Ok so I'm fully flashed and running on Boost with my 3d. Question is, could I still flash roms without it affecting my Boost settings?
I only know from what I've read but I think if you're just flashing Roms then you'll be ok, I might not update the radio and I probably wouldn't dial ##data# and choose to restore data profile. I hosed a wildfire s on virgin mobile beyond repair by doing that. From what I've read you need to NEVER lose the AAA key, you'll never get it back and be stuck in 1x. Have you made a backup in qpst?
If do flash a Rom you may have to manually set up your apn's so before flashing a Rom I would write down all my apn's first

Well I paid some guy to do it on my PC remotely. A backup was made with all the settings pre and post flash.

You can feel free to flash roms and kernels. When you flash a rom (sense based) you'll need to do a ##data# and go to Advanced then near the bottom to MMS Server URL and change it to "http://mm.myboostmobile.com" (without quotes), and that will be all.
No boost settings will be "messed" up by flashing roms/kernels.
Now for cm7, miui, etc AOSP/AOKP I think you'll need an app from the market to get MMS messages.
As one of the posters above me said, you should create a qpst backup just for good form, won't hurt & may help.
I have updated the radios before on my evo 4g and it doesn't effect the boost service one bit
So far I have not updated my 3d's radios. Haven't found a need to, but when I see "great" feedback on a radio update I'll def do it.
So flash away, Themes, Roms, Kernels etc.
Boost is Sprint, so there isn't much to configure just MMS and modded Phone.apk so you can get the native Sense Voicemail app to notify you of phone messages.
I have my 3d flashed to another carrier as well.......I changed ROMs/kernels , I also updated from 2.08 to 2.17 which updates your radios..... and everything is still working fine...... but when I used revolutionary to S-OFF ny phone , all settings went.back to that of sprint's. So I restored my backup , but calls text weren't working . So i had to called the guy who flashed it to another carrier and he gave me the A-key, which solved all the issues.

Oh yeah..good point, rooting after flashing to new carrier will cause issues.
Root must be done prior to swapping carrier.

Revolutionary unlocks your NAND LOL, it does not root your phone , after that if you want you flash a zip containg superuser/supersu Apk and binary from recovery which will root your phone.
Without SU no root app will work even trough you have used revolutionary/htcdev

Do you know which program was used to flash your phone? If the answer is QPST and QXDM (which are the qualcomm tools) then restoring after a botched flash is fairly simple with a backup just irritating lol. Always take special note of your MEID and ESN while its still flashed to boost. Oh and if possible (just because its the biggest pain to recover) have the flash programmer send you your AAA and HA keys from the donor phone, "AAA" being the most important. Those 4 items are the unique end of the flash pretty much so if you have them restoration is far easier should things mess up.
Hope this helps!
You can flash any rom, kernel, radio, prl etc. I've done everything and have had no ill effects. The only time I ran into an issue was while downgrading hboot.. Lost my flash for a few hrs until I re flashes it to boost. And yes on asop roms u need gosms or an equivalent to receive MMS

It's "while achieving S-OFF" , not "while downgrading" ......you run revolutionary "after" your hboot is downgraded to 1.40.0000.
Then revolutionary will change your hboot to 1.40.1100

Hi, I currently have problems getting my WiFi to work. Every ICS ROM/Kernal I've tried (includes KingCobra, mwakious,Coolexe, Viper3D) my WiFi has been dysfunctional. It would be grayed out saying "Turning on..." or "ON" and the toggle won't work at all. I have tried WiFix as well. It worked once for me and WiFi problems start happening again over night. Does anyone have a solution to my WiFi problem?

I don't know about any of the roms u listed off the top of my head, but a lot of roms need the latest RADIO to work as intended, which I believe is:
11.25.3504.06_M.
i have the same problem. im s-off, rooted. tried updating the radio, adb pushing boot.img, flashing stock rom, clean wipe and flashing custom rom, gui kernel flash... nothing worked to fix my wifi problem.
is my wifi really dead? do i have to send it to HTC for repairs?
any help is welcome.

