I have no idea what is happening here. I bought The Wall by Pink Floyd, I uploaded it to my Music with the manager. It plays in things like Spotify or even the Play Music website in the right order. The song data has all the songs properly numbered. I've tried deleting and reuploading. For some reason on my phone and my TV in the app it plays/shows the songs in the wrong order. Just on apps, on multiple devices, but the website lists them correctly.
I NEED The Wall to play in the right order, I keep almost getting into wrecks on my way to work because of this. Lol.
Help. I tried to go onto the Google Play forums but oh snap they shut those down, dumb.

I don't really know where to ask. This is NOT device specific. I repeat, NOT device specific. I am having the same problem in the Google Music app on both my Revue GoogleTV and my Samsung Galaxy S3.
I uploaded Pink Floyd's The Wall to my Music Library with the Music Manager. In the actual website it shows that the songs are in the right order, if I go to edit song info they are all numbered 1-26.
However, when I go to listen to this album (and this album alone :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying: ) with any of the apps, all the songs are in the wrong order. Shuffle is not on, and no other album does this. I've tried wiping the data, tried deleting The Wall from the Google Music website and reuploading it. Nothing is working.
And Google killed their support forums, so there's not really a place to go ask. And if there is, can somebody direct me to it?
I don't know what the problem is.
I just want to listen to The Wall in the right order. =(
Hey everyone I've jumped over from the iPhone/Apple ecosystem so don't shoot me, but I'm really disappointed with this HTC Media Link HD. I've still got Airplay running side by side and these problems don't exist. I don't mean that to argue about Airplay and whatnot because neither companies are paying me royalties to argue for or against them. I just mention it because I can Airplay stream and mirror without a hitch so I don't want to fend off "your wireless network stinks" responses. I've got an Asus N66 and can sustain mbps back to my NAS/ESXi well beyond what this needs, and I can also stream non-hand braked blu rays without problem. I understand there is differences between streaming and mirroring, but also as I understand this should be a wireless direct connection.
Anyone having these problems:
1. Google Play (perhaps the latest version only) does not look to work with my Media Link. It will play one song and then stop as it tries to load the next song. Manually restarting the next song doesn't resolve I have to close and re-open. Spotify works fine.
2. Any flash I've tried to stream results in audio and video out of sync. I can mirror flash movies across airplay without this issue.
3. Audio cuts in and out in Spotify all the time. I can rarely get 2 songs to play in a row without chop. The cut outs are brief, but still very annoying.
Thanks for any help! Love the phone quite a bit, this is probably my first disappointment.
I have the same problem trying to stream google play music to media link. It only plays one song and it won't play any other songs until I disconnect from media link again - it works fine if its not connected to media link - but with media link only one song?

This issue exists with Google Play Movies as well. I tried contacting support about it a couple months ago with nothing ever coming from it. I was trying to play All Access via Play Music today and ran into the same problem. The songs will not even play when the Media Link HD is connected. I suspect this is some DRM related code put into all the Google media apps. I submitted a support email to Google as will attempt to get as far through to the real tech support people as I can to see if this incompatibility can be resolved. I urge you all to do the same. Stupid DRM...it ruins everything.
It won't play tv.com either, it will play cnn live broadcast, and vevo.
I've started using Google Play Music as my media player. But when I buy something and "keep it on device" I can't find where its downloaded too. I've searched all through my phone. Sometimes I use the HTC music player nut I can't access anything I've bought from the Play store until I download it to my computer and copy it to my phones music folder. It's pretty frustrating. Does anyone else have this problem? Or know another work around? Thanks in advance

GPM does keep the tracks on your device, but not is a format that can be accessed by other music players. It caches music in /data/data/com.google.android.music/file/music as mp3's with numeric filenames like 10.mp3, 11.mp3, etc. and the indexing of track Title/Album/Artist to the cached mp3's is stored in /data/data/com.google.android.music/databases/music.db
That's just plain stupid..... I paid for the music and should be able to move it to where I want on my own device. I love Google but they do some stupid things. Such as that and not letting you merge 2 separate Google accounts. Thanks a bunch though

Yeah it's stupid. You're better off buying from Amazon.

Kinda stupid, I agree. However, if you're storing music on your phone, you might as well plug in your phone, and just copy the music over to the folders you want, which will preserve file titles/tags.
I actually like Play Music .... but this closed music management is terrible. You can not choose where your music is stored and you can't open your music with another app. As it has been said above, there is the possibility to read out the music.db. So I've written me an app, that copies my MP3 files from Play Music to the sdcard and extended them with the ID3 meta data such as title, artists, albums and coverart. Now I can play the music with every app and theoretically even share.
Of course the whole thing is only one solution for rooted phones. But it makes play music a little more comfortable.
I even found a way to save music from AllAccess, but I'm not going to publish this App Version in the foreseeable future because of legal problems.
I would also like to create help thread here in XDA, but unfortunately I must have 10 posts written , before I can create am own thread in the developer forum.
Here is a Link to to the Play Store: Unfortunately I can not post links yet. Search 'Play Music Exporter' on Google Play.

Looked around the thread for my issue and seen some things that come close, but not exact.....I cannot play music on my google play music app. I get the "cannot play track requested" error message when I try to play music. All the same songs worked fine before I loaded this ROM, and I love the Rom but this issue may end that love quickly. Im a runner, and require music. I have tried turning off various modules that would affect music or media, or storage in order to try and zero in why precisely google could play one album and not the other. (Currently only one "As I Lay Dying" album will play and no other music will play). I have tried everything from simply rebooting, to uninstalling/reinstalling the app, clearing the cache, clearing the data, etc....I have all my music stored on my ext SD card, and it plays fine through the stock rom(I have safestrap for galaxy s4 me7). but as soon as i switch to my ROM Slot 1(GPE) I can't get the music to play. I have tried moving one song from the ext SD card to the internal storage, and I get the same result. I doubt its due to the file type of the songs(wma, mp3) as both types play on google play music on my stock rom slot. I'm at a loss currently, and dont want to have to keep rebooting to switch to the stock rom slot just to listen to music. have I missed this issue earlier in the thread? I looked for a while, but there are 2 hundred and some odd pages, and search results came up with stuff that were about music, but were of a different nature. Have I missed something obvious that a newbie would miss? obviously by my profile, im a user and not a dev. but I would appreciate any help from anyone who may have run into this issue or could help resolve this problem, love the rom, best one by far, would be a shame to dump it for the music problem. Thanks again, Semper F***** Fi
Have you tried using a different music player to see if it's just that particular player? I'm not one to push people to buy apps, but if you're a music lover and you're not using Power Amp you're really missing out... might be worth a shot to try that to see if it'll play your music.
I just started using google play and purchasing music through them. For a few days, everything was fine but then some artists started dissapearing. Eventually all my old music was completely gone. All the files are still there on my phone, but can only be sampled through my file viewer. I'm assuming that Google play just disabled them all for piracy reasons, but thats the thing. I purchased more than half of it on iTunes growing up.
Does anyone know of a solution to this problem, or maybe a way that I can edit the music so that google doesn't pick it up as 'Pirated'?
