Good day, I have been testing your newest longhorn since u released it a few days ago. I have to say it is much more responsive then ur last version. Like: screen, launching apps, the feel and battery management is awesome compared to last version. But I have noticed a few minor issues that I have noticed in this release like, screen unlock laggs a bit and I have noticed that the wifi has shorter range in my house compared to last version of langhorn.
I was also wondering why u removed the option for overclocking?
But I must say that I really like ur rom and wanted to say good job.

I think the CPU was intentionally set to max 998 from the Kernel, as it features the Balanced Kernel by Tenorntex, with many governors and other things, probably oveclocking will be implemented in a future release

by the way.. usually overclocking is not good for your streak health and battery... and performance is not always stable... but right now... it is pretty much stable...
Dear all,
How is the battery performance? The last version was bad, only 9 hours for reguler use.

I find the battery performance a budge improvement compared to last version, I was watching a full movie and surfing the web and even listen to some music's and the battery was at around 50% when I went to bed. Last version I was charging this phone at least 2 timmes a day.

I'm noticing that if I don't use my Streak for a while, say 30 minutes, with LH 2.9.3 the phone will go unresponsive and I'll have to pull the battery to use it again. The screen will be dark and won't respond with posting any of the buttons.
Is anyone else having this issue?
I should note that it is using WiFi in airplane mode since I don't have a carrier for my Streak.
Otherwise this version has been a good update!

so you are saying that even when you press the power button.. the screen would not light up?
Yep, that's what happens.
Naturally, since I posted this, I had it work as expected. (It was idle for a few hours and the power button lit the screen.)
I'm thinking it may be an app issue, or maybe usage related (?), as this time I didn't use Google reader or the browser between turning it on and letting it idle.
I still think this was worth reporting.
Given the symptoms I don't see an obvious way to troubleshoot easily. If there are any thoughts/suggestions, is be interested in them.

Update on this:
I've got a feeling that this happens when I use Google Reader. I have some testing to do to confirm but it appears to be related to having used some certain app(s).
Well, it's not Reader. It seems that it maybe the battery running down faster than I'm expecting. What troubles me is that it's not consistent. Sometimes the battery can last days and other times it only lasts multiple hours despite a similar usage pattern. *shrug*

So recently my eris has been lagging really bad to the point where its pissing me off. it was working fine for a couple of month then the lag started so i factory reset my phone but the lag is still there. it would lag from 30 seconds to mins... I have the latest sensable rom on my phone and i dont think its the rom that is bad..
I was wondering what i can do about this lag.. is my phone broken? Another thing to add is that when the lag started my trackball also started to mess up it occasionally... a lot... moves the left. connection?
If your trackball is starting to scroll to the left at random times, then the lag could definitely be a hardware issue. I had the same issue before I got a replacement Eris. If your phone is still within warranty, then I would take it in and ask for a replacement.
i bought my phone used off of ebay... so i dont think i have warranty...

I remember seeing a thread long time ago with a guide about cleaning underneath the trackball. Removing lint and other particles might help your situation.
Just did a search. There are more thread regarding it, but here is one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=716681
Have you changed your cpu frequency lately? It might not like the speed you are running it at. Also if you are using the setcpu widget that can cause problems.

What ROM are you using? Many of the custom ROMs have SetCPU built in. It is fairly simple to use. Just adjust the slider bars for the minimum and maximum speeds. If you set it too high, it can cause kernel panic, which may result in random reboots and lag at times. Higher speeds also consume more battery power. If the minimum is too low, it might take a bit longer to wake up, once the screen is off.
I'm using senseable Rom. There isn't the setcpu app.

I love this phone, its really the best phone money can buy @its price.
But like allways, there must be something there that must drive us/me crazy.
This phone losses 30% of its "beauty" because of the "touchscreen pushed makes CPU go to 100%" , losses another 40% for the "buttons working but the touchscreen freezes" bug and It wont unfreeze until you do a "lock and swipe unlock" .
So untill this phone gets an official update that fixes all the problems above (2.3, or 2.2 or 2.2.1, really dont care", I'm using this beauty just as a phone (30% calls and sms).
Additional notes: till now i've tried Pimev2 and now runing void (Thanks for your work Noejn).
What do you guys think about this ?

