I know Google has a 15min refund policy, but I bought this game, after initial download from the PlayStore, it require additional download of 1.6GB, which took more than 15 minutes. After that the game would not run at all, I feel that I deserve refund for for a game that does not run on my device. Is there a way for me to get refund?

E-mail the developer, there should be an e-mail link in the market. Just explain the situation, if its a legit company (say you download Sonic 4 Ep1 from Sega, for example) the customer service should be willing to refund you.

I saw a new App from Experian where you can access your credit report from your phone. Has anyone tried this? I already have an account with freecreditreport.com so I downloaded it, but I am too paranoid to enter my personal information.
check the webpage and support info on the app, if everything links back to the official experian websites should be ok...
not too many hackers with the balls to imitate big credit bearu names, lol
thats federal time there.
also browse google and see if there are any mentions from experian theirself about a release of a mobile app.
I would probably stay away from that app.... I don't know if that app is legit. I checked google and didn't find anything about it. I also went to the source experian.com and didn't find any info. Now I'm not saying it's bogus, but just suggesting that you stay away from it until confirmed that it's the real deal.

Looks a lot like their new iPhone app. I wouldn't worry about it.
I have been advised to not use freecreditreport.com, I have been told to instead use annualcreditreport.com
This below is from militaryonesource
Thanks to the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA), every U.S. citizen is entitled to a free credit report once a year from each of the three main credit reporting bureaus: Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. There are three ways to order your credit reports: online, by phone, and through the mail.
To order your credit report online, go to www.annualcreditreport.com. This centralized Web site sponsored by the three main credit bureaus allows you to order all three reports and view them instantly online.
To order your report over the phone, call 1-877-322-8228. Your credit report will be mailed to you within 15 days.
To order a report by mail, you will need to fill out an annual credit report request form. Go to https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/requestformfinal.pdf to find a copy of this form online. Then mail the form to:
Annual Credit Report Request Service
P.O. Box 105281
Atlanta, GA 30348-5281
Due to security reasons, www.annualcreditreport.com does not work from overseas. If you're stationed or deployed outside the U.S., you can print the form to order your report by mail at www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/include/requestformfinal.pdf.
When you get your reports, look them over carefully. If there's anything you don't understand, call the credit bureau for an explanation. The reports include a lot of information and you may need some help interpreting them the first time you see them. Federal law requires that the bureaus make this help available to you. Here is the contact information for each of the three main credit bureaus:

Also it is probably best if you order only 1 report every 4 months so this way you can check your credit 3 times per year instead doing all 3 and having to wait another year for free reports. This is even recommended in the Frequently Asked Questions section.
Actually, you want to monitor your report. It is a good way to keep an eye on things. I use freecreditreport.com which is actually Experian.com and love it. I started using it at regular price which was around 15 a month, then I called and said I wanted to cancel, I couldn't afford it. They dropped in 50% now I pay 7 bucks. I pull a free one once or twice a month. It's quite essential to monitor your report. Don't listen to people who don't know how important it is.

"free"creditreport.com is fine to use as long as you know going in that it's not necessarily "free" (you have to sign up for credit monitoring services that charge). The only source for true free credit reports is the once-a-year annualcreditreport.com site.
I personally use creditkarma.com, it's free, you get a score calculated by your TransUnion credit report, and targeted credit card and loan offers even. Has a bunch of tools to help you manage your finances and credit too.
Thanks for the replies. I didn't find any mention of an Android app on the freecreditreport.com website. Doesn't mean it isn't legit, but you can never be too cautious.
I know this condoned but is it possible for someone to buy an app/game from the Android Market, copy it to memory, get a refund, then reinstall the copy? It seems like developers should have protection to prevent this, but is this why they reduced the refund time from 24 hours to 15 minutes? Seems like 15 minutes is more than enough time to do the steps above.
You wouldn't be able to get any updates that the app would get if said app were to get updates

That makes sense. And I guess they dont allow you to buy the app again and get a 2nd refund. If thats the case, I dont see why developers have an issue with the old refund time period.
I thought it was always a nice thing to say in comparison to Apple and their image.... "yeah, Android also lets you try out paid apps a full 24 hours, as opposed to a click and pray the app doesn't suck approach like apple"
I can't do that anymore.. Not really.
Is there a way to complain to Google at a high level and get a refund for a market purchase? My daughter tried to buy $2.60 worth of "points" for "Pretty Pet Salon" 3 days ago. She brought me the money and I clicked the link, it took me to the market, where I paid and it said it would be downloaded. We've gotten nothing and I emailed the company who told me to go into the app and send a form mail from there with the Google order number and their reference number, both of which were quoted in the same mail. Idiots. This seems like nothing but lazy programming where they don't know how to properly hook up in-app purchases.
I'd like to report this as fraud (non-delivery of goods) and have it charged back. I'll do it via the credit card if I have to but I was hoping the Android Market had a mechanism to file a complaint and dispute the charge.
Anyone know?
Thanks,
Mike

