And it's true! I've been using this rom for a couple of day and the battery actually last longer when using wifi especially.
How does this compare to 651.167.20 that I've been running for three weeks already?
Lower version numbering?
Updated, so far so good. In Apps menu it says 7 hidden, but when I go to Hidden apps there is only six apps
No sign of it here in sunny Scotland yet. (I'm on a SIM-free UK retail RAZR)
The words "Battery life improvements" make me go all warm and fuzzy!

I see the Ultra is not supported for this App. Disappointing considering we still can't download with Iplayer.......
Devices which can use Anywhere app
Sony Xperia L (C2105)
Sony Xperia SP (C5302/03/06)
Sony Xperia Z (C6602/03)
Sony Xperia Z1 (C6902/03/06/43)
Sony Xperia U (ST25)
It's Virgin's responsibility to update their app. Send them a mail and ask if they can update it.
The Ultra is missed by a lot of developers. I've had a good response rate from developers and they have all said that they acknowledge the issue and will get an update done.

They have only just added any Android support - took them ages. Use the "Contact Us" form on their website to request it to be added, that's what I've done.
If you are rooted there uses a module for xposed called play store fixes which tricks it into thinking the dpi of the phone is different.

I don't believe it's a DPI issue, it's model.
Answer from Virgin Media, not good news:
Thanks for your e-mail to Virgin Media about the availability of the
Sony Xperia Z Ultra on TV Anywhere.
We understand your concern.
Right now, we're sorry but it doesn't look like we've got any plans to
add Sony Xperia Z Ultra on TV Anywhere App. We're always working with
the providers to bring our customers even more choice on Virgin TV, so
keep your eyes peeled! And check out www.virginmedia.com for the latest

I don't see why there's a problem, there are many android devices with the same screen resolution and processor.
I would try one of the market helper apps, or xposed, to make Google Play think you're on a recognised device. I had to do this with previous phone, Note 2, to load the tesco clubcard TV app.

Doesn't the phone have to be rooted to use xposed? If so, then the app won't work anyway on rooted devices according to the comments in the store
A late reply but I have a One X which is also not supported. I used Device Spoofer to make my device appear as the HTC One. I was able to download and install the app from the market. In addition the app's record, remote control and program manager functions work perfectly however the ability to watch programs on the phone is blocked by a root checker.

You can only install the app on an approved device though (officially). The TVguide app has record functions but it doesn't have have network remote features.
Why do they do a root check? You can use the software on any PC, with whatever hacks you want installed, but there's some obsession with root on Android...
I Just bought a Sony Xperia Z2 (D6503 LTE) brand new it is the Middle Eastern Version if I'm not mistaken (EN,AR,FA) anyway I wanted to update to Lollipop, decided to use PC Companion and chose the country as United States in the initial start up, and I updated it with no problem, But the problem that I have now is that I can't install some apps from Sony such as the "PlayStation Video" App which was formerly known as Video Unlimited, I had that app on KitKat but it's gone for good now and I can't install it, But what I'm asking is that the firmware currently on my phone is the US firmware?
If you type #*#7378423#*#* in your dial section, a service menu will pop up. Press service info and then software info. Check under active Customaziation. Mine is 1282-0508_R5C. Google it and look around what comes up. You can also download xperiafirm and check there.
There may me an easier way, but this is the only one I know.
When I searched, I found out it was the NDC firmware, witch is Nordic Combined
Sent from my Xperia Z2 somewhere in Norway
Thanks for the info man, I appreciate it after doing a bit of research I found out that I'm still running the Middle Eastern Firmware.
No trouble

Hello,i have received an OTA update for 16s (I am on official Chinese rom) Have anybody found the complete rom because I am on twrp and can't update or is there a way to revert to original recovery?
U can download a full original 15s rom and flash it. It will flash back the original Recovery.
Then u can flash the "Update.zip" using your original recovery.
I've also received the update to 016s (chinese ROM) and as I had just installed the 015s, it upgraded automatically to it. I have to say that the fingerprint sensor is flying now. I'd say that it's even faster than on X829 016s ROM. I even don't need to fully press the finger on the reader like I did with 015s, just barely touch it and it unlocks. The Remote Control got updated to 3.0 (I guess it was updated before to this version as well). Still the Android security patch level is June 1, 2016. Not sure what is the changelog and what other improvements it has.
16S has also been released for Indian beta testers only. Not official yet.
Someone can upload the update.zip file ?
im on the official indian rom(from here) but im not getting the update.

