My local network operator (T-Mobile PL) does claim to support "HD Voice" service in its network and Sony Xperia S as one of the compatible handsets. However, my Xperia S bought sim-free in the UK doesn't seem to support it. As far as I was able to google around the subject, "HD Voice" service is supported by the "AMR-WB" codec. When I check the service menu *#*#7378423#*#* -> Service Info -> Configuration -> Available Speech Codecs, it only lists: HR, FR, EFR, AMR_HR, AMR_FR codecs.
So, I'm trying to determine which Xperia S units sourced from which retailers/networks DO have relevant codec enabled. So please type *#*#7378423#*#* in the phone pad and check which codecs are listed in the Service Info -> Configuration -> Available Speech Codecs section, as well as original source where you have Xperia S from (which country, operator etc.)? Thanks in advance.

Hi All
I have an unlocked (not debranded though) HTC 7 Mozart which is branded to T-Mobile Germany.
I have put in a UK T-Mobile SIM...and in the UK it has been working fine voice, data etc.
However, when I first went overseas with it (Italy) the data connection did not work at all..got the text message saying need a booster package etc. to use roaming data.
Responded to text to enabled data booster and T-Mobile acknowledged active...but when trying to browse internet it says "page not found" (rather than showing agreement splash screen) and emails are not syncing.
Checked that roaming enabled (yes) and also tried 3 operators (Telecom Italia, 3 and WIND) but all no good.
Wanted to check APN settings but Windows Phone 7 will not allow it (only option to add a new APN!) :-(
Other people with Tmob UK SIMs (different handsets such as Nokia E72) were working fine.
Any ideas as to what is going wrong ? (maybe Tmob Germany handset with Tmob UK SIM is not good ?).
Thanks
tomhass
Looks as though the answer was to Add APN with the correct UK APN settings - I think the T-Mobile German ROM must have an embedded German APN (not visible though) which you have to override by doing an Add APN.

P10 has just received a small update in Denmark which enables VoLTE and VoWiFi on Telenor and TDC and their partners networks. It is a feature that's long waited.
These problems are happening to me
Hello
Please, what's the exact settings path to activate this function?
Thanks
I gave my Honor 5x to my father in law.
He works in Italy, and we live in Croatia.
So hi has two sim cards, one Italian (Wind network), and other Croatian (Bonbon, T-mobile brand network).
When dialing somenone from contacs (eg his son), using Croatian card, while in Croatia, (sim 2 in this case), phone app automatically adds Italian country code in front contacts number.
This results in "this number cannot be dialed or does not exist" message.
If he mannualy punches in the mobile phone number, even without Croatian country code, call is OK.
Does anybody have similar problem with this phone and how to resolve this?
I was unable to find the solution in dialer, contact and sim card settings.
Thanks
Hi. I've recently ordered a new XZ1 from Japanese distribution. Phone is working (without NFC of course) on latest Customized CE1 firmware. But I have a problem with calling. I can call anybody but no one can call me. LTE/4G and Edge/2G data is working. But phone doesn't see any 3G networks (I tried 2 Polish Play SIMs and one Plus SIM with the same effect). I enabled VoLTE by flashing oem from Japanese Softbank but this didn't help. I checked service menu - simlock status and there is one "X" sign at Network subset with number 5 beside. So now - is it possible to fully unlock sim so that I could actually use WCDMA connectivity to receive calls?
Network [0] either means the phone is network unlocked or unlocking no longer available
Network Subset [5] mean the phone is Carrier restricted and this restriction only allow certain SIM cards (most being seen CDMA network band I 2.0GHz)
you might have to either contact the distributors (au, docomo, SoftBank) or provide these informations to 3rd party services.
Hi,
I've got the same issue with my japanese XZ1 (SOV36), only EDGE or 4G.
Did you figure out how to fix it ?
Hi, I'm unable to connect to a 5G network that I can catch in my area.
"NR only" in *#*#4636#*#* does absolutely nothing and it shows "NR available (NSA): false" in the same menu.
I'm located in Slovakia and using Slovak Telekom (a Deutsche Telekom subsidiary - same as US T-Mobile).
I confirmed my eSIM is 5G compatible and connectable and that the signal can be caught in this place.
Everything is stock and the exact version of the phone is G1AZG - so the Global/International Variant.
This same devices works no problem in Austria, and I found some articles about Google software locking this ability in "unsupported regions".
If anyone has any useful info/experience with this, I'd be very very thankful for sharing.
Hi, without root this won't work with your carrier.
I'm from Czech Republic and everything works on my Pixel 6 including VoLTE, VoWifi and 5G. Of course, Czech Republic is also one of the unsupported countries.
