This message is for people who have rooted/flashed their Samsung Galaxy S3. I need help please. I followed the steps in the video How to Root Samsung Galaxy S III [its the first video suggestion] and I got up to 3:44. Instead of it saying pass, it said "RESET!" The picture says it all. I had to unplug the phone and turn it back on because it turned off but for some reason odin did not reboot it. Now everytime I try to turn it on it goes to the SAMSUNG screen for 2 seconds and shuts off. The only thing I can access is download mode. I'm a major noob when it comes to rooting/flashing. The settings in download mode say:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SCH-R5830U
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: Yes (6 counts)
CURRENT BINARY: Custom
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE
Can someone please help me? PLEASE. It would be great if I could get a reply by tonight.
Update your details of instalation and stuff please

It won't let me go to recovery mode. The only thing I can access is Download Mode.I think the problem is that I flashed it with the i9300, which is different from my device. I do not want to root my phone, I want to delete any file that I downloaded into it. My binary is custom and my system status is official. How do I fix this?
Download and flash stock firmware for your phone. You can't reset the flash convert though.

OK I have spent ages looking though all the threads on here and I am getting confused with all the numbers and codes
I have a Galaxy II GT-i9100
The the details are
Android Version 2.3.5
Base Version I9100NEK12
Kernal 2.6.35.7-I9100XWK18-CL616395 [email protected] #2
Build Number GINGERBREAD XWK18
I have tried to follow a few links of here to unlock it but the links they show to the 'ODIN' are dead.
All I want to do is Unlock it from the present provider (UK)3 to be able to use another SIM.
Later on I might want to change the ROM
I have Changemod 7 on my old Desire.
Could any kind soul please point me in the right directions for the files software I need.
I know this keeps getting asked over and over again but I do really find the jargon hard to follow.
Thanks again you are a great bunch.
Did you try this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1092451
Try (root)Galaxy S2 sim unlock by chainfire from google play. However it does require root .

Think you really need to read the roll up sticky thread.
In the mean time.. Do this..
Turn of phone. Take out battery for a minute. Put battery back in..then..
Press volume up, main button at bottom of screen," menu button " and power button at same time and wait for phone to turn on.. You should then be in recovery.. Go down to data/factory reset and select it. Then reboot.

Meant Odin Still can't get the SIM lock to unlock
Hi!
All you need to do is flash a standard firmware with odin.
Here is the thread for Official firmwares, with instructions.
You want:
XWLPD
Firmware info
PDA:XWLPD
PHONE: XXLPW
Date: 08/05/2012
Android 4.0.3
This is ICS and is located 2nd from bottom of third post.
Does it matter it says its for the GT ?
Thanks
any clue on SIMunlocking not working ? DO I need a SIM card in the phone ?
and do I need the Kernal and do I update it after the firmware the same way with Orion ?
Thanks

According to your OP, you have the GT-I9100. If correct then that is the firmware required for an upgrade to ICS. You will not have any sim lock after this and just leave sim in if you like.

Let the phone boot, shut it down. Then as before, flash
CF-Root-SGS2_XX_NEE_LPD-v5.5-CWM5.zip from (unzip and extract tar to flash) here
Please be aware that this is the Official Samsung firmware and you will have Samsung's interpretation ei similar looks to GB.
Hello,
Last night I updated my S3 i9300 (International) while it was already rooted on stock.
After the successful update the phone was working fine for a moment, but after a while it rebooted randomly while being idle. now in the morning the phone was working the same for a while, after the occasional reboot, the phone didn't turn on, however it showed the ( Samsung Galaxy S III i9300 ) screen, loaded the logo for a while and then restarted again.
When i open the clockwork recovery, it works fine but reboots after a while.
I had a backup made from the clockwork recovery before the update and is stored on my PC (not phone).
Is there a way to fix my phone? :/
Thanks in advance...
Just try to reflash to stock using Odin.

You have created two threads using a different name. It obvious its you. Your asking for advice but you arnt listening and you are being rude. Liike everyone has said download the xxlh1 stock rom your phone came from sammobile then flash it using odin and that will sort out your problem. Dont worry about csc just get your phone in a working state again.