The Indian ROM still has not received the 16S update. Very few beta testers had received the 16S OTA update. According to LE staff, it fixes fingerprint problem and adds compatibility with Reliance JIO 4G VoLTE network.
We will have to wait for it to become official.

So far, Le Max 2 has supported most LTE frequencies out of the box. If there is any one particular obscure LTE frequency you want support for, do mention. Chinese vendors on Aliexpress and ebay do cut-copy-paste stuff of product information so it is hard to tell which model supports what.

In my country, my telco using LTE Band 3 and 7, also provide LTE-A CA_3A_7A.
For normal LTE, i'm able to use without issue.
Whenever i fall into the LTE-A coverage area, my signal will totally dropped, can't use any DATA.
Anyone using LTE-A/4G+ with CA_3A_7A without any issue?

We can't do much as our LE Max 2 has s*** firmware. Here it cannot even hold calls on old 3G network. I regret buying this idiot device.

Just installed the chinese 16s over indian 15s stock
On first boot, phone asked to register the figerprint data again, and the fp sensor is definitely working better than earlier.
updated flawlessly OTA. only downside is that my Google Play Services seems to be crashing every few. it didn't do that before.
Got a score of ~125.8k on first try Antutu on chinese 16s rom
On second attempt after reboot the score reached 131.3k
Both test at room temperature.
Screenshot
finally in 16s my fp is working agian. Literally not working before this.
My question is, what differences are there between the leaked US rom and the Chinese?
I was unable to find Google play store app in Chinese 16S rom. It may be having region specific optimizations for LTE.
Installing apk wizard is different in Chinese. In Chinese ROMs, it asks us to delete apk after installation and also gives a percentage of installation completion. Whereas, US and Indian ROMs have google style apk installation wizard with no option offered to keep or delete the apk.

Hi Sanke1,
Got the same problemss you got : my device hung up every 3 minutes ???
I then changed the communication protocols used to select only those used in Europe (I can do this in CM13 don't know if the 16s allows it too...) And now everything is back to normal !
Maybe you should try that ?
As you do I sometimes curse this device and I certainly curse the lack of source release by the manufacturer... It they'd do the device would be really great !!!!
Regards
Two serious issues remain right now, with the Xperia 1: Xperia Transfer Mobile can't be installed on it (Sony hasn't updated it on Google Play so that we can install it on our Xperia 1 Devices), and the Xperia 1 isn't available on Open Devices, meaning, custom-ROM development will be delayed for a while. I can only imagine these two issues are taking this long, because Sony Mobile lost its independence or whatever the fuss was about, when Sony Mobile and Alpha began cooperating with the camera lenses and so on.
I do believe Sony will add the Xperia 1 to Open Devices, because they've added the Xperia 10, and it was released a few months earlier, so Sony should be adding the Xperia 1 soon, but how long are we going to have to wait for the Open Devices and Xperia Transfer Mobile to get sorted out? I have some app data and sms messages and so on, that I need to move from my Xperia XZ to my Xperia 1, and a simple update to make XTM work with the Xperia 1, shouldn't take this long.
Try sms backup+ maybe

Google basically shut it out of Gmail, so that app's future looks uncertain right now. And it's not like it's only sms messages I want backed up to my Xperia 1, but also some offline app data (old apps with no sync).
Point is, Sony should have had Xperia Transfer Mobile ready for the Xperia 1 at launch.
So, the Xperia 1 has now been added to Sony's Open Devices list. Hopefully LineageOS developers will start working on porting LineageOS to the Xperia 1. As for Xperia Mobile Transfer, unfortunately Sony won't be adding support for the Xperia 1 or any 2019 Xperia. People should email and call Sony and complain about it.