from the point of view as an android app developer, our google checkout inbox shows all purchases with a long unique random order id number and then the individual's name. it is very easy to cancel an order. it takes one button press on the cancel order button, select from the drop down customer requested and press cancel order. less than 10 seconds, max.
i would prob ask the developer again to cancel your order as its very simple and quick. perhaps you can provide them my directions above if they need help, hah.
in regards to filing a compliant against the developer, i haven't seen any buttons or links in the market for this. i know a 1 star rating always ruins my day, but im a small developer. for a larger developer a 1 star rating might not mean much.
if they are a larger developer, perhaps the link they provide to their web site will allow you to get in contact with somebody who might be more helpful than whoever replied to your last email thru the market.
i did a quick google search and didnt see any avenues for filing a complaint against the developer. perhaps going back thru your credit card company, as each charge is coded for a specific developer, might show google there is an issue with a specific developer.
hope that helps!
Found a Report App link
Hi There,
I was looking for the same, so i landed up here but no one had provided a working link to Report a Fraud App, but i searchd further on Google and came across the following:
oops can't post URL
well here is a workaround
you know bit dot ly right? the link is
bit dot ly slash f3QgsS
Google has contact options for most of their prodcuts on the google.com/support pages i guess, this is indeed a neater format to report to Google
Best Regards,
Karan
I'd just like to post this to share my experience with the Gameloft support team. In the past I've read posts in which users complained about Gameloft's support, to the point which some users claimed it un-existent! However here's my take. I purchased Gangstar Rio: City of Saints for my Xperia S from the Play Store, after installing it I received an error saying that it was not comatible with my device. All I did was go back to the store and email them. Within a day of having filed my issue I received a response in which they apologised and gave me an alternate link to the game. Unfortunately the game stll did not work, I simply contacted them again and they replied within a day. They apologised again and said that they could not identify the issue but to compensate offered me a game of my choice from their store free of charge. This all took less than 2 days which in my opinion is extremely responsive. All I'm trying to say is if you have a problem just contact them, their support is really amazing and judging from previous posts has improved a lot! Well this was just my experience, feel free to share yours
when i tried contacting them, they replied once asking for my phone number, then sent me a barrage of push notifications trying to force my phone to start the WRONG game (not even the game that was faulty), and since then i've had no reply from them, despite trying to contact them again. at no point did they offer me a refund, or try and get my game working. never buying gameloft again.
Hello, I only published one app and was hoping it would at least get me my 25$ back.
I'm from Romania and I don't find 25$ to be a cheap price. The other problem with me being Romanian is that I can't open a merchant account, so I can only post free apps. My option was to use AdMob to get a little income. It wasn't much, having only gathered 4.40$ in 3 months. On top of that, my admob was suspended and I don't know why, I read the rules and as far as I know I didn't do anything wrong. I suspect someone purposely made fake clicks in my app just to mess with me.
I now decided to try Amazon App store, they let me publish paid apps even from my country. I know there were some people who asked for a paid version with no ads. I don't know how to deal with this situation now, I have the google play app which is free but it has a Donate popup. And then there's the same app (not yet approved) but without the donate links on the amazon app store.
Have you ever tried Amazon app store? Do people really buy apps there?
What do you suggest I do?

I had bad experience with Amazon store, they take long time to approve apps.
Imo there is no good enough alternative for Google Play at the moment
Same here, rather bad luck with Amazon to date...

I have tried amazon app store and publish it for free, i see your app is live wallpaper and as i know Kindle users do not like live wallpapers.
i suggest you try slideMe appstore.
Buddy... Wait till google add romania to the merchant list... ..

Both amazon and getjar weren't really useful for me. I did get more traffic from the Opera store. Since my game focuses on in app purchases to make $ it's hard to get traction on any other store since currently I use IAB.
What kind of app did you have? Games I think are most successful with ads, but in the end it depends from app to app, I guess.
You can try Samsung App here: http://seller.samsungapps.com/
I have bad experience with Amazon. Low downloads and last weeks Admob ecpm is extremely low (about 0.05). Has anybody tried to integrate Amazon's banner ads?
Amazon app store is an avenue that developers are still figuring out how to utilize optimally for their purpose.
I agree with most of what has been said here... I don't get even 1% of the amount of downloads from Amazon as I do from Play. In my opinion it is just not Amazon's focus as Play is "THE" store front for apps. I think like most business ventures, it has a lot to do with timing. What kind of niche are your getting into. If super saturated, you may need to create a category within a category in order to reach new users.
You can win Kindle Fire HD now for integrating their api.

Agreeing with previous posters that Google Play doesn't have a good enough alternative yet...
Have tried SlideMe and Amazon and neither have got close to the Play Store in my case.

True, but ARPU on Amazon is far better than on GPlay. Of course GPlay is x10 (at least) when it comes to its reach but if you have a good app, use Amazon's APIs (ads, inapps, etc.) and talk to them, you might get featured. My experience is they actually respond to emails
Amazon Appstore will not make you uber-rich but it's a valid option, much better than GetJar imho.