Oh, i am really sorry, i wasn't trying to be rude, i really appreciate the help and am listening, and thank you very much for your Advice.
The other account is my brother's, he just joined and made a thread on his own.
My friends SII will not switch on any more, when he tries someone else's battery it gets to the SII boot screen then loops.
It is not rooted, when I press down + home + power it takes me to a screen that says:
Product name: gt-i9100
Custom binary download: no
Current binary: Samsung official
I'm an SI owner so not sure what to tell him or how to help. Any ideas?
From your incredibly detailed and useful post outlining the problem I can tell you with absolute certainty that one of the cores on your friend phone has failed. Take it back to the core store and ask them for a new one.
Anybody who isn't a tw** willing to help?
If its not rooted its most probably a hardware issue. Just get it back to Samsung.
Sent from my potato running a potato.
When you press down home n powr... its in download mode. Excellent- now just use ODIN to flash a rom! Done. But be careful to flash the correct ROM for i9100...
That "screen" which you're talkong about is called download mode.

This.
If the phone has never been rooted/run non-stock firmware & still has warranty, why would you do something completely stupid like trying to flash a rom of any description when the flash could end up trashing the warranty ?
You've been given good advice, heed it.
I've just checked with him. The phone is outside of warranty, so he is willing to root and flash it with a ROM if necessary.
Should I be looking at flashing it with a rooted kernel and then a ROM?

Even if you flash stock rom via odin it will not void his warranty since binary counter will not increase... And anyway his warranty is no more he can take a chance...
Go to sammobile.com and download stock rom for your country... Make sure the version of your mobile... viz GT I9100 OR GT I9100G..
Download and flash via odin... Let us know

Thanks for your help, I'll tell him. Don't know if he'll be able to do it himself, so I might have to read up and then flash it when I have some time.
i have made mess with my note 2 while flashing , i dont know what happen , but no network , internal memory, 4gb , flashing with odin it happned, plz help me, i was rooted first , then i flashed with odin stock rom, plzzzzz help me, baseband , imie, all showing unknown
plz help, plzzzz
Go find all of the stock files needed to flash back to stock. I know there should be at least a PIT and a ROM to flash. Also, try flashing the latest radios through a recovery to see if your baseband comes back. Also, make sure all the files you get are for your specific phone. There are at least 4 variants of the Note 2 so be careful which files you use.

If you would take the time to actually read through any of the stickies, you'd know how to fix your phone. From the sounds of it, you flashed your phone with a ROM/Odin package meant for a completely different device. You need to flash with a full stock Odin package and PIT file to fix things. Read the stickies in the development section. All the information is there, there is no need for hand holding as the step-by-step instructions are already available. I'd also suggest to leave your phone fully stock in the future and not do anything until you learn how to fix it yourself.

Exact same problem
I have the exact same issue and flashing back using ODIN and the appropriate PIT file doesn't seem to be working. Plus it is really challenging to get the right driver setup going to be able to re-write the IMEI back to the phone using the other methods on here.
It takes a lot of time and patience, and trial and error. but it isn't helpful to be condescending on here; remember, someone helped you out when you didn't know what you were doing and got stuck at one point or another, whether it was rooting a phone or learning to walk.
@latif_an [and anyone else who ends up here] here is a link to the IMEI restore method using CASUAL.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2077653
I'm stuck because I'm on a Mac, and don't have access to PC hardware. But if you have a PC, this in addition to the other link above may help.
lol....im in the same boat, unkown baseband, ime, meid ect. tried flashing back to stock with the pit....on all 3 bases. System boots up fine on all three, but no base band. Try flashing modems and restoring IMEI...and im pretty much at a loss now lol
This is solved problem long back. .. Pl read the like post of the past for solution

And this area shows on my phone as s3 9300 and 9305

If you have flashed or tried to flash a newer version than the one on this site you may not be able to just flash the stock rom it may have corrupted you EFS, see my signature link for that problem
