Randomly my phone started saying facebook authentication failed. All my contacts get no longer synced up to facebook. This happens a few times a day to every couple days. So I log back in and everything seems to be working again and then it happens again. It says authorize htc sense as well. Anything I can do to fix this annoying problem?
Thanks.
If you're rooted, clear cache, clear dalvik cache, in the application manager clear app data.

This didn't work for me. I noticed that it generally happened after a reboot as well. I've since switched from Energy Rom to Speed Rom and it no longer happens. So no real answer, but some more light on the situation I hope.

I experience the same thing on energy rom whenever I restart my phone...figured it was a hiccup in the data network.

I get this some times, after a reboot, as well.

I experienced this also, but once I updated Facebook it stopped

I get this EVERY TIME after restart, on the recent Facebook updates. They keep making the software worse. At least, the version in the 4.0.3 OTA is stable, and hadn't complained to me about authentication. I'd uninstall updates and stay with the firmware version. Until FB gets their %&@* together. Which could be quite some time.....
Even on stock...
I get this even on the stock ROM BTW, so it's something that has to do with either HTC sens or facebook ( the app) itself
Please keep all question/help threads in the Q&A section. Thank you.

ok, after a few trys at different things i now can say that by disabling the autosync feature, the Fc errors will stop, just go to settings, accounts and sync, then just check off autosync.
I haven't had a single fc since the update. Lucky I guess..

Very lucky. I had to return the phone and get another new one. It forced the update. signal sucks.

May I ask the point of returning the phone?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
mmmmm i went back to my previous backup, i like the syncing feature, woithout it i dont get up to the minute emails, twitts etc. i will better wait for a more stable rom
Having these FC's as well, as a result of syncing in this ROM, just flashed it yesterday. Tried deleting all user data, doing the permissions fix, and clearing all caches, using Clockwork, didn't help. Also setting up any account to sync like facebook/twitter/myspace, fails during the "Loading..." section after you specify your account info, with the same force close. Any way to fix this? I like this ROM a lot other than this, it's the only problem I really have with it.
that is the pro blem, is a nice rom but the onli way to fix it is to turn the autosync off, and if you can live without accounts syncing, go ahead that will fix it

Try the new one he just posted, should fix the random and sync related FC's, the fix, fixed them on my phone so we should be good now.
I've had this issue since I've gotten ICS. Every time I open up Gmail it will refresh and then when I press a message it will hang and close. Its the most frustrating thing in the world! I tried reinstalling it but nothing works. I cleared the app data and still, I get the same issue. Please tell me there is a fix for this thing besides a factory reset (which I think I already tried a while ago).

I am having similar problems with Gmail. First Google+ then Gmail. Hmm what company writes those apps... Everything else pretty solid after the upgrade.
I'm having the same issue in my TF201, version .15 of ICS.
bump because i'm having this issue and it is really pissing me off.
clearing cache and app data doesn't do anything. anyone have any ideas as to fixes, etc?
i'm tempted to download the gmail apk from here (http://goo-inside.me/gapps/) and install it to see if it will fix it.

do you by any chance have 'Force GPU rendering' enabled? That was the culprit for me.

Nope not anymore...I think uninstalling chrome may have fixed MANY of the bugs I was experiencing. If they all seem to be gone tomorrow, I'm definitely posting a PSA in the general section lol

I just stopped using the GMail app and had the general purpose Email app get my GMail. Just had to set my google account to not sync email to stop the notifications from popping up in both apps.
Problem solved.

Problem averted would be more correct here
I've been having the same issue for the past couple days. I have neither installed Chrome nor have I forced GPU rendering. I've tried clearing the cache and data with the same results. Next up is trying to reinstall the Gmail app.
So the latest update...
I downloaded Google Apps from the link a few messages up and tried to install just the Gmail.apk. That install failed. Not sure why.
Next, I used Titanium Backup to restore Gmail after I again cleared the data and cache. This seems to have worked and I had no FCs last night.
Hopefully this helps.

I'm thinkin' more like circumvented
Having the same problem Constant crashes. Can barely manage to read one email before it crashes and sometimes not even one.
I've been having this problem for days now. I turned off force gpu and I was able to get thru like 2 emails before it crashed. I'm getting sick of it, and nothing I do can fix it.
Anyone else having this problem? It's KILLING my battery. Every time I unlock my phone, the sync icon pops up. I have everything set to refresh the least amount of times, and I don't want to turn it off cuz I won't get my emails and it screws my weather up...

Data issue.
Anything I can do to fix it? I never have bad signal, and data is always fast as can be.

Try a reboot, if you're rooted, go in to recovery, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache and fix permissions.
I had the same problem. I backed up with titanium, did full wipe, reinstalled, and restored.... Worked like a charm. Hope that helps

Thanks a lot! Ive been getting terrible battery life lately and its been pissing me off lol
I flashed from stock to bionix v4, followed all the steps with no issues. Everything worked great. I had to do the these two fix steps a few times recently. wifi fix http://androidforums.com/droid-supp...ifi-error-message-wifi-will-not-turn-all.html and large file download fix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30669800&postcount=1127. This is when I noticed my issue. However, i can still makes calls. It is when I hang up that I get the error but I can still get back into it, just after force closing. please help.
I'm trying to figure out options before wiping and reflashing.
You can try to go to manage apps and clear data from phone app. Then reboot.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda premium
I cant even see it in the list. wtf. The only thing I can think of that's close is "phone" version 1.0 but there's no data for me to press clear.
I also see dialer and dialer storage actually have data to clear.
When you go to manage apps, all, there isn't phone?

