Many users are asking me how to patch hosts file, so I make a guide for all of you
1st method:
Right-click this [HOSTS] (thanks to knzo) and click save-as (or save link as).
Save the file as hosts (with no extension).
Copy the hosts file to /system/etc/.
Check the above the link regularly to block new ads
2nd method:
Download Ad-free from Google Play Store
Patch hosts file using Adfree
Copy hosts file from /system/etc to your ROM
Note: You do not need Adfree application again
If this helps you, press the Thanks Button

It's a shame. Developers work hard to make apps/games and they even put on the market for free. Many of them gain only with ads.

Funny how this is coming from the guy who is spamming the development section with themed roms (I don't want to be mean but it's true)
And also, he only posted that message one time. That is not called spamming. Just saying.

Good thing that some apps check if you are blocking ads and refuse to work so thieves like you cant use them.
Die in fire Rom spammer. :*
And for the record: keeping ads on IS DONATING TO DEV you s... sob.
Seriously, maybe he is a ROM spammer and has a bad image.
but AdFree Android is an application developed by someone else, and this tut is just to show how to do what that app does without it.
So "hampering the dev earnings growth" hate shouldnt be expressed here, but instead to the Adfree devs.
I personally use and adore Adfree, coz i cant afford to buy paid adfree versions and find ads very annoying..

You should read this or other reports before fighting...anyway this metod is a long known thing and those who want to block ads will do, those who don't won't

Why you no post in thread?
But aside from another post. Contacts should be edited by clicking on image of contact, then clicking on the little person symbol accross from their name, then menu, and then edit.
Same as ICS.
Accuweather sucks and kills battery, and JB is still in development. questions like that make you seem like a noob.
and IDK on the last one, not running it.

Hello, I was able to develop an app to help you add apps into the multiwindow bar. This app will be limited to adding two apps for the xda version, and unlimited apps for the donation version which you will be able to find in my play store page.
The app is due to release today or tomorrow. This will develop into a fully customizable framework.
If you don't use the play store, feel free to contact me and we can find a solution.
But one thing I promise, is continuous and fast updates for each new firmware.

Yes, You will have to flash the modded files for this to work, but not to worr y because the won't change the look of your ROM, or remove your accounts.

Ofc I would, but is it a new firmware of some sort? Because I couldn't find it (didn't look well enough). I would be grateful if you send me the needed files so that I can mod them.

Note 10.1
Hi LegendK95,
Could you perhaps take a look at the Note 10.1 too???
I´ve tried it the way for the Note 2, like Lennyuk and Paul O'Brien described, but I wasn´t successful.
I´ve looked in the framework-res.apk and couldn´t find any list with the <item>´s in the xml´s.
I´ve looked also in the framework-res.apk of the jellybean-leak an there´s the same.
Could you help please?
Do you think make something to change dpi per app?
Actualy when dpi is changed some app are broken or fit not well ( clock, calendar, phone, multiwindow and camera). If it's in your app, I beleive I can give to you more money
Will it support ability to remove apps in list? I want to remove some stock apps from this multi-window list.
You can already move the app from the sliding bar.
Count with me

I have found 2 programms in the market that can be delete and disable the frequently contacts in the market. It works if your phone is routed.
don't know how it works but it works
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...S5zbmNsYWJzLmZyZXF1ZW50bHljYWxsZGlzYWJsZXIiXQ..
this program can disable and enable frequently call function and delete it
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...SwxLDEsImNvbS5jYWxsLmZyZWUuaWNzY29udGFjdHMiXQ..

The point Pongnamu and Bugoink2 are making is that this is really a question, so it should be in X10Mini Q&A forum, or, since this is an issue you have with ICS, post a bugreport in the thread of the ROM you're using, but not as a new thread. Posts like this muddle up this forum and detract from the development that is actually done.
develop a solution thats why its in this forum

I know .. The issue of android 4.0 is a knowed or unknowed issue . Since im testing the alpha of android 4 since there was the issue. Im reporting it on the google site of minicm but nobody answered and somone delete the issue report. I have told the issue nAa, and another developer . nAa sais this issue isn't a issue and becouse of the google code it isn't patchable. I should use another contact software. ....
Im sawing lots of posts about the problem but nobody has an solution. Since I have installed MiniCm 3.0.5 the issue is aviable. Then im looked in the playstore of google and two apps of 3000 has an solution for this issue. So the developers can patching it. And this post is for everybody who has the knowed issue and will be fixing it. and this post is to directional to developers. They can fixing it.
Yeahr you have rigth its the wrong here the post but it isn't wrong here . Im shame on that Im not have the knoweledege and the time to make an fix for the issue. The tools are working great . And all developers make an great job

Hey guys, up until a month ago I have been an avid iOS user until I recently made the glorious switch tk Android. I have figured most everything out except how to add apps that are multiview compatible to the multiview bar. I've tried drag and drop and a few other things but none seem to work. I was really hoping someone could help me, thanks in advance!

Multiview functionality is not part of android operating system. That is a propietary technology from samsung, and the applications that can be use in that mode have to be made to do so.

With stock you can only do a small handful of apps (and not all that useful either). But if you use certain Roms (I've been using Jelly Beans for a few months) some come with all apps enabled. I think there is also another way to hack it but probably requires at least root.
Re: Cant add Multi View compatible apps to multi view bar
I rooted my phone the day I got it, since its rooted will it allow me to add more apps to it??

Re: Cant add Multi View compatible apps to multi view bar
Yes, there are mods to do so, or you could pretty much flash any TW ROM under the development section and have all apps available in multi window.

Okay, thanks! What about already compatible apps such as Chrome and Google Maps?? How do I add those to the multiview bar?
Also, I apologize for the "newbie-ness" of my questions, im brand new to Android.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
I don't think that Verizon lets you add any apps to the multiwindow view. If you want more apps in there, then you can flash a rom. If you like the look of your phone currently, then I suggest one of the CleanROMs, either the ACE, Verizon Special Edition. If you are stock and you don't want to flash a rom, then you can try this mod here.
Personally I would recommend that you flash a rom if you haven't already. There are so many great roms out there that unlock features that verizon didn't want us to have, or other things like the ability to make the phone look more like stock android.
Re: Cant add Multi View compatible apps to multi view bar
Hello, im a new android user (switched over from iOS last week) and I just had one question for you. Im fairly familar with Linux, so the first thing I did when I got my phone was obviously unlocking the bootloader and rooting it. Im running a stock ROM woth the Team Win Recovery and I was wondering how I would flash from my current ROM to the CleanROM VZW SE 1.5. As you can see below, I have the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II. I apologize for the "newbie-ness" of my question, thank you for your time!
Cheers,
David

I'd recommend picking a rom based on the first posts in the thread for each one (in the development section), and then read as much as possible in that thread. This is my first android phone too, but after reading the Jelly Beans thread (yes all of it, but I'm crazy like that) I feel I have a good grasp on everything. I'm no expert, but I'm not a newb either, and I've only tried Beans and Cleanrom thus far.
Now I just wanna get 10 (useful) posts so I can post on Beans' thread and thank him! :cyclops:

I was looking at the CleanROM VZW SE 1.5 but I am afraid of bricking my device. I was hoping someone had some useful tips to avoid this
What I'm trying to say is that there are TONS of such tips on this board, but they are already spelled out much better than I could explain, so you really have to put some time in and do the research. You should read the entire thread about that rom, and also read the thread on unlocking all the way through. Everything you need to know is there. It's very rare to completely brick one of these things.
