s1tool, it wont enter fastboot mode (because fastboot mode is disabled, and no one knows how to enable it apart from paying someone with stool or omnius. and YES, I DID THE PROCEDURE PRESSING THE CORRECT BUTTON AND EVERYTHING, IT'S NOT ABOUT ME NOT KNOWING HOW TO FASTBOOT). so, even if i unlock my bootloader, i cannot flash kernels because i can't enter fastboot mode.
BUT!
My phone is rooted, which means I can flash roms and practically anything that's not a kernel through recovery mode (x-parts) in zip files, right? So, here's my question:
What if I extract the contents of the kernel IMG file, and then make a flashable zip file out of it? Would it work to flash my kernel? I would have tried it before asking, believe me, but I do not know how to extract a IMG kernel file
Thanks in advance

Whether it works or not ,IDK ,You should Ask some Dev whom works with Kernels ,I guess there's a reason why in sony devices we Always use .img files instead of .zip when it comes to kernels
Anyway
to Extract IMG Files You can try The following programs (Windows)
Alcohol 120% , UltraISO , Nero
you don't have to buy anything ,you can work it out with trial :good:

man, i did verify if my bootloader was unlocked through both s1tool and flashtool, both tell me i have unlocked bootloader (give me a code like r384u28 instead of R384u28) so yes I HAVE UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER, but can't enter fastboot anyway :crying: for ****s sake
i would pay for it to be unlocked, really, but i live in Chile and no one knows **** about anything around here. if anyone could do it for me, i could make a bank transfer or something since i don't (and can't) have a business card or something like that (because of the ****ty laws around here, requiring people to win lots of money before getting a credit card or stuff like that).
anyone knows what can i do? ):

Thanks man.
Working like charm!.

i stated in a previous post that i did the correct procedure to enter fastboot, so again, here's what i do/did:
-before everything, i installed busybox, correct fastboot drivers, correct phone drivers, proper adb drivers, etc
-flashed some roms with both flashtool and cwm, so my cable is not the problem, neither is my cellphone hardware since i can flash stuff
-many, many times, and in many, many different ways i turned off my phone, pressed the menu key and without letting go the menu key i connected the usb cable (also tried vol up, vol down, home key, etc)
-never heard any "connected hardware" sound from windows
-never got the blue light for more than 2 sec, then it started charging the phone instead, with green light
so yes, I DO KNOW THE PROCEDURE, really, i'm not that noob you know, been trying this for months actually
that's the problem, because i've tried everything and nothing seems to work, so looks like i gotta pay someone with wotan server, se tool 2, omnius or something like that, but here in chile there is NO ONE, and i really mean NO ONE who knows even what those programs do
and here i come to you my dear friends... thanks to all who try to help me

hey dont be angry...i try to help u only ... so be patient... otherwise none in this forum will help u... because no one is having responsiblity to serve u ,,,... ok...
actually the problem is with ur bootloader...i think so ...we cant give u a complete help until u give correct answers for wht they ask...trial and error method is only one possible in this field...u try to unlock the bootloader via official tool once more and check whtr ur both "r" is in small letters...

yes, sorry... i didn't mean to be rude, i was just clarifying it's not the common problem every noob has, it's something more than that
i cannot unlock via the official way (sony site, right?) because my phone says "unlock bootloader allowed: no", so it won't let me (won't enter fastboot anyways)

rebuilding back to ftf is not possible usually they are cooked by the developers and ziped file by signing it so tht u can flash through CWM recovery

if u know any other way than this please post the link to this thread so tht it will help in future

I think this thread should be in Xperia threads as a sticky since ftf files r more or less found only in Xperia line up...

[Q] X10 Bootloader NOT UNLOCKING!

Hi everyone!
Yesterday i decided to start exploring my Xperia X10i and so came across this site, rooted my phone, installed xRecover and tried to unlock the bootloader... BUT it would not work!!! I used the [HOW-TO]UNLOCK bootloader for X10 by 9Lukas5, followed all the steps and it would not work!!
He says you dont need to downgrade, so i was using my 2.3.3 firmware. (downgraded only in flashtool), the semc program just wouldnt finish the job (i checked, i have the semc certificate). It even bricked my phone(stuck on the sony ericcson part) a few times (i managed to revive it). Now i installed the Cyanogen7 mod 003, im wondering if i should try again with the bootloder?
If i have to downgrade to 2.1 please send me a link where i can download the firmware. And its done by the flashtool right? (i got the 0.2.9.1, for some reason the 0.6.7.1 comes up with some error screen when i start it)
Ok, i just downgraded with this file -> Generic version 2.1update1 build 2.1.A.0.435.
Tried to do the bootloader unlock again, thats what comes up (and did on my old 2.3.3):