My guess would be that the actual WiFi antenna died for some reason... I would try to flash a RUU just to be sure, but likely a hardware problem so you will likely be sending it for repair which is a problem in and of itself as htcdev unlock doesn't work with phones with a replaced motherboard. Bottom line, try the RUU it might work

Been having the same issue for awhile too. Running PredatorUnity Rom. Used flashgui image to flash the ANA v7 kernel and after it rebooted the WiFi was working no problems at all. Then after about 30min it stopped. What started happening was it would say that it was on but would not show any WiFi hotspots only the previously connected showing it out of range. Then completely stopped giving me the grayed out turning on error. Really weird stuff. Been trying to get it working again since Sunday

Have you tried removing your SIM card? I tried that before and it actually ended up working. My thought was it was the WiFi Reigional problem, however, after trying out the WiFix it did the trick but after that I still ended up where I started. Now that method no longer works for me. Europe would be preferable, you would prolly fail the CID check on the Rodgers one

just to make sure, this is the one i plan on downloading and running.
As the title says, I'd like to restore the backup it creates. I have a problem with my phone where it receives zero signal regardless of what rom installed. I have seen a different thread on this problem but there was no clear answer on how to solve it so I'm trying to backtrack my steps. I did the following all at the same time, htc unlock, s-off exploit with Juopunut, and sim unlock using config.dat. They all seemed to work perfectly until I got this problem. I'd ask for support at umlimited.io but when I did they insisted they didn't create the problem and if I persisted in asking how to restore their Juopunut backup I'd be kicked...which was kinda rude, but what are you going to do? Thanks in advance for any help.

Didn't even know the radio version could be upgraded/ downgraded. I did a quick search for this but didn't find where to grab a download. Where can I find an update for this? The radio version is 11.25.3504.06_M Also note that this is a GSM phone. So if this is a different incompatible version let me know!
Edit: So, I managed to find some, but when the bootloader trys to flash it it'll give me the message "Model ID incorrect!" This is from the GSM thread...what's going on?
your CID is incompatible. I'd suggest you run an RUU with the latest radios. then flash recovery and then rom.

It's not the CID, I just rewrote it to HTC__001, unless it's expecting something else? It was originally ROGER001 I think.
Edit: I just noticed something, when in fastboot mode the model name is SHOOTER_U, Is there always a underscore there?
hmm not sure about this. If you want to get back to stock you should run the Rogers ICS RUU. see if you get signals back

Alright, will do. Is there anything I have to do in preparation, relock bootloader, etc?
yes you do need to relock. sorry i forgot to mention that
Well, the RUU update software completely fails. It fails at trying to get the phone to boot into the bootloader and then just pops up a message saying unknown error 155. Anyone know what the hell is going on with my phone?
i think the problem may be your hboot. Try flashing this hboot
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1906172
then make sure its locked/relocked then run RUU
Finally got it to install, I had to extract the rom.zip from the .exe and then rename it so that hboot would detect it. Installed fine, but the problem still persists. I have no signal what so ever. Is there no fix for this?
you just installed the rom. u need the radio with it too. Any ways i think some1 else should post in here as im all out of ideas
Does your phone see your sim card? Have you set up your apn's? Can you find a wifi and connect?
Sent from my Evo 3D GSM using Tapatalk 2
Yes, wifi connects, bluetooth connects. I'm pretty sure that the rom.zip is actually everything, it ha s a check list when installing, one of those things was called radio...so I'm pretty sure it installed a new or reinstalled that version. ALso, APNs don't do anything. It's almost like a driver issue or something, the radio just won't get a signal, android doesn't even detect it. When in the options the mobile network toggle is greyed out.
Ok and what rom are you trying to use?
Sent from my Evo 3D GSM using Tapatalk 2
It's the stock ROGERS RUU, I had to extract the ROM.zip file from it because the .exe gave me a unknown error. renaming the .zip to PG86IMG.zip seemed to work. I'm now on stock. The previous roms were nonsense and coolsense. I should also note that originally I tried to install a cdma miui rom that obviously failed.
So your mobile data is still greyed out? Have you tried to find a network through the mobile data settings
Sent from my Evo 3D GSM using Tapatalk 2

