Hi Does anyone have a prebuilt cifs.ko (and any modules it depends on) for the stock 3.1.10 Kernel for the GT-P7510, build number IMM76D.XXLPH
I just upgraded to ICS 4.0.4 and have lost the ability to mount windows shares
Cheers.
Phill.
I'm looking for it too.

Is there any CM 10.1 ROM that works with exfat? For instance in a dual-boot configuration using the Siyah kernel?
Or at least is there a very simple way to add that - like getting the alternative (alpha or at most beta I believe) open-source version - or just copying the pre-compiled user-mode (I believe) device driver that I believe is used by Samsung from my 'normal' Sammy ROM to the CM 10.1 system?
Have to ask this here (beeing a newbie , any of you managed to use PPTP on CM 7.2?
Heard it's based on 2.3.7 and PPTP should work. Myself running stock 2.3.6 on GT-S5839i
and can confirm that it won't connect due to MPPE desync (google for google issue 4706).
I'd like to backport VPN components to stock 2.3.6 through recovery update system,
not confident that Samsung will ever release 2.3.7 based stock rom.
Being satisfied enough with stock functionalities won't risk running cfw or rooted system (yet).
Can somebody confirm that PPTP works with VPNroot on 2.3.6/2.37 based rooted system?
Any feedback/info appreciated, thanks.
Hello,
I'm new to the android rooting scene, but I have a Galaxy S2 I9100P phone that I'd like to install a non-stock kernel in order to safely install CyanogenMod, as on the CyanogenMod wiki page for the S2, it states that it should not be installed on the stock kernel.
However, I cannot find a kernel that I think will be compatible with my phone. It is running 4.1.2 and the Kernel Version shows as 3.0.31-1246097.
Thanks in advance.
Which build version mate?
Look it up and then see Philz thread. You can find kernels for I9100P too. They can be flashed in stock recovery or via Odin.
Can someone explain to me why AOSP and stock kernels (like Samsung stock kernels for example) only work on whatever type of ROM they're compiled for?
Also, why are most CM kernels still stuck on 3.0.64 when the official Linux kernel is on 3.11/3.12 now?
Hi I have a dual TechPad C981, this has the 3.3.0 kernel weidi @ brn-weidi # 3 and andoid 4.2.2, I want to install AOSP kitkat KK, I am new to android and I have several questions.
How do I know if my tablet supports kernel KK?
if not
* Can I compile KK with stock kernel?
or
How to compile the driver modules?
and
I searched the sources and can not find them, I have just the firmware which is a img
Can I extract the kernel and drivers from the img or the device?
and finally
to install the firmware 1.6 installed with Phoenix to record the firmware.
What if my rom does not work, thus I reinstall the original firmware with Phoenix?