Can I unlock the bootloader with the Cyanogenmod as well?
OMFG!!! AFTER CHANGING BACK TO CYANOGEN7 FROM 2.1 I CANT SEND SMS!!!! HELP SOMEONE!!!!
PLZ HELP! Thanks in advance
Are the developers doing anything except developing and talking to each other?? HOW ABOUT HELPING A NOOB?! (me) FML!!! Fixed the sms problem btw with flashing 2.1 again. CMON SOMEONE, HELP!!!!!!
I'm no expert but I will try to help
What error are you getting with the latest flashtool?
Try using the X10_aZuZu_Kernel_Downgrade_Generic firmware.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254087
BTW for most of the devices, you need to downgrade and be careful on choosing on the .bat file to unlock. also keep the upgrade file ready.
If you have troubles getting the phone into flash mode use this trick
Remove the battery.
Connect your phone to system with the battery still out.
Now hold the back button and put the battery on, green led will glow.
Now you are on flash mode and this would stay for not more than 10 secs.
So quick clicks on the mouse would help you

The one i downloaded was from here (Windows version 32 bit btw) : [TOOL/X10] [UPDATE 15/01/2012] Flashtool version 0.6.7.0 - Windows / Linux
Wait, i just installed the 0.6.7.0 from http://androxyde.github.com/ And it seems to be working... But this is the installer, the other one was a zip with the files so maybe it has to be installed.

The flashmode is not a problem atm, but if thats a good tip for the future
I was using the Azuzu downgrade that is included in the 0.2.9.1 flashtool, isnt it the same one? <---- Yes, im 99% sure it is. Same name and weight of the downloaded file as the one included in the firmwares folder. So i have been using it.
OK!! I USED THE [25NOV][FLASHTOOL GUIDE] HOW TO for n00bies - G-FACE GUIDE
(with the working 0.6.7.0)
And apparently i successfully unlocked the bootloader.
Where it says "S1 ERROM VER", if the code looks like this "r8А033" (the letter "r" is small), then you have successfully unlocked the BL, if its capital letter "R", then repeat the steps for BL unlocking.
Click to collapse
<--- i get that r8А033
BUT!!! I just installed the [2.3.3+2.3.7+arc][05/02/2012]ThGo2 v14.0 [Bestest] [ICS theme] [with T.E.A.M] AND WHEN THE PHONE LOADS THE FIRST THING THAT POPS UP IS...GUESS WHAT?... SONY ERICCSON!!!! So that meant i havent unlocked it?? Im so confused
OR do i have to install a custom kernel (firmware or watever) before installing any other firmware? Koz I installed the ThGo2 from my generic 2.3.3 (without flashing anything or installing any kernels) that i updated through PC Companion. If i do need to install something, then how? Flashtool? And What? Sorry for being such a Noob guys
So basically what i did was -> Phone is on 2.3.3 -> Root phone with flash tool -> Install Xrecovery -> "Unlock BL" -> Xrecovery, install the ThGo2.
Whats kernel by the way?
And again I am left alone.... SERIOUSLY, WHERE IS EVERYONE THAT CAN HELP? WHAT DID I JOIN THE SITE FOR IF NOONE IS HELPING ME? FMFL.
Hey sorry about late reply.
After unlocking bootoader you will keep seeing SE boot image until you flash custom kernel.
The ROM you want will have the kernel that needs to be flashed via flashtool.
If you download FXP cm7, the kernel ftf is in the flashtool -> firmwares folder. Just drag and drop onto flashtool
Give that a go first and let me know what happens.
Ill try check this more often

Ok, thanks man!! Since i decided to go with the ThGo2 (its faster than cyanogen as far as i can see), i have to flash one of his kernels. He got 2 --> X10_2.3.3_Th_kernel-n1.1-BootManager-v2.0 & X10_2.3.3_Th_kernel-n1.1_wifi. I'll try the first one now and report how it goes. Hopefully it works. And i hope my phone doesnt brick either

haha no worries. You should be fine so long as you don't pull the battery or cable while you're flashing a new baseband (which you shouldn't have to do unless your running a 2.1 rom )
ThGo2 is a great rom. Have fun