There is "phone" but there's no data to clear. size is = 0kb.
Guess its wiping time, try just cache, dalvik cache and fix permissions. If you still have issue a full wipe might be in order.

No, only need to back up if you do a data wipe/reset.

Well, I did a full wipe and reflashed. Phone is working now but something I didn't notice before. I cannot get contacts pictures to sync with facebook and when I try, it says I need to log-on to social media and redirects me to allow me to choose between facebook, twitter, etc to sync. When I click on facebook, it force closes just like with the phone app. What's going on?
Did you use an app to backup apps and app data(titanium backup etc)?
Go to manage apps>all> Facebook and clear data. See if that fixes your issue.
I apologize for not being able to give more exact issues. I haven't used that ROM and its been a long time since I used froyo all together.
I approve this message.
Getting SMS Error 65535 Code3 after updating from 3.0.0 to 3.1.0 Viper 5.5.
Tried a clean wipe/flash 3 times...still getting the error after a couple hours of use AFTER flashing. Texts will send perfectly fine, until I don't know what happens and they stop sending.
Any ideas on what to do? I'm so tired of re-installing and having to set up EVERYTHING again. :crying:
And texts will send for about a minute if I reboot the phone. Also, yes, my bills are all paid.
I'm running it and currently not having this problem. Take the sim card out and pop it back in maybe. Also try clearing cache and dalvik cache or dirty flash the rom.

I had this error on my phone when I used the DNA. I never could figure out the program. I went as fair as Ruu nothing fixed it
Sent from my HTC6600LVW using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I reported this error to htc and they didn't do anything it happened on stock for me but never happens on a custom rom. The only way I found around it was a third party texting app. Verizon messages is what I used and it worked good for me. That's one of the only things Verizon did right besides put up a ton of cell towers. The messaging app is good.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Downloaded the Verizon messages app, will see if that works. The SIM card on these phones has always sucked...this is my second DNA and both SIM cards have continuously been a nuisance. I'll try popping it out but I'm not hoping for much going that route.
Will follow up later!
I had an SMS problem immediately after setting up ViperDNA 3.1 (from Slimkat 3.0). I let the phone settle down overnight, I've not had a problem since.
I use contacts+, but I'm considering another app, maybe Hangouts. I'd use Evolve if it were actually free.
Tried Verizon Messenger, tried removing/reinserting SIM card, tried rebooting again. Nothing...still getting the same error.
Going to try wiping cache/delvic. What is this dirty flash you speak of?
Wiped cache/dalvik...worked for one text message. Back to crap sms error...going to research what this dirty flash is.
This is RIDICULOUS.
Dirty flash is just flashing Rom on top of a rom

This is from the O.P. of ViperDNA 3.1.0. (Credit and thanks to Nitsuj17)
"I have a problem with the ROM (FC, Boot Loop, apps closing automatically). How can I get my problem resolved?
First things first. Try wiping data and replicating the issue:
Rebooting into Recovery
Perform a Nandroid backup (of just Data if you wish)
Flash the ROM and select the option to "Wipe Data"
Try replicating the issue
If the problem persists, capture a logcat and send it to us.
To capture a logcat: (this assumes you have the Android SDK and ADB setup)
Open the Command Prompt
run adb logcat >c:\logcat.txt
To capture an FC, use the command adb shell "logcat | grep AndroidRuntime" >c:logcat.txt
Press Control-C to stop logging
Paste the contents of c:\logcat.txt into http://pastebin.com
Post the link here with the problem being experienced

My SMS worked for a few texts and also stopped working. Now if I reboot, I get one SMS out, the rest won't go. If I change apps, the same thing happens. The first text goes and the rest don't.
I've tried 4 different clients, and now I'm on the default messenger.
Any thoughts, anyone?
Just found out that my Venom account, and a couple other accounts, aren't syncing. A "sync server is not working at this time." Error is displayed. Could that be part of my problem?

That is a separate issue, it was a problem with the Venom databases that has since been fixed I think.

Thanks, will be re-doing EVERYTHING from scratch AGAIN tonight. I'm not sure what else to do if the problem persists.
It doesn't have anything to do with using Google Home or HTC Sense in the beginning setup after flashing rom does it?
Also, I have my network set to LTE/CDMA mode...I believe I've read that is correct, correct?
Full wipe and clean install, everything is beautiful...venom and all other accounts synced.
2nd text message tried to send...no go... What in the f.

I had that from Sunday till late Monday. My Google Chrome bookmarks would not sync,
Still having the error...I'm out of ideas.
Problem fixed...I restored to before a rom was flashed.
So, no more viper, but I don't get that CRAP error while texting. I'm upset.