And count yourself lucky because you could have bricked your phone if you had flashed a cdma firmware package
Sent from my Evo 3D GSM using Tapatalk 2
Yes, it searches for a while, then find a few networks which I'm taking a as a good sign that it even did that, but will not connect at all. When I select one it trys to open a toast error but then is closed immediately after, so I can't even read the error. When I check the network info in the android phone identity it just shows nothing, zero for signal, no network, etc.
Could be sim unlock that did? But I am guessing
Sent from my Evo 3D GSM using Tapatalk 2
Alright, so I've made some progress. I found that this is actually model PG8631000 instead of PG8630000 which is why it failed checks. A quick edit of the android-info.txt in the zip files allows it to flash. No problems with that, flashed new hboots and radios. However, the problem is still there. So finally I found a radio fix program for linux. Booted it up and it appears that my phone won't give any MEID values, they were probably wiped or something. I can't progress because with the wrong values I can completely brick the phone. This makes sense that the phone doesn't have the right values, it feels like the radio works, but has the incorrect values (which is why it finds services but won't connect). Is there any way to restore the MEID?
Edit: Well I'm an idiot, MEID is for CDMA phones. My phone status shows values for the network so that isn't it either....I'm so lost.

You do NOT need stock recovery to flash an RUU s-off.
With S-OFF you don't need to do anything. Plug your phone in and run the RUU. I just did this yesterday. All I had to do is flash TWRP and I'm right back to rooted.

can this be flashed on a AT&T HTC One, just left them and love the phone. BL is unlocked, have flashed the T-Mobile radio, but my phone continuously drops to EDGE, then back to LTE and 4G, I thought the baseband puts the frequencies needed for optimal T-Mobile network compatibility, namely the WCDMA 1700....im in NYC and i know they updated the towers here so 4G works on GSM1900, but having that WCDMA 1700 would be best. I guess there are other things T-mobile does to tweak the network i guess on the build.prop or whatever? not sure? any ways, any inout would be greatl appreciated,
just so anyone is confused. this was super easy to do to completely restore to a factory phone.
I was on TWRP w/ ARHD 22 ROM, unlocked bootloaded thru htcdev, S-On. here is all i had to do to flash this (super simple)
fire up fastboot on phone
verify fastboot via cmd (fastboot devices)
enter fastboot oem lock
phone reboots and i now have **Tampered** **Relocked** on bootloader
leave phone in fastboot and run the RUU file and 10 min later
factory phone

Hello to all.
I have not rooted a phone in quite a while, since the original Evo. Here's the rundown of what I've been experiencing lately:
I unlocked the bootloader using the HTC dev method, it went smooth. To obtain s-off (I was on the latest OTA of 3.17.651.5), I attempted rumrunner. Everything went fine until I got an error with rumrunner. I then tried the windroid toolkit, flashed TWRP (v2.7.1.0) which was a success. When I flashed superuser from windroid, it rebooted me to recovery to flash the zip file "superuser.zip", but it did nothing. I looked on this forum and found a supersu zip file. I tried flashing a couple versions of the supersu (1.25, 2.01) but no luck. For every one I attempted to flash, I would get the message that said successful but no s-off. After confirming the flash, it would say "flashing file 1 of 1", but then switch to saying "flashing file 1 of 0". I ended up flashing a rom (CM11-20131217), which put the phone into a bootloop (I got this resolved by downgrading to TWRP 2.6.3.0, flashing the kernel for the CM11, then flashing the rom, which of course still kept me S-on.)
So basically, I have an unlocked bootloader, with TWRP 2.6.3.0 as a recovery, on CM11-20131217 build, yet I'm still S-on. Is there a certain version of supersu or superuser that I should be flashing? How can I achieve S-off?