Hey i think that answers my question but just to clarify: So this is what happened i usred flashtool 0.9.0 to unlock the bootloader so that i can unlock my phone from rogers. Everything went right. Flashtool did its thing completed the bootloader unlock recognized my phone and confirmed unlock with small r using s1 tool. After reeboot two things still happen. First i am still booting through the original se prompt thst oalways had, and two, my phone is still locked to rogers. I am using the standard firmware that came from sony with the 2.3.3 upgrade. So from what i understand from your post all i have to do is use the flashtool and flash my phone with custom firmware to complete the job, and if so which firmware would i use? Thanks

I think you misunderstood the fact that this is bootloader unlocking not network unlock
So you are still stuck with rogers. There's no free way to network unlock but there are some cheap ones you can find out

You can unlock your bootloader anytime and relock is as many times as you want
That unlocking chances are for network unlock i guess dunno about it much
To unlock your bootloader there's a good guide in development section named G-face guide for flashtool. Search for it. I'm on phone right now can't search

[CWM] current DIRTY way to install new ICS ROM as [ICS kernel + CWM] not yet out +OTH

Ok guys with itchy hand me included =_="
This guide is for those who know what I'm talking about, and since ICS kernel with CWM is under its way soon. but we just dont want to make our lovely dev stop making new rom.
This thread originally made for Sola but i think the others will also work if you know what to do and what i mean.
well... I've tested this many times and its ok to flash kernel and also ok to jump from one to another.
!!!disclaimer!!!
!!!with this guide you are the one responsible on what you did to your phone bricking it included, not me or anyone else!!!
We have everything in our hands already.
things needed to make this happen
-A working fastboot
-ANY working kernel with CWM
-Stock kernel
grab that stock ics tft file and open archive using 7Zip and rip that kernel.sin
-remember this... POWER + Vol-up wait for the 3 combo vibrate is force POWER OFF <-- unless you can pull out your battery
-and the rom that you want to test
now lets get things moving
1. power off your phone and put it into fastboot mode "vol-up + usb to pc" purple LED
2. flash your favorite gingerbread kernel with working CWM
fastboot flash boot [NAME OF KERNEL+CWM.elf]
3. unplug the phone and power on. wait for LED light than press "vol-up" to get to CWM
4. if you have not copy the rom, this is a good time to visit mount usb and do your things.
5. wipe data.
6. flash your test ROM
7. after the zip have been completely flashed in to the system. dont bother to reboot phone. instead
8. FORCE power off by holding "vol-up and power button" wait for the 3 combo vibrate. now the phone is OFF.
9. put phone into fastboot mode "vol-up + usb to pc" purple LED again
10. flash that kernel.sin that you rip of from the whole tft... the ICS stock kernel
fastboot flash boot kernel.sin
11. power on and wait the first boot that take ages
12. there you are.... A new test rom
14. Give feed back to ROM dev
note: if it got stuck at Sony logo, where you should expect animation boot screen. force power off and on it again to test. and wonder did you flash the rite kernel.
note2: I'm not putting links as you should know where to get the stuff above. give them proper thanks by hitting the thanks button or donate beer for them if you can.

