Undervolting the razr screen? - Motorola Droid RAZR

Hey guys, I've recently changed from an s2 to a razr. On the s2 however, it was possible to undervolt the screen with the help of either a custom kernel or a script, such as this one. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1715151
would it be possible to do the same with our razrs and the stock kernel? it was night and day difference for me in terms of battery life for the s2

yes it is.. the battery savings to the s2 was quite substantial...
i got all the way to kallsyms, but the variables are too different from the s2 for me to recognise them(am just a noob at this tweaking business).

I can tell you about Stocklite only. This, for me, is the best rom for Ace hands down. Deleted all the scripts (except A2SD), installed Ram Manager and set it to Balance (More Multitasking), running on 245-806 Smartass V6 and best of all, I get around 12hrs on 3G (From 100 to about 4%), 10 hrs on heavier usage.
I highly recommend it. I won't be installing any other roms after this one.

Battery life for stock ROM

Hey everyone, I have one question here. As soon as I purchased my Galaxy Tab I started flashing custom ROMs and actually don't know nothing about stocks battery life and can't compare. So can you tell me how long your battery last in stock ROM ir normal usage? On wifi, 3g, gps on and off.
I did the same but I don't think it's any better in stock.. Mine does 3.5/4 days with 8 hours screen with cm9

No, I don't think that stock will last better. I just want to know what is normal for this device and know if battery starts leaking.

Best thing you can do is test it yourself. Nobody else in the world is going to use the device like you...

Ugh when I tried it with stock, battery only last for one day. With pershoot's kernel, it last FREAKING long.

[Q] stock rom with better battery life

Guys, what stock rom has the better battery life, LPX or LPY?
Sorry about my english.

Not entirely sure about the "battery life" part since it depends mainly on personal usage
Cheers

Ok, I says bad. I understand this, but I really want say in standby mode.
I does the LPY update yesterday, it looks like draining more the battery.
If you want good battery life, enable system power saving. My phone went from 100% to 99% in three hours.
I would say go for Custom ROM+kernel for better battery life...many options to tweak with battery life....
Try Siyah 4.1.5, and underclock. See if that helps

I agree, custom roms and kernels are more customizable and will give better battery life.

I agree with custom kernel but in my experience stock ROM provides best battery. It's all very subjective though and this question can't really be answered as you use your phone differently to me.
Just try a few ROM and kernel combos and see for yourself
I get 7hours or more screen time and awesome performance too.
I'm using stock ROM and Siyah 4.1.5, underclocked and undervolted

Have you tried a different charger? Or try an external charger. Then I would get a stock firmware from www.sammobile.com and flash through Odin.

I have xt910 and my roommate have s2 i9100 , there are some comparison and suggestions for you :
1. S2's sreen is super amoled with RGB array , but razr's screen is pentile ,so in my experience S2 has the better performance in display.
2. My roommate says S2's camera is better than RAZR , I seldom take picture so I have no comment.
3. Razr's audio performance is very awesome ! Almost top of all android phone I think.
By the way , Razr have wonderful recovery "BMM" which provide six rom slots ! If you like flash new custom rom you'll enjoy it !
Well, im a music lover, but i love to take photo too. Screen is not a problem for me. Very2 confuse here.....

S2's camera isn't better than Razr's...
And quality and design is on Razr's side.
My opinion:definitely Razr!

On the US Razr 912, I also get about 8200 on stock. However with the CarbonROM, I was getting 8800-8900. Then with the JBX Kernel OC'ed to 1300 it was about 93xx.

Battery depends also alot on your usage. You and I have different usage of our phones so that's why it's impossible for me to know what kernel suits you best, this is also the reason why it's against forum rules to ask 'What's the best/good/decent xxx for my phone?' type of questions. (like this one)
Test out kernels and find one that suits you best. That's the only advice you'll get from me.
Sorry mate
