a pre rooted ftf 4.1.b.0.587 ? WOULD BE AWESOME - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Is it possible to make 4.1.b.0.587 pre rooted ? so when we flash via flashtool we get it pre rooted

That would be hard,y don't you use pre root kernel?
Sent from my SK17i using xda premium

yes it would be awesome.
BUT rooting isnt something hard or something that needs more than 3-5 minutes.

@uchiha , i just like stock kernel

If you need it you could do this with downgrade/update method and make a nandroid backup (without your data, with a factory reset) and upload on xda. Thix would maybe help many people, and they could just restore the nandroid backup from your phone.
Or you could look up how to make a update.zip from a nandroid backup

this would really be awsome, imagine bricking your phone then flashing an ftf file with root in it.

I followed that and got "cannot download boot.img, device needs to be rooted first". Well,if I was rooted i wouldn't be doing that in the first place!?
You're doing something wrong then
You have unlocked BL?
Unlocking the boot loader is the way forward.
Sent from my LT15i using XDA App
Thanks for the replays, that was the problem. I thought it was unlocked, but actually wasn't. However I rooted, then installed CM 7 beta-nice,but still not ready for primetime. Now the question is what to do to return to stock rom-just flash it via flashtool? And will the root remain?
Clear/Reset Everything and then go through the procedure again (without re-unlocking BL obviously).
Follow the steps this time...
I suggest you use this ftf (Global 2.3.4) as it works perfectly.

The DoomKernel is to be avoided for now,as the Wifi and vibration are not working, tried it yesterday. I can live without the vibra, but Wifi is a must.

Sony Xperia Go - rooted kernel

Hello everyone,
I finally managed to make rooted kernel for Xperia Go (ST27i).
I just want to mention, that I have unlocked bootloader and I didn't try is this kernel working with locked bootloader.
Requirements:
stock Sony 6.0.B.3.162 FW
unlocked bootloader
working fastboot
How to Flash:
download the rooted_kernel_ST27i.elf (sendspace.com/file/74xilq)
save it in the folder with fastboot binaries (fastboot.exe files)
power down device
start device in fastboot mode (hold volume up and plug cable)
and use the following commands to flash the kernel:
fastboot flash boot rooted_kernel_ST27i.elf
fastboot reboot
After restart, download and install busybox from market, and update superuser...
Update:
Rooted kernel .184 (without recovery )
It's work for me
Flash last firmware 6.0.B.3.184 using Flashtool
Download attach, and flash the kernel:
fastboot flash boot rooted_kernel_184_ST27i.elf
fastboot reboot
Click to collapse
I can't do this without:
DooMLoRD - I used his files from rooted kernel for Xperia P
Championswimmer - for tips and tool (ANDROID KERNEL KITCHEN 0.2.2)
Bin4ry - for tips
So, thanks to them
big thanks man. i will try it. little question: when will be rooted kernel for 6.0.B.3.184 too?

Great job driversax, many thanks. Too bad I updated to 184 yesterday. I'll either have to wait for a corresponding kernel or I'll have to find out how to downgrade again.

But I will check when I get back from vacation (4 days) and also I will try to make new rooted kernel for firmware 184 and maybe recovery

I confirm that you can install it over 184. Two caveats however:
- User data is wiped (I was under the assumption that a kernel flash keeps user data - is this generally not the case or only in this instance?)
- In About phone, the reported build stays at 184, but the phone offers to update over the air to 184 again, and after downloading, installing and rebooting, it complains that installation was unsuccessful. You cannot even remove the notification, it stays permanently in the status bar. I finally got rid of them by disabling the updater – thanks Driversax, finally I have root powers – and rebooting.
Battery life has been normal (or even better than previously) for me (using it less than 24 hours though).
---------- Post added at 06:09 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:02 AM ----------
Oh, and one more thing:
Droidwall doesn't work (iptables doesn't seem to be implemented on the Go - apparently not the oply Sony phone with this problem, although Xperia S is reported to have it). This was the prime reason for me to root the phone, so it's quite a bummer. But at least Titanium Backup works, and I can get rid of the bloatware (although, to Sony's credit, there are no overly intrusive or battery-draining apps).

Rooting Xperia S

Good day, XDA. I'd like to ask help with regards to rooting my Xperia S. I have recently bought this and it got shipped with ICS 4.0.4 and build number 6.1.A.0.45 and I updated its build number to 6.1.A.2.45. I have also unlocked its bootloader successfully. Now I'm having problems on how to root this. I've read certain posts regarding ICS rooting and they all state that it has to have 6.1.A.0.45 build number. But I don't know how to rollback to the previous build number. What should I do?? Please help..

Well, in order to flash KitKat you'll need to unlock the bootloader because you have to flash a custom kernel first.
Now if your bootloader can't be unlocked then there's no way to flash custom ROM's unless if a ROM can be flashed in a locked bootloader phone. Sorry.

Well, Xperia U is not a good phone in speed, but there's locked bootloader ROM's that you can try, also, you can try these tweaks:
Go to developer options and set background process limit to 2 or 3.
Check Force GPU rendering.
Check "Don't keep activities".
Check show all ANR.
Check Kill app Back button (remember when you're closing your app long press the back button to avoid to run in background)
Use Facebook from browser, man, the app is a pain in the a**, 60MB RAM only using it, too much for your phone, you can try mbasic.facebook.com or touch.facebook.com that URL are mobile-based sites. It's a lot faster than using the app.
Download and install Autorun Manager, this thing prevents apps to open by itself in background, can be useful with apps like WhatsApp or some games like Despicable Me.
Just few tips, you can try a RAM manager but I don't like it very much, is all up to you.
You cant install with lb atis112's patch works with ONLY CM9.1 AND NOTHING ELSE so try and risk a BRICK.
Sent from Earth.
All sony stock fw have many "bootwares" .
First you perform factory reset.
Apps like chrome, facebook are heavy ram eaters!
Disable them from -> settings -> apps -> all apps-> select aps you dont use often as disabled!
Trust me i'll run fast and bugless.

Hello
I see you are totally green on this.
Well, im kinda green too, but I have had a lot of help from @xda and now I can manage to do some stuff with my telephone.
The first thing you have to do is BACKUP!!! This is always important.
Well, then lets get to it.
The XPERIA Z2 has a locked bootloader. This means that it cannot flash any roms, custom or other without being unlocked. When you unlock the bootloader, you delete all files on the phone, (don’t ask me how, it just does) and also deletes a partition called TA. The TA-partition contains DRM-keys, to explain that, @Envious_Data might help.
Anyway, when you have root, you can backup the TA, BEFORE you flash any custom ROM, or the ROM with ROOT. That way you will always be able to go back to scratch. Without ROOT on 4.4.4 you need to downgrade to 4.4.3, ROOT and backup the TA-partition before you even start thinking about unlocking bootloader.
(search the XDA, Google (use XDA in the end for XDA results) XDA-TV and you will find tons and tons of stuff. Once you understand some, it will come fast to you.)
I have gathered some threads here for you to read, and I hope this will work for you too.
Start off by reading this
When done, notify me.

To root the Z2 and get dual recovery on 4.4.2 follow these steps
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/help/how-to-root-firmware-314-t2821619
Then you need to follow the instructions in this thread, it's much easier than what it seems