the next entry will try to smooth the process and have lots of future use
------------------------------------------------------------------
only for your pc side
------------------------------------------------------------------
things to do
1. add system path
2. ease of access your cmd ^^
3. some batch file ideas that automate things
you should have known this as it have been floating around in xda,
skip this if you dont need it.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WARNING, we are going to touch some windows stuff,
try not to mess up. but if you do mess things up you are
the one responsible for it ^^
-you are here to learn something. try not to copy paste.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. add a system path
here's some basic and recap that's have been around xda.
set your windows system variable for ease of command key via your local cmd.
we need a place to start. as i know most of you have installed flashtool. flashtool have a good set of adb and fastboot within its folder.
where else if you want to use android sdk's folder thats up to you to look for the adb and fastboot folder.
here's the location of flashtools adb and fastboot "C:\Flashtool\x10flasher_lib" on my machine <----- yours might be different
we are going to add "C:\Flashtool\x10flasher_lib" into the system path
So, where is it??? (i'm on a windows 7 so you have to figure out where it is ok... )
from the control panel look for system,
In the System window, on the left panel click on the Advanced System Setting.
a System Properties window will pop up
In the Advanced section, click the Environment Variables button.
Finally, in the Environment Variables window (as shown below), highlight the Path variable in the Systems Variable section and click the Edit button. Add or modify the path lines with the paths you wish the computer to access. Each different directory is separated with a semicolon as shown below.
e.g (the ones below is mine... dont follow you should have yours)
C:\Program Files (x86)\AMD APP\bin\x86_64;C:\Program Files (x86)\AMD APP\bin\x86;%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\;C:\Program Files (x86)\QT Lite\QTSystem;C:\Program Files (x86)\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Core-Static;C:\Flashtool\x10flasher_lib
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
so, in this path property click the "Edit" button, go to the end of the whole string.... and add a semicolon( ; ) and paste the address of where adb and fastboot located
and continue to 'OK' and close the rest of the windows that you dont need.
to test, press this combo [window key + "R"] to have to run windows up and just type cmd and hit ok
in the cmd try just type adb... and it'll give you feed back that just adb is not enough and throw you a list of things adb can do.
now you can fire up adb and fastboot anywhere you want.
2. ease of access your cmd ^^
make a cmd shortcut that will start at the current folder and also run as admin
as you will now go to the folder where you most likely do flash something or adb something
right-click on an empty space and hit new ---> shortcut.
Type the location of the item:
cmd
click next and finish..
now you have a cmd shortcut that only start in the system32 folder...
than we got 2 more things to do with this short cut before its usable.
1.right click the new cmd shortcut and hit properties
EMPTY the "start in:" text box, you want it to start anywhere the short cut is located.
2.still in the same properties and hit the "Advanced..." button and activate "Run as administrator"
OK than apply... you are done. now you can copy paste this short cut any where you want with proper use .
3. some batch file ideas that automate things
the good thing about adb and fastboot.. it will wait for your device. thus automating things can give a good approach.
bare in mind that automation is a good thing. but if you have multiple device. be careful dont automate the wrong command
we call a [something].bat file a [something] batch file...
with the "path" to your adb and flashtool done earlier, you can start making batch file to auto mate things in any folder you wish. just make sure all the other ingredient are in the same place or you can link it to. Bin4ry root tool that you just had is a good place to learn and i'm sure there are other tutorial floating in XDA... just use the search or ask GOOGLE for it.
and you can always right click and add a new ---> text document
fire up notepad and start writing automated fastboot comand or adb install "stuff"
and save as ".bat" file.... you should know what i mean. NOT "filename.bat.txt"
File name: [something].bat
Save as type: All Files
eg: a batch file "flash stock ICS kernel.bat" and "kernel.sin" MUST in the same folder where this batch file located
Code:
@echo off
COLOR 0A
fastboot flash boot kernel.sin
ping 127.0.0.1
PAUSE
echo device will boot after ping
ping 127.0.0.1
fastboot reboot
PAUSE
eg: logcat.bat
Code:
adb logcat
PAUSE
to exit the logcat press Ctrl+C
it will ask you if you really want to stop.
i add a ping 127.0.0.1 just to make a ping delay so that we can see the batch have done the fastboot and do other job like ping local host
4 times and proceed to fastboot reboot. PAUSE if you want it to wait it for you to hit any key than proceed. COLOR 0A to make things green.
there are many more to learn.
NOW... SOMEMORE OLD SCHOOL FUN ^_____^ batch files..... i love them and so will you

the only different is that some phone can take there battery out to force power off. This should also work for JB if theres no JB+CWM kernel. since CWM have nothing to do with the kernel or how the phone is running... its just a recovery part of the phone that should be there in the first place but Sony just didn't prepare us a recover partition..

Dude what if i install a GB ROM with a Kernel supporting CWM first..... then flash the ICS custom rom via CWM... then when the device is off connect it with the flashtool in flashmode and flash only by selecting the kernel.sin file from the official firmware ( given that the official ics rom is in the firmware folder) it should work..... do u have any opinion??? its may save us from unzipping and fastbooting (2nd time).....

you'll have the option to wipe data and the other stuff came with the tft packages...
ok.... i'll add something on the "added entry" to speed things up... hope you guys can catch what i'm trying to pass...

1. I flash a gingerbread kernel with CWM on my XPERIA U running ICS.
2. I fastboot or flash mode flash kernel.sin from the ICS ftf.
3. When done I'll have the ICS firmware with ICS kernel with CWM recovery.

