Dead SD? - HTC EVO 3D

I have the standard 8gb SD that came with my phone. Any rom I've flashed no music shows up in the music player. I've tried formatting the SD to no avail. I used the SD for the juopunut s-off on my phone. Should I try repartitioning the SD using PC software? Any help is appreciated. Also: I can see the music in a file explorer.

Nobody knows what to do?

Take it out of phone, put in computer, check for errors with gparted on linux, minitoolpartition winblows.
The jbear instructions are very clear in that you should not use a sd card you care about as it will get wiped and or buggered up.
sudo passwd root

Lol I didn't read that I guess. I have the same problem...

Ok so I tried everything. Even another sd. And still nothing shows up. Maybe a bad sd port? I am currently running a sense 4.1 rom. I can see everything in a file explorer. It's really wierd. Any other suggestions?

Which sense 4.1 rom are you using? Have you've tried another rom. I had issue's with my sdcard on a few sense 4 roms, I could find my pic, movies and music through a file explorer but sense could not find my files, rom issue

Chubbz sense 4.1. Which Rom should I try? Just a stock sense 3.6 maybe?
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium

If you can see the sdcard through a file explorer your sdcard is still good, yes try another rom but do a full wipe

Fixed It!
Ok so I finally fixed it. Wiped everything except SD in 4EXT then flashed the stock ROM and now it works thanks for all of your help!

Dang, it happened. SGT 10.1 wifi

It finally happened, frowny face. OK. I was on Bindroid rom, went to go nandroid Cm9 kang and got a system restore error. Tried to mount usb storage thru recovery but it gives me a no directory error. Doesn't boot into ROM. Stuck at boot logo. If I can somehow put a ROM on storage I would be able to reflash a ROM and get it working again. I forgot how to get into adb. If its possible. Anyone have any ideas?

This should help. It's helped me and I've seen it help many others too.
Goto http://www.teamovercome.net/p7500/?page_id=5
Towards the bottom of the guide There is a section called Restocking yer system.
Follow that on down.
Make sure you use the files for you device (7500 or 7510).
Make sure you triple check that you follow everything as suggested. The most common one I see missed is the last step of doing a factory reset/restore.
Let us know how it goes, as this keeps us trying to help when we know we're successful.
Also if you have any issues come up that you can't figure just ask.

OK great, it did work, but be warned, it will ERASE EVERYTHING IN THE INTERNAL MEMORY. But everything is peachy. Thanks mate.

Great to see you've got it going.
Maybe I should add that it's going to completey rewrite and erase everything, I just took it for granted that it it was obvious.
Small price to pay if you're stuck in a loop and can't do anything else though, I think.

Help with nands in twrp 1.x

For some reason my evo 3d cdma version is putting my nands on my internal memory, is there a way to change that? As we all know, backups are huge.
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
Change to 4ext recovery. Thats the best option.
Ty good sir.
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
Which do you use if you don't mind me asking?
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
I don't believe this is possible as far as I know and as long as I have been dealing with android I've always known the nandroids to be kept on the SD. So can you tell me how do you come to the conclusion that your nands are being stored on your internal memory ??
#Root-Hack_Mod*Always\
I don't think there is even enough room for a nand backup on the internal memory.
We're comin from a pure power source.
4ext custom recovery is your only option and it will solve your problem

What could have happened...

Hi All,
I just traded my Rezound to a guy on CL. It is rooted, s-on, with Scott's stock rooted ics. Anyway, the guy sent me a message saying that it froze on the htc screen (though it worked flawlessly when he walked away with it). He apparently called Verizon who got as far as the bootloader screen then wouldn't help him. I walked him through getting to recovery then doing a wipe. He says it is still stuck on the htc screen. I am concerned with what Verizon may have told him to do. Can y'all think of any reason doing a standard wipe all from Amon Ra wouldn't help? My feeling is that since it gets to the recovery screen, it is fixable. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Kim

They may have made him do a factory reset won't boot without an os

Ahh! Ok, that makes sense. So I should just be able to slap a rom and boot.img onto my sd card and load via amon ra?

So I would bet he didn't do a factory reset unless he either flashed the stock recovery or RUU the phone.
Since it is s-on it sounds like he flashed a different rom and didn't flash the corresponding kernel and that is why it sticks at the HTC screen.

Not if you never installed an ics leak. I don't mean Rom but ruu. If not then run the gb ruu

DeOdex bad?

I don't know if its just my phone or not, but every deodex sense Rom that I've ever used is laggy to the extreme.
It's almost unusable.
Any advice?

My 3vo runs both fine. Are you flashing correctly? (Full wipe all partitions except SD, then flash)

Yes. 4ext wipe all except sd at least twice.
It's like this on meanrom, viperrom, coolrom. Any ics sense Rom that is deodex.