About touch-100%-CPU-problem - this problem have many devices, but unfortunately, as other phones have about 50% CPU when screen is touched, optimus have 100%. Anyway, this main problem should be fixed in 2.3 android release.
About buttons-working-but-the-touchscreen-freezes problem I have to say, sorry. I didn't notice this problem at all.
And at the end I would like to add ARMv6-CPU, which brings too many limitations, one of the worst is Flash player support, which we will never see

why are expecting so much from a budget phone??
be satisfied with wat u have, its jst a phone :|
OK, I have written an app to attempt and stop call wonkyness on CM7 builds. Specifically the phone locking up when making and receiving calls.
It's my observation that it's the mic that causes the phone to lock up and so this app opens and closes the mic every minute to keep it "fresh". It's a long shot, but I can't seem to duplicate wonkyness with it enabled so I'm posting it for other to try.
Now after a few positive comments to help boost my confidence in the app, I've made it's own thread to make it easy to track comments.
Just install and run (or just reboot as it auto-start on boot). To disable, uninstall it.
Please post your results!
Change Log:
Version 1.4
Made service more persistent by adding notification bar. Turns out, Android was killing off the service when memory was running low causing wonk to surface.
Version 1.3
Can only be installed on internal memory. Needed to make sure the service can started up on boot. (Thanks to mjukis for pointing this out)
Version 1.2
Only dewonkificates when screen is off to avoid conflicts with any apps you may be using.
Removed debug logging
[Post edited because the wonkyness is still there and this .apk works fine to fix it]
Dude.... As best as I can tell in 20 minutes' time, this damn thing seems to actually work! Gotta tell ya how skeptical I was....but I'm pretty flippin' pleased right now!
Good looking out!!
Much appreciated for this app.
While it's still too early to say it's 100% working, so far so good.
I have had the wonk since build 3 to 23 (except for 16).
I will keep testing and report back often.
That's great news and I'm happy that it looks like it's working for people. I was on the edge of rolling back and this was a desperate attempt to fix it.
Agree with the op. Can't say for sure its the miracle I've been waiting for... but 4 calls in (admittedly 2 from myself, ) no wonks. When I'd expect all to be wonky
If this 'wonklessisity' continues you will surely become supreme ruler of xda!
Will report back soon.

Currently I can't see any measurable battery drain. Dewonkificator doesn't even show on the About phone->Battery use screen. Increasing the time between dewonkification might be work, but since battery doesn't seem to be a issue and we don't know what the source of the problem is I don't think its worth risking or investigating.
I also believe it have something to do with the mic, since all apps that use it have the same freeze, and it seems to work for me. Thanks

This bug is the reason I got off CM7 nightlies, so damn annoying. Maybe this is a Gingerbread thing rather than a Nexus S problem cause the Nexus S is supposed to be rebooting itself while in calls as I'm sure everyone knows.

Is anyone else getting Android OS around 50-60% battery use?
I have tried every ROM included going back to stock. I have ran the phone with nothing but Stock and no apps installed for a day and still get the same drain so I can only assume its a kernel issue.
I am not familiar with LG products in the slightest, but I had a yellow screen of death the other day...something I have never seen in my years with samsung android products. Anyone have any idea what this is maybe it is pointing to a hardware issue?
LG made a great phone, but I don't think I will keep it much longer. Locked boot loaders, no sources, and history of terrible updates have me regretting purchasing this phone. I tried my hand at building a working jb release when I first got the phone and it is going to take a skill set I do not have and I hate waiting on a company to do what they've never done in the past..

Easy, brother. I have only had one of my apps/utilities run higher than AndroidOS ever on this phone; however, that said, I think there is a problem with the way it's being calculated. I'm getting really good battery life with good sleep and still AndroidOS shows the highest by far. I know that's abnormal for it to be so high and still get good battery life, but it is what it is.
Edit: you've installed the fast dormancy toggle, right? As for the yellow screen, I've seen it once in my two months with the phone, just rebooted and carried on. Forgot what they said it was...but it is here in this forum somewhere.