nope.... like other android phone... they have another partition called the recovery partition. Some phone like the one we have Xperia does not have this special partition. Sony Ericsson than Sony just didn't give us this partition.
normally we will just fastboot flash recovery [cmd-recovery] and we have a cmd recovery replacing the ones given.
but we dont have this recovery partition.
thus what the dev here came with the idea to cook the recovery with kernel together. And we have a working recovery side by side with kernel in boot partition.
in the early days of xperias.... i remember Xrecovery is cook into the system. well... i do hope this will turn up since building a kernel+recovery need kernel sourcecode. where else Xrecovery need to change some file in android system to make it accessible from boot.
i did try putting xrecovery in system folder along with the other files. and boot the phone with my fingers at the [back] touch button. the phone just hung there. thus it need further changes to make it work.
Also using the wrong kernel is quite regularly known to brick phones, so be careful not to turn it on without the correct installed!

well... if you put it that way. There's always a risk...
eg, the accidental USB unplug or thouse usb cable that you just need to twist the cable to get a connection really need to avoid... place your phone somewhere safe while working. and Keep cats away.... they just likes wriggling wires.
^ __ ^
I think you'll be fine as long as you don't turn it on to boot up with the wrong kernel. Lol

Accidentally bricked my U20a

So... I realize there's multiple threads of people asking help on unbricking in general, but I accidentally re-locked the bootloader before flashing a stock kernel.

If you're on gingerbread or lower than you should be able to unlock it again with flashtool, as far as i'm aware. Try a stock firmware flashable with flashtool, there should be some available in the x10mini pro development section of this forum.

It doesn't work; I can't even get to the bootloader unlock opinion. The "Plugins" drop-down menu is empty and fastboot gives me an error message when I try to flash anything.
I guess it's R.I.P for this phone?

I hope you meant to say flashtool, and not fastboot? our phones don't support fastboot. Always choose flashmode...
The Plugins drop-down should be empty because the ROM you're on is unsupported for the unlock-plugin.
However, you should be able to flash the stock kernel, Hold on...
This should be flashable with flashtool. I can't guarantee that it will make your phone work properly, but it will give you back the stock kernel, and possible enable you to unlock your bootloader again, or at least enable you to flash the other firmware you had lying around...

The same thing happened to my xperia mini pro (U20a) when trying to update through SEUS and the software in the pc (PC companion) crashed by performing an illegal operation(Now it is no longer recognized by seus). This result my phone turning into a brick with only a big triangle with ! mark and a phone's picture was displayed on the screen when it turned on. I have never rooted the phone or installed Xrecovery/busybox (learned about them from this forum threads only). So I was anxiously following this thread and installed Flashtool and downloaded the ftf file (220MB) specified in this thread. Then voila, the flash was successful with this and the phone switched on. Now the second level of problem starts. None of the keys ( even the power key) or touch screen responds once the phone boots up.However the SIM is responding to the incoming calls (although cannot receive them as the touch screen is not operational). The battery is 100% charged and sim signal is 100% with sd card successfully mounted . Every time I need to remove the battery to switch it off. The display is now showing current date time (in a blue background) and a lock(left) and speaker (right) icons. Everything is stalled here. Downloaded two more firmwares and bundled them(sin files) in flash tool, but none worked except this fft file.
Please help
PS I have attached the flash tool log file for this flash.
To both of you: Try Repair with PC Companion.
1. Leave the phone unplugged
2. Start PC Companion
3. Choose Support Zone
4. Choose Update
5. It can find no update because your phone is unplugged
6. Click the Repair-link it shows
7. Follow the instructions from there on.
Hope that works, if not: Download this and flash with flashtool.
Thanx for the quick reply.
I have started the pc companion and go to the repair option. However after selecting the model from the list, it started updating. Then BANG!! Again the program performed an illegal operation and shutdown by the window XP.. The entire PC screen hanged and I had to manually kill it by pressing ALT+Ctrl+Del . So it seems this method will not work in my laptop.
Downloading your FTF file and trying it in flash tool. Hope it will work.:crying:
PS: your link is now pointing to the zip file and I have tried the UK version of that already ( by building the ftf from sin files in flash tool) with no improvement. Can you give a ftf file directly like the last one ? Thanx in advance.

Did you remove the other one you flashed earlier?
Not sure what's going wrong there, it should show up...
You did restart flashtool?
If you are still there
I removed and reinstalled the flash tool. Followed the procedure discussed so far. Still it is not showing in the list.Screen shot attached. The U20 option which is showing is for your earlier ftf file (kernel_locked) and not the renamed one (however if I bundle the sin files and create the ftf by specifying build number, version etc..) it is showing. However , flushing with that made no improvement. It took sometime to respond as I was trying these.

Rooting method for V20 (modified rooting by Lelus)

I've made some changes to my previous modification of Lelus rooting method to work on V20 firmware.
All actions is like for old method for V10, except what must patch other .bin file from firmware. For V20B P765 CIS this is LGP765_AP[11].bin.
How to patch:

Good news. That means we can root without unlocking bootloader. Right? Can we have something similar on cmw?

