New SXSL. - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Downloaded user guide for Xperia SL, battery is removable. However, without expandable memory and useless connect via USB in automobiles, leaves me wanting.
Can you connect the upcoming SL via USB? Or should I wait for the XT or XV?
Thank you.

The white paper says xperia sl has embedded battery. http://www-support-downloads.sonymobile.com/lt26ii/whitepaper_EN_lt26ii_xperia_sl.pdf Everything is the same as xperia s...

I have the user guide, and the back can be open, exposing the battery.

Nope. Go the "Battery" section on page 13 of the guide and it says "Embedded battery". Sorry!

The ONLY, UNIQUE difference between the new SL and the Xperia S is the slightly higher clocked processor. And some news colors. That's it, nothing else.

And its not really unique. It's just an overclocked Xperia s chip

So it means like if i overclock my XS to 1.7 GHz with custom kernel (eg. sspeed), it will become Xperia SL, right?

You're right. Under the wrong impression that battery was removable, since you can take off the back cover to put in micro SIM. I still feel the need for removable battery, so you have backup when one dies, or the original craps our after a year. To send back to Sony to replace battery screams "ripoff".

Can someone help me getting the best phone under 17,000 INR with good rom development support by xda developers ?

As per my issue I would Luke to inform you to make a checklist about your needs and try to match on gsmarena with your checklist. I hope you will find your best one.
Another thing is no device are fully compiled for all sort of needs like surfing, gaming, music, video etc. Every device has its own pros & cons, you will find these over gsmarena too.
Please update us about your needs and your selection. So that this thread will be helpful for other's whone looking for it.

Large screen is not that important for me. Good battery, yes. I would prefer sense but with my requirements, it doesn't fit my budget.
My requirements:
GPU for HD Games
Camera 5MP or above
Screen resolution should be good
At least 1 Ghz processor
And some other basic needs that now a days are fullfilled on almost all the handsets. Oops and also xda support/development of tons should be good.
For the above specs, I found Neo V to be beneficial. Any other suggestions ?

I don't really know how much your budget is since my currency is the Euro but for your requirements (mine were pretty much the same) I would buy Xperia Play (if you're really into gamming). I also considered Neo V but I wanted a bigger screen and the physical controls are really awesome. Neo V is around 160€ in my country and I bought Play for 200€, not that much difference.
I'd recommend a galaxy S. Strong gpu beautiful screen flash and good rom development..

****.. now I'm really confused between these three phones:
HTC One V - doesn't have front camera
Sony Ericsson Neo V - less internal space and a bit old
Samsung Galaxy S - less ROM
Above phones have its cons. I'm from India and here, 3G is not yet fully established. It might take almost a year or 2 for it to get established fully.

Don't buy the galaxy s. Its a nice phone but very old and Samsung has stopped supporting it. You're better off with the Sony or HTC phone that you've mentioned.
Ps.Sony phone gets official ics.

Neo V has CM9 support from FXP Team and also we (TeamXperia) ported AOKP to it so its handy
One V would be the best choice if you are looking for a newer phone
All depends on price, if they are similar price then go for one V

Do your research on the phones available to you and make up your own mind. Never and I mean never get a phone based on how many Developers the phone has because you will be disappointed when the next best device comes out and the Devs move devices as they tend to do.
In closing make up your own mind

Highly unlikely.
More likely :
An app you installed is doing it. I had a live wallpaper that used to freeze up and reboot my phone, so I uninstalled it.

Possibly, but the reason I guess what I did is because I know tons of these phones that have had the same problem and even a lot of posts here on xda show the same problems aswell. So that's why I'm thinking it must be something on the phone originally rather than something that's been out onto it.

Sony ion or Samsung galaxy s3?

I want to choose between these two phones. I live in the states so the s3 is only dual core but it has 2gb of ram. Plus the ion you can't remove the battery. The plus slide is the ion is 100 USD's cheaper than the s3 and had 12mp camera ad opposed to the 8 MP3 camera on the s3. Which phone would you choose and why?

S3 any day.

a Quad core on plastic body and with connectivity issues,
i will wait for Xperia GX
sony acro s
http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_xperia_acro_s-4781.php
i used to believe i would stick with sony...but they are incredibly slow on updates...xperia s and xperia ion should have came out with 4.0 ICS since release...sony (and sony ericsson) has always disappointed with updates and i would expect the same to occur with jellybean. That's ended up being a deal-breaker for me. Also there doesn't appear to be any top developers or root access being up for xperia ion.

s3 because it already has ics and who really know when ion will get ics. and most likely the s3 will get jellybean first. ion i doubt will. the att version of the s3 has a better processor and better software. and the s3 is is pretty much guaranteed top devs

Xperia J or Xperia Sola?

Do I need to sell my Sola for Xperia J? is it worth it?
not worth it. sola is better
J is just like xperia 2011 devices. Old hardware, laggy ics. Also the rom on it is like ics for xperia11 not like ics for p/s. Sola is much better, dualcore hardware and will get ics with the latest sony ui and much smoother.
Go for sola!
Sent from my MT27i using xda app-developers app
I totally agree the Sola is much better.
Why the Sola is better
1. The CPU is dual core and much stronger on the Sola
2. Sola has a higher pixel density
3. Sola has 8GB internal storage, double the Xperia J 4GB
4. Data rates on Sola are faster, see them compared below
5. Newer bluetooth on Sola
6. GPU (graphics capacity) is MUCH stronger on the Sola
7. More advanced multtouch on Sola
8. Sola is thinner and lighter IF you like that
Why the Xperia J is better
1. Larger screen - IF you want that
2. Much stronger battery
Phones compared
http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=4408&idPhone2=4930
Thanks for all the information! I've decided to wait for Xperia V!!

It is worth it if most of the time you will be checking email and browse internet on your phone (just like me). The battery life is good and the screen is good too. And last but not least, the design is beautiful.
Sola is better and faster phone, J is low budget single core phone with bigger, but not better screen.
And V is a beast phone but with much higher price.

As in my opinion,Sola is better than J in terms of performance and also in terms of battery.
Remember our devices use NovaThor SOCs so they have reduced power consumption.
And J uses a ancient CPU as well as GPU.(Cortex A5 :silly: and Adreno 200:silly
These specs are similar to my Galaxy Mini which is nearly 1 year old.
This is just my opinion, rest depends on you.

[Q] openion abt xperia tipo

Guys im in the thought of purchasing xperia tipo to my girlfriend
B4 that I need to know something about it can you tell me the negatives in it ....???
Also positives...
Well tipo has Xloud tm experience which allows it to play music at very loud volumes and enhances the quality of the speakers. Tipo scored very high in Antutu so if your gf is in gaming then I'll recommend it. The bandwidth and upload speed is also quite good. Plus it is a budget phone. The build design of Tipo is beautiful and many reviews has given it full stars for it's build quality. Also it is very light and easy to hold. The only negative is its small screen size. But you can solve that by buying miro.
HIT THANKS

What do u think abt Motorola fire xt
Sent from my MT11i using xda app-developers app
Yes it is good too . But the most reviews I have read , it is a fail mobile. Motorola fire xt is thicker than tipo considering the mobile is from Motorola which creates very thin mobiles. In a video review I saw that it takes very long time to boot load. Also there were many problems with the touch screen. The sound quality isnt that great either. The internet is same as tipo considering if you're using the same WiFi. But I think your gf wouldn't so much in hifi technology, so yeah you can buy her this phone taking into account that the screen is 3.5inches.
PS have you tried htc explorer.
