[Q] Turning on Debug mode without touchscreen? - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Here is my problem: I have an Atrix 4G without a digitizer attached. I can boot up and get to the lock screen.
Unfortunately, I am stuck in the USB/MTP mode. I would like to be able to get to debug mode so that I can ADB in debug and access my android homescreen with Android Screencast.
I'm hoping that once I do that I can begin to set up my Atrix to be able to use it solely as a webtop via the webtop via HDMI hack.
So here is my question(s): Is there any way to use ADB shell in USB/MTP mode to turn on debug mode? Or, if that is not possible, is there any way for me to unlock my phone/navigate around the home screen without a digitizer using either a USB or wireless mouse?
Thanks for your help,
Jon

Did you get a reply??
Hi Jon...did you get a reply to this query? I am also trying to switch debug mode on "hands free" for a different reason, but would be very interested to know if anyone gave you a tip on how to do this.
I want to auto install software onto devices but cant do this until the phone gives me control of the USB connector...this doesn't happen until debugging mode is switched on. This means I have to go through the menu to switch debug mode on, then I can install the app. OK for one phone...but I need to be able to do this with hundreds of phones a day!! Lots of wasted time going through menus.
Hope you can help or point me in a good direction?

[Q] How can I force my XT912 into ADB Debugging mode (black screen)?

My Droid RAZR (XT912 with Android 4.1.2) has a broken screen but the digitizer still responds to touch. I still get haptic feedback and can unlock my phone (with unlocking noise if sound is on). I'm trying to get my computer to recognize my phone so I can connect it to my PC via ADB. My phone is currently in USB camera mode and it is not in USB Debugging mode.
Is there any way that I can remotely force my phone into debugging mode without being able to use the touch screen?

[Q] Rescue S3 with broken display and digitizer and without USB debugging

Hi guys!
I have a Galaxy S3 with broken display and (MHL tested) broken digitizer.
Device works, I get home screen but can't unlock.
I would rescue the smartphone and I think that the way is using ADB (with [email protected], screencast or similar).
I don't have alternatives right?
The problem is that I can't use ADB cause actually it does not have USB debugging enabled.
Just a couple of questions:
Can I use ADB in recovery mode (without USB debugging)?
With MHL I get broadcast in home screen, not before, is that normal? How about MHL in recovery mode?
I can only imagine a solution: Go in recovery mode and execute a "no-look" change of ROM installing something with USB debugging option enabled by default.
Do you have other solutions?
Who can help me doing this? Does exist a "how-to" somewhere? Which ROM?
Thanks!!
Hello,
i had the same problem, i could solve it. Here is how i did it:
Click.
I first had to root the phone and also get a recovery on it (i think it enabled ADB).
The problem is the broken digitizer. You can't use the USB-Debugging because you need to confirm a popup from Android (i think it depends on the Version of Android).
Hope it helps.

[Q] Backup Phone, Enable USB Debug on Samsung Galaxy S3 that has a broken screen

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone can help with my poorly phone?
My phone broke a couple of days ago and the screen is black and digitizer has broken therefore I’m unable to use it. I don’t think there is any point trying to get the screen fixed but it will cost as much as a new phone would. But what I would like to do is backup the data on my phone.
I have not got USB Debugging enabled and when I connect my phone to the PC, the drivers are installed and I see my phone as a portable media device but there are no files or drives to display the phones data through windows explorer! Please help!?
After some research on the internet I have downloaded [email protected] and ADB.exe but the phone is not recognised (I believe this is because USB Debugging is not enabled).
I then did some further investigation and managed to book my phone under fastboot in recovery mode and selected ADB mode, this connects to my PC and new driver is installed but I am now not sure how I can use this mode to backup my device? And enable USB debugging so I can use my phone on [email protected]
Anyone able to help?
Thanks
Sir,
Please wait until mods will move this thread to the device specific forum for more relevant answers.

[Q] Need to auto-boot on power - suggestions??

Hey guys,
I've been given an SGS3 (I9305T) with a dead screen. I've managed to gain access via an 11-pin HDMI cable, and then from my laptop using Mobizen which gives me access to ADB.
I'm attempting to use it as a reversing camera; which is proving surprisingly effective! however, I need to be able to restart it on power connected (should it ever go flat)... and I'm stuck for options.
I would have tried 'fastboot oem-off-mode-charge 0', EXCEPT for the fact that fastboot isn't enabled on Samsungs :/
Is there any other options available that might enable this feature? Alternate kernel? build.prop mod? This detailed LG attempt??

Broken Screen - Adb unauthorized - Need access

Hi, first of all sorry for the spelling, i'm from Argentina and my english is not the best.
i have a samsung s3 phone with a broken screen. I think also the touch-system is broken.
I want to access the device via VNC to configure it as a media server, or a camera or maybe buy the mhl cable and use it as a smart-tv.
I tried to install every app available but all of them requires me to authorize the adb interface (i have it enabled).
on the adb command linethe phone shows as "unautorized"
i tried the solution of rebooting the phone on recovery-mode and change the adb hosts files to have it autorized with no luck.
In my several tests i think i broke the download mode and recovery mode because now it doesn't seems to reboot in those modes, it always boots in normal mode no matter wich keys i press.
So, now i have a working cyanognemod rom (i don't remember wich version, if it's a 5.0 or 6-0 rom).
I don have acces to recovery mode.
I dont have access to download mode.
I don't have wifi connected.
I have adb enabled.
I dont have adb autorized.
I tried the vysor app, the teamviewer app etc.
Is there any app to access the phone (vnc, or edit system files remotely) without autorize the adb interface?
I bought a usb-jigg (it on its way) but i think it wont help, maybe it will allow me to enter download mode, but if i flash a new stock or custom rom i will be in the same place, because i dont have a way to autorize adb whitout a working screen
So, i woinder if there's an app or script to authorize adb, or directly to access the phone wihout having to enable it
Thank you in advance
Greetings
Is there a list on the phone of authorised computers for adb communication?.
Some devices have a popup that asks if adb is allowed for that pc when you connect via usb.. You might have accidentally blocked it or even missed the prompt..
A shot in the dark but worth a try!.