You're right. CMW only by 2ndinit. I've tried 2ndinit CWM for v10 with no success - it starts (keys flashes at boot) but hung on LG logo. Suspect this happens because v20 have new kernel.

Good one angrywolf90 :good: Good for those who dont want to unlock bootloader.
please make proper full-length guide? I know all the steps. But the image is not very clear? attach GIF image inside zip file. XDA reduces image size and also reduces quality of images.
AREMCEE's "Rooting JB" method is more easy and faster, for People with already Unlocked Bootloader or who want to unlock bootloader. They dont need to edit bin and flash. just push CWM in fastboot mode and use flashable root file.

Sorry for off-topic, but I am responding to your information.
Mostly its drivers issue. Phone is not to blame. LG USB drivers include drivers for both ADB and FASTBOOT mode.
I think for unlocking you dont need fastboot mode. Actually "adb reboot oem-unlock" this command is given in ADB mode and it starts fastboot mode, which then asks user to just press VOL+ key for unlocking. Now I dont understand why they are not able to put phone in ADB mode and not able to shoot this ADB command?
Thanks for the IMAGE, its much clear and I have made small FILE WITH FEW PERFECT EDITED LINES to paste in said BIN file with the help of any HEX EDITOR. Should be pasted in overwrite mode of cursor.

It's not a drivers case. Phone is just reboot in responce to "adb reboot oem-unlock" command. No matter to which drivers installed on your system (And what if I've see such thing on my Linux machine? Which drivers you suggest to install? Phone just reboots and thats all. Sad but true.)

Few weeks back (4 mar) I made this simple and small guide to EDIT BIN file, but almost everyone overlooked.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38750385&postcount=47
If read with patience it clearly explains how to edit (paste) bin file.
Please have a look. The link was also given in OP of same thread, but unfortunately it was forgotten by all. I think I should have made it in new thread so some of the pals might have noticed it.
Just for the support of this thread I would like to say that, this attached patch bin file and this small guide will be helpful to make your own HEX EDITED BIN FILE for rooting Jelly Bean on L9.

Sorry, I've recently deleted v20 firmware from P760 and redownload it again will take many time (LG uses traffic shaper?)
Ask somebody to patch v20 for P760 for you...

updates for RMX2155 model are not being available via settings, it seems to be some kind of sever issue, you can manually update by using sp flash tool, but only do this if you know what you are doing, this will delete your data.
also unlocked bootloaders are facing similar issues with updates, you should relock the bootloader if you want to update.
you can unlock/relock bootloader by using these kind of tool (MTK universal v5)

Follow this tutorial:
But instead of stock a53(RUI1) frimware you need for download F09(RUI3) frimware for rmx2151, can't paste link here because it will be removed,
After extraction of Ofp file you'll get multiple super.img and one supermap.xml type file..
You only need one super.img, for that you'll need simg2img.exe,
After downloading simg2img.exe put it in the same folder where you extracted the ofp and open cmd in the same folder,
And type following command "simg2img.exe super.xxx.img super.yyy.img super.zzz.img super.img"
where x,y,z will be replaced by names present in supermap file ..
Then you'll have a new file in ofp folder named super.img,
Follow rest of the tutorial afterwards...
You also might need to unlock bootloader.
so im looking at realmefirware(.com) but i cant find the F09 firmware only the C.19 version idk if thats it
I also checked the link in the tutorials description and the codename is RMX2163 and i also dk if its the right files

Btw u thing rooting is worth it (not only for the custom roms but for the modules and the endless possibilities that root unlocks)

Depends on the situations,
If you have only one phone and you are a corporate guy, then its probably not worth it
Also now a days most of the little customisations(including custom roms) can be achieved without root.
However if you plan to root your secondary phone and do all kind of kinky stuff with it then its absolutely fun,
Root always comes with risk.

No problem buddy, just keep searching for solutions.
Orange state is just a msg to inform you that your boot loader has been unlocked,
while in recovery format and wipe data, then reboot.
And next time try to add images also.
And if you plan on using sp flash tool it doesn't matter if your phone is booting or not.

So to get this right
Once I unlock the bootloader I will get into the the Orange state which I will able to bypass by formating (wipe data) on my phone and I should be able to boot again right ? On the original rom
And from there I will be able to install the TWRP custom recovery in which I can install my custom rom ?
Right?
