Ringtones - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok so now that the S3 has become super common I am in desperate need to change my ringtone. Every second person having the same ringtone as mine can get a little irritating. Can anyone recommend a good ringtone replacement to the default which ain't some cheesy remixed mp3. I've tried the zedge app but found nothing worthy...

VERY annoying on and off sound

The Atrix makes this extremely annoying sound when it's being turned on and off. I went to setting and sound to try to see if there was any options to disable this but I could not find anything. Does anyone know if it's possible?
thanks
Rafa
Gingerblur 3.5 silences the SD mount/amount sound, look under development thread.

GladiAtrix silences the sound as well.

It plays the default notification tone when you mount/unmount the internal SD cards upon boot/shutoff. You can change/silence it in the sound settings. This will change/silence all notifications that use the default sound though. Be aware of that.
Swyped on my rooted and frozen Motorola Olympus.

That doesn't always work. Mine doesn't even play the default notification, but rather a very loud and annoying ring.
I just changed to Gingerblur 3.5 and loving it.
I want to be able to hear notifications, just not SD card mounting/unmounting. The weird thing is that it doesn´t even play the new default notification sound that I´ve set (all other notifications do play the new sound).
After having messed up my Galaxy S I would really like to keep the Atrix clean and original as much as possible...so I´d really like to avoid installing new non official roms and such.

google silent mp3. download it. convert it to .ogg (necessary?) file using a free converter. put silent.ogg in /system/media/audio/notifications. reboot phone. change notification ring tone to silent. done
**must have root access and use something like rootexplorer**

But wouldn´t this disable all my notifications? I would like to disable only sd mounting/unmounting.

How to get your ringtones to loop - solution

In case some of you are having trouble getting your ringtone to repeat, here is the solution that worked for me - thanks to the person that figured it out. I know all of us can use Google, but life is short and this can save you some time to do something good for yourself or somebody else - it's all about sharing.
Open the ringtone with a tag editor like Mp3tag, foobar2000 etc. Then add a tag/field called “ANDROID_LOOP” and set it to “true”.
That's it - simple and effective. Now your ring tone WILL LOOP!
....or you could just make the rt shorter than the ring duration
This is meant for short ringtones that ring only once and do not loop.
If you favorite ring tone has silence at the end, you may want to trim it for better results.
Thanks, that's useful!
EXcuse me could you explain me the progress? I downloaded MP3TAG but i have no idea about a Tag/field and I dont understand anythib about send it to "true" could you send me screenshots or a video or something please DDD:

Change dial tone sounds?

Is there a way to change the dialer sounds to a traditional touch-tone phone sounds, rather than that goofy bubble noise?
I think this may help. Not sure if it will work with ICS as it was released last June. http://www.xda-developers.com/android/change-all-your-system-sounds-in-android/

Simplicity V4 UE Problems, anyone else?

Hello, Im using this awesome ROM, the only problems I found are two and they are very annoying.
1) Volume for notifications sounds too high. Why is this? The rest of volume like system, ringtone and such sounds fine and I can lower the volume. But the volume for notifications, even near to silence still sound a way high and kinda distorted for such high volume.
2) I found a little bug. Sometimes, some apps or websites shows my background instead of what should be there. A good example is when Im watching YouTube videos. The video starts fine, but once I rotate my phone for the full view, I see the background while the video still plays (using browser and not the YouTube app.
Also in the gallery I see like some square semintransparent boxes behind the albums but this isnt a big problem at all. More worried about the notifications sound problem, is very annoying :crying:
I hope someone can lend me a hand since I cant post in the original post yet and I havent too much time
Thanks in advanced
PS: I just noticed that I posted the threat probably in the wrong section. I had too much tabs open... sorry guys, if someone can move the threat that could help :/

Noise canceling (STOCK/UNROOTED)

Hi,
I like this phone a lot but it has some annoying features or lack of them and because I don't want to go through the potentially tedious process of selling and looking for a different one I'd rather request some help in finding a good room and root the damn thing instead.
My issues:
- Inability to disable noise canceling when recording voice memos with a built in voice recorded app (I also tested some other ones and it seems to be present with all of them. IM apps seem to be the only things where this isn't present).
- If I want to set a custom ringtone or notification sound there's no slider on the side that allows for quickly scrolling though many files or a search bar which is insane and requires endless scrolling. The only workaround is to rename the file into Aaaaaa or something so it's placed on top alphabetically.
Nothing else really bothers me besides this but the mic thing is really annoying.