Thanks to anyone that can be of assistance!
You have to run Rumrunner again. But flash stock rooted before you do (I don't know if it'll work while on CM).
Thanks for the quick reply. I will give that a shot, hope it does work. Is there a certain version of that I should flash before running rumrunner again?

Okay, thanks!
After getting some time here and there, I attempted to flash a few stock rooted roms with no luck. I'm not sure if it's because of the rom that I am currently on. not s-off or what. A lot of the stock root roms I do find have a requirement that you must be s-off to flash. I even tried running RUU's (4.13.651.4 and 3.17.651.4) for specific roms, but they gave me errors and would not continue each time. I remember when rooting and gaining s-off was much simpler than this lol. I don't even know if it is worth continuing to keep trying.
Check the link below for a ROM that is S-on friendly. Make sure you follow the directions in the thread to get it installed. Once you've done this you can go for S-off, at which time you should be able to flash whatever ROM you'd like.

Thanks for that! It worked with meanbean. I ran rumrunner again and it gave me an error, saying something about an update on rumrunner.us. I gave firewater a shot, and after it said "the first bottle is open...chugging", the screen stays blank for a while and firewater instructs me to try again and ends the process. From what I read last night around my searches, I'm supposed to get a notification on the evo asking for superuser permission but that didn't happen. I'm guessing this is due to the wrong supersu being flashed.
Glad I got a little further, I'm just going to play around with it until something gives and I am s-off
There's a setting in the su app that will let you grant su access to all apps automatically and without a prompt. That should get rid of that problem.
I wouldn't go with those settings for any other purpose though, obviously.

I went into the SuperSU app and selected where the default access was set to grant. I ran firewater again with the normal method and weaksauce method with no luck, it's still doing the same thing. USB debugging is on, and the drivers are installed correctly as well.

Disable antivirus software on phone and pc.
It ain't nothing but a G thing baby... Lg G3 LGSL990
Weaksauce is an exploit for Verizon phones that can't be unlocked with HTC Dev so it's pointless to try it on the EVO LTE.

Also, while you need htc sync manager to unlock your boot loader, it usually really screws with any other adb tools, so uninstall that too.

This. Also make sure you're using USB 2.0 ports, as 3.0 ports can cause connectivity issues.

First thing is that in order to run any RUU device boot loader must be 're-locked to do this enter into fastboot plug in to pc and within your Android unlocker folder that u use to unlock your device hold shift and right click anywhere in the folder to open command window then type : fastboot oem lock . This will lock the bootloader, now you will be able to run RUU. Just keep in mind that you may only go up Android versions levels ,, running RUU will stabilize your device and fixes the sectors which u may have damaged during the moding in the RAM .. Now for obtaining S-OFF the only option for you (since u upgraded) is to use DirtyRacun witch uses Ubuntu Live CD method and it does work. ***Now, if you just want unlocked bootloader with SU permission so u can flash rooms (not firmware or radio) and don't care about S-OFF then let me know to show you the options available at this time .. I repeat *you may only go up in android versions , in case that is necessary to go down then you need to deal with the CID. By switching and modifying the CID only then you are allowed to downgrade the Android Build versions
Dirty Racun isn't the only option for S-off
He's already unlocked his bootloader and has root. He's on the latest firmware version for the old partition layout: it's well-documented that methods like Rumrunner work.
OP, here's the thread for Rumrunner. I suggest giving it a read:thumbup:

Thanks, I will look at that now. I tried disabling the antivirus as stated above and that didn't work either, so maybe this thread will give more detail to help me gain S-off.

Sorry for the late reply. Correct, I'm using mean bean. I'm using wifi while doing all of this, my service provider is AT&T.

Excuse my ignorance but but how did you get sprints HTC evo 4g LTE codename jewel to work on at&t. I didn't know you could do that. (hint: are you sure you have the right phone? )
Anyways. As long as its an HTC it should be fine right? The problem would be the same.