I was just about to post something similar. Andriod OS being high kind of makes sense if nothing else is using the battery, although you would expect that number to fall significantly with increased screen on time and heavy app usage, which it doesn't ever seem to.
I've been having horrible battery drain lately. I'm currently traveling for business, and just use my OG for web surfing and stuff when I'm in my hotel. I leave the phone in airplane mode, with WiFi on. About two weeks ago, when I was on The Base 0.4 in that same configuration, my battery would drain maybe 1% an hour while I was sleeping.
Recently I've been on The Base 0.7.3, and my battery drains over 5% an hour while I'm sleeping. This means no screen on, no apps running, and even turning WiFi off! How does it use that much battery when it's not doing anything? Now, I'm not entirely sure what kernel I'm running. The first time I installed The Base 0.7.3 I used sk8's kernel. After getting poor battery life, I reflashed 0.7 and 0.7.3, this time choosing the freegee kernel. I'm not actually sure if the kernel changed though.
Anyway, I think I'll post again tomorrow with some screenshots from Better Battery Stats+ and CPU Spy.
I'm wondering if this recent botched update had the battery fixes we need. Hopefully they'll re-release it soon.

When I would get bad drain, which has happened several times, I could narrow it down to a couple things in order to solve the problem.
In my case it would always happen after installing Google+. Uninstall and reboot would usually fix the issue. If I got drain on a fresh install without g+ installed, I found that if I installed the 2.2 kernel separately as a stand alone zip, that would fix it. Don't know why but it may work for you too.
I don't have screen shots, but today I recharged at 38% after 3:10 of phone use and 1:55 screen on time and about 15 hours off charger. That's with Wi-Fi on the whole time and Bluetooth for about 9 hours. I have my work exchange account on active sync with push notifications. Facebook and Twitterer to 4 hour intervals. I'm underclocked to 1350 and using powersave gov with deadline.

Believe you are correct. There were issues on the Samsung Infuse and even the international SGS3 for a while... it was referred to as 'memory leak.' Has been worked out by devs on XDA. You can put memory leak in the XDA search above... it's above my pay grade.
Edit: It's great to see another RD here... hope you will reconsider keeping the phone and stay !!

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I have Google+ uninstalled, but part of me thinks Google Now may be partially the culprit (although why that would be the case with all radios off, I don't know).
I'll try a fresh install of the 2.2 kernel and see if that helps. Thanks.
I can't speak for anyone else but FDT did wonders for my battery life. I was only able to go about 12 hours prior to disabling FD.

^^^ This is indeed worth considering.... I think the question then becomes why is it consistent among the 3 roms we are using? Maybe when JB source is out and something is built from source all will be good.

I would be less inclined to believe it is a faulty measure if we had a different ROM not built off stock (AOKP/CM10) that could produce different values. However, I seriously doubt anything built into either of the two custom ROM's is geared toward normalizing that reading. That's why they are both the same as the stock AndroidOS percentages. Jivy is probably right that it's a kernel issue. With the size battery we have, imagine the potential if it is a true reading (androidOS out-of-control) and we can get it under control down the road. We're talking double the current best battery life you've ever had on this phone at the very least.

Get BetterBatteryStats, select Since unplugged and Alarms to see what is waking the device (making it not go into a deep sleep). eBay was a big culprit for me.
The wakelock that keeps the phone awake during background data transfer (screen off) lasts 6 seconds (I am guessing it does it in multiples of 6s) regardless of how long the sync takes. Everytime email, facebook, gmail, drive, picasa, twitter, g+, google maps, ebay, calendar, contacts.. whatever wakes the phone to check something, it will be a minimum of 6 seconds.. This adds up over the course of the day and it is counted in the Android OS. Shut down syncs you don't absolutely want/need and this number will go down. All phones with the Snapdragon S4 Pro has it, especially the Nexus4. It seems they've done some kernel work to fix/reduce it but I havent really looked into it since I don't have that phone. I've seen complaints in the Droid DNA forum as well.

This. EBay for me too. BetterBatteryStats is your friend.
Anyone else experiencing scrolling lag or delay. Clearing cache and wiping dalvik fixes it but the issue returns after about two days.
