I've stock rom ICS with stock recovery. I've rooted and installed CWM using this mathod:
rooting can cause slowness or higher heat?

I think the device may be more warmer and little bit laggy? could it be? or i am just dreaming?

Rooting does not change you system it just provides you access to the root directory..
It does not change your kernel..
So there is no question of such a thing happening..
It is Ike asking if having the ability to pop open your car bonnet can cause your car to be slow or high heat.
It depends on what you did after you pop it open.

Which CWM ?
This was sent from a Galaxy Ace. Problem?
I get that everytime, never minded. Happens to me with both cwm4 and cwm5 on stock KP3, ddqk8 and stock based roms. Never tried doing it on cm based roms.
yeah, happen to me too.
I'm using this version of CWM.

Umm... no. Its not. For it to happen to a lot of people on different roms and kernels? You really think its a kernel issue?
It's probably an issue with cwm and it's also probably related to the type of kernel. To say the truth, I don't think it's that big a deal. It has posed no real problems to me when flashing, and if anything, removing the battery will do the trick. A minor inconvenience in an otherwise perfect tool.
yes, i encountered this issue too. I wonder how to turn off phone from recovery without take out battery
But NOT big deal for me

Its not a big deal, but its annoying. You'll have to wait till your phone boots to be able to turn it off. Taking off the case, then taking off the battery cover and taking out the battery is a lot of work to just turn your phone off.

You are completely right. However, it's a free tool.
I mean, even the stock Samsung firmware gives Fc and issues every now and then and they do get paid by us users (both on acquisition and through Google adds, and free marketing data)

Not on the Ace. If you hold the power button, it'll reboot and not power off.

Yup my phone updated, if I install custom Kernel, when I unroot it and stock ROM can I still get back to my official Kernel version? And can I still get my warranty?
+1, sometimes it gets quite hot, sometimes not. Either has something to do with rooting or stock kernel is bad. Reboot fixes it temporarily here...
Of course it gets warm when you're doing things with the phone, it's what processors (and pretty much everything else in the world) does when doing work.
It's not a bug, nor a problem, just a thing that happens to everything.
High temperature means the CPU is working.
If you're surfing the WEB, it's quite normal with todays heavy usage of Javascript and animations on webpages. Custom kernels can reduce it somewhat by not going to full CPU speed (1.4GHz) directly, but this will naturally reduce the phone's "instant" performance.
I wouldn't say it gets heating up or hot. Just feel warmer. That's all. Nothing to worry about.

This only happens to me when I'm trying to use my phone while it is plugged in and charging. It acts all crazy, but once I unplug it the thing works fine. I pretty much keep my phone in ECO mode and haven't switched that off to see if it makes a difference.
Same here. I keep my phone on ECO mode and have no issues with responsiveness, except for once in a while when it's plugged in and charging.

That's horse ****! Someone has to come up with a fix for this! Doesn't eco mode cap the processors at 1.1 or something?

I DO have that problem with mine. I am unlocked, rooted and running nottach's Base ROM the problem has reoccurred with the stock ROM and versions 0.5, 0.6.5 and 0.7.3 .
It's probably a kernel-level memory or CPU issue because for most people it appears to be a specifically time-based problem. The longer your uptime is, the worse the problem gets. Reboot your phone and the problem goes away for awhile.

Amrando, inflammatory and unhelpful statements aren't going to win you any help with your problems. It's just alienating those that would otherwise help you out and gets you reported to the mods.

I've edited your post. This is a great example of the same phone, running a similar set up behaving completely different. The user you quoted wasn't doing anything other than stating that they don't have this problem so chill out a little and accept that each person can have a different experience and opinion. If you've got nothing useful to say, say nothing.
Thanks

First off
Is it even effective on these phone's or is it strictly bragging rights
Secondly
If it's effective how's affect the battery?
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
Accidentally thanked lol. The phone is buttery smooth either way. As far as power consumption, check the voltages through an app like Android Tuner. If I'm correct, all the voltages are raised for overclocked kernels. Higher voltage = more power consumption.

As soon as I got my LGOG I wanted to see what more I could get out of it as well. I really didn't notice any difference in performance but It did get a lot warmer and drain the battery much faster. I think LG is already pushing the SnapDragon. You'll notice much more of a performance boost by just flashing a more efficient ROM.
Haven't quite figured out how to flash without paying for an app

You're discussing overclocking so I'm assuming you're already rooted. All you really need after that is ClockworkMod (CWM) or TWRP. I used project FreeGee available on the xda forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2001655 It will unlock your bootloader and install CWM. After that you can flash whatever you want from recovery mode (the video on the thread will cover all the how tos) I'm not sure if they've updated FreeGee to install the touch version of CWM. If not there is an easy update howto at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010984 Remember to ALWAYS create a Backup in recovery before flashing anything. HAPPY FLASHING
Hey guys!So let me be short and precise:When I am on wifi/3g my phone heats up and gets to 41º C, but when I play something like Nova 3 or MC4 it gets around 50 ºC.These temperatures are shown in CPU-Z.Once I "managed" to get 56ºC while playing and while it was charging.
The question is, how can I fix this problem?I heard that the modem incompatibility may be the problem, but I am thinking that anything else can cause this heating problem.Oh, and I forgot to say, the battery is getting empty pretty fast.I am on custom rom with the last version of siyah kernel.
