Hi I have a question regarding the Korean Version of the Galaxy SHV-E210S or K comparing to the Upcoming GT-I9305
Both will have the same specs (QUAD EXYNOS + LTE + 2GB RAM) only difference is the model numbers, now I was wondering how will the ROM support flashing be. Will the roms and kernels be interchangeable?
What about with the the above 2 phones with >>> GT-I9300... how interchangeable are they?.
As the Korean version will soon be released internationally in certain countries only carrying a different model number I just want to know before purchasing one or the other.
THank you

So theres no NFC for the uk version?
And apparently present in the Korean version when released?
Anyone know about versions in other regions?
Yeah, our korea Galaxy S2 will be released today or tomorrow. (It's KST - GMT +09 time)
Perfectly Korean version include NFC function.
But, korean version S2 too many localised to Korea
(like non-standard mms spec, smaller frequencies support than EU version, many bloat ware...ETC)
detail symptom is refer that my link.

Thanks.
It was apparently to keep the device as thin as possible. Some GS2's outside of the UK, the US and east asia will also be running on Tegra 2 and SLCD.

It's a 1.2 GHz Exynos now, not 1 GHz.
Is there any info for NFC for any other region?
I'd love to play with an exynos... but I much rather having one that has NFC considering I have the atrix... so the performance on exynos over tegra isnt that important but I'd love to experiment with nfc...
Also is the mms + sms difference in the korean version hardware or software?
As it has an unlocked bootloader, if its just software then I wont worry too much XD

MMS spec is perfectly different.
Most of GSM carrier use OMA-MMS. but korea SKTelecom use theris own SK-MMS spec. Framework layer and application layer are PERFECTLY different.
If only application problem, you will replace another sms application (like handcent) but, framework problem is critical issue. If you fixed this problem, you will modify GS2 SMS/MMS framework. may be impossible.
And our Korea galaxy S1 can't buff from XDA. because not global model its korea localised model.
I think GS2 may be same..
So I recommend that buy your region's i9100 model or wait a SG2 later model.(like SG3?!)
So it will be unlikely that the korean version's software can be replaced with the international version then?
Sigh... Thats unfortunate then

Get the international version i9100 or i9100P (has NFC)
Sorry do you have 4G network in Jordan?
@Nyssa1104 thank you man for reply international version has 1.2GHZ but t-mobile has 1.5GHZ why international are better i dont know if we have 4g but i certain that we have 3g
Definitely get the international version if you're planning on using custom firmware.
There seems to be a lot more development that has happened/is continuing to happen for this variant as opposed to the others. But as Nyssa mentioned, if you can get one (international) with NFC (so you can use it as a virtual wallet/tap to pay, etc) why not
@MistahBungle thanks man i didnt understand you so i will rewrite the question in another type if i bought a T-mobile can i unlock it to apply our Sim (orange, zain, ect) and what is the different between international and T-mobile
I honestly don't know if the T-Mobile version will work in your country or not (I have international version). The T-Mobile has slightly bigger screen, different processor, 4 touch buttons, support for 42mbps data speeds, and supports 1700mhz UTMS...This is all as far as I know. You might want to do a bit more research about the features yourself.
You might want to ask your carrier if this phone will work on their network or not before buying it.
thanks guy for help but i have a little question to people who used the 1.5 and 1.2 processor is there a big different between them
Are you sure you don't want a Galaxy Note? I wouldn't buy SGS2 now, when GN is out.
But if you get one, get the international.
AFAIK it's the same processor, only OCed a bit, what you can do with a custom kernel aswell.
T mobile sgs2 uses a qualcomm snapdragon which is based on the cortex A8 vs the A9 in the exynos and as such is slower clock for clock, so the 1.2ghz exynos is faster and has a better CPU.
I would go for the i9100, it supports GSM (2g) 850/900/1800/1900 and 3G 850/900/1900/2100 so make sure it will work on your network.

PS, I was bored so I checked the networks in Jordan, and as far as I can tell, they use 900 and 1800 so at least it will work on edge/2g and should work on 3g (old thread where someone said they are using a at&t iPhone 3g there on 3g fine, and the i9100 covers the same 3g bands) but I can't find any hard info so I can't be 100% sure.

I recommend buying the International i9100 BUT make sure it isn't the i9100G. It's far worse than the original i9100. Aside from that the AT&T SGS2 looks good too

Korean version is LTE enabled Quad Core with 2GB of RAM.
North American version is LTE enabled Dual Core with 2GB of RAM.
There are multiple korean versions for different carriers. The quadcore 2g lte model isn't out yet, and I can't remember what is already out (perhaps it is the same as the international version?).
The most important thing is to make sure the model works with the frequencies in your country/region - many countries are different in that regard.
Check the model number and google it, otherwise you might be stuck with a phone that has crippled data or reception (if it doesn't work with your region's bands).
Mines the quad core 2gb ram lte version from Korea it came out July 9 I got mine on Friday. But I been wondering the same thing I can't read Korean so the manual isn't worth squat to me. And can I use the custom roms that are made for us versions on this site for mine? Or will there be kernel compatibility problems?

If i buy the i9300 quad core version for mainly gameing purposes, will it last me a good 2 years for gaming? Or does anyone experience game lag on this phone?
Also does the i9300 get 3g with at&t sim?
AT&T galaxy S3s have a different forum.
This forum is for the international version (i9300).
The forum you're looking for is for the i747.
Also, the S3's graphics card is decent, but it might not play games 2 years from now perfectly.
3G should work no matter what S3 you get, however, only some models of S3s get 4G LTE.
The AT&T model has a slightly better graphics card and more RAM, so it probably is better for gaming.
Hi!
I am looking to buy this beautiful device.
There's a good deal on the ATT Version (G850A) UNLOCKED.
The question I have: is this the same as the F version (international unlocked)?
I want a device that can support LTE bands in my home country (1800), and does not have carrier bloat or depends on carrier updates. So my question is - can I buy the A and flash it to make it like the F?
Sorry, totally noob in this.
THANKS!
SM-G850F is with Exynos 5 Octa 5430, and SM-G850A for AT&T is Snapdragon 801
850f is octacore 850a quad core.
850a has a ton of lag. And battery drain.
If u want the octacore version with LTE
The 850m is the north american octacore version
Thanks so much! never even knew there was a G850M. Maybe they are rare?
is there a regional lock on the ATT variant? Also - is it possible to ROOT and put a different ROM on the ATT variant? Thanks?
no at the moment
Who locked it? ATT? Why would they do that?
