Charged 3% in 5 hours? - Motorola Droid RAZR

Hi guys,
For the past few days, my phone has been taking barely any charge.Last night it only charged about 10% (over 7 hours) and today I've had it plugged in since since noon and it's only charged from 25% to 28%. Help. This is silly. I've tried 3 chargers.
Thanks,
Shawna

What is your battery usage? (check it in system)
Also when you say you are charging it, is this via usb or wall charger? and is this with the phone switched on, connected to the internet or switched off?

Battery is 45% screen. And have tried all of the above in various combinations. Apparently it's related to Kexec. Thanks for the help.

Battery drains while Note is charging from outlet

I noticed that while I have my Note charging from the wall, the battery will drain if I have the screen on or browse the internet. LTE coverage stops about 5 miles from my house, so I was browsing the internet on HSPA during this time. I tried wifi for a bit and it still drained. It will only charge when the screen is off, when I turn it back on the battery starts draining. Does anyone else experience this?
EDIT: It also takes forever to charge. I'm not as concerned with that as much right now though.

Yes mine does this too, i dont really care since my phone lasts 16+ hours i usually just start charging it when i go to sleep.
but yes i have this problem.
I just got my phone yesterday so I don't know how long the battery will last for me, but having it drain while plugged in is really annoying. I plug in my phone overnight and will read news and browse the internet until I fall asleep, so I don't want it to discharge while I'm doing that.
I'm testing the ipad charger we have, as it offers 2.1A instead of 1. If the phone can make use of the extra current it may help. Otherwise the charging circuitry is just what it is.

Same here. Which sucks for me since im a heavy web browser during the day and can only get 6 hours of battery.

Please let me know your results. I will buy a new charger if it prevents this.
This does not happen with mine. I just ran a test - started at 82% on the wall charger. Currently tethering via wifi, doing heavy surfing. Also opened Opera and kept refreshing a page every 20-30 seconds to keep the screen on and to simulate surfing via the device itself. So doing double surfing. After about 10 minutes I was up to 84%.

That's good to know that at least one person doesn't have this issue. Hopefully more people reply so we can see how many people are or are not having this problem.
For some reason after my first charge my streak never chargers to completely 100 percent. Only 98 percent no matter how long I charge it for. Anyone know why?

My note charges while using it as well. The ipad charger likely won't make a difference unless the circuitry in the Note is different than the Galaxy Nexus as I tried an ipad charger with that and the current was so high it shut off from overheating..
Also your phone has software in it to prevent overcharging. What it does is it will charge to 100%, then even if plugged in run off battery power down to say, 95% and when it hits that lower threshold it will charge back up to 100% and so on. This is probably what you are seeing.

I've noticed something similar to this and attribute it to the dual core processor and movie-theatre-sized screen.
Actually, my Note takes longer to charge on any charger other than the one that came with the phone, unless I have it charging off a usb plug directly into my computer (for some reason). However, I will say that unless I'm doing something super data/GPS intensive like Google Nav, the battery will not continue to discharge while plugged in, so it's possible you might have a crap battery.
I would power cycle the thing a few more times and then if no different, try and swap out the battery.

Chalk me up on the list for those that have draining batteries while being charged. I don't even have to be doing anything on the phone except making a phone call... and it will drain.
I have a little update to my problem. Instead of using the cable that came with the phone, I tried a 15ft cable from monoprice that I had laying around. Now the phone charges when in use, and chargers much quicker than it did with the Samsung cable. So I am happy now.
I am having the same issue. It takes more than 15 hours to fully charge, then only get about 6 hours of usage. It will also drain if plugged in and I am using it with the screen on. This should not be happening. I believe that the battery is defective. If there is no fix for this, I am going to exchange mine. I read about the outstanding battery life on this thing and I want it! I was tired of getting only 6 hours on my Dell Streak and paid full price for the Note hoping to get at least 10-12hrs. I can't even get the thing to fully charge.

If you're using the stock charger and cable, something is wrong. Period. It takes maybe 5-6 hours to charge from nearly flat, probably less.

Using the stock charger plugged into a wall outlet? Or charging from a USB cable plugged into a computer?
in my experience since I got my note a month ago, different usb cables seem to vary in charging speed, even using the same usb port on my computer or the wallwart. I know that prob makes no sense and i can't explain it, but I have a cable that has those rf chokes on each end, and it is thicker than most cables, seems to carry current better or something. I am charging from a usb3 port on my desktop, and have fast charge turned on so that may be affecting it.
I can use my phone, while charging and I gain 1% about every 5 minuets.

battery not charging properly, caps around 54%

For the past day and a half I've noticed my battery hasn't been charging proeprly. It charges very incrementally, and ends up staying around 54% at the most. Before wed night the battery was fine and I was charging sucessfully. But I noticed wed night it was going very slow. I've never had this problem before for since I bought this phone back in Dec 2011.
When I charge overnight, it will charge from the 40s to the 50s in about 6 hours of charging time.
I am stock ICS and using a 3rd party USB cable with the original USB wall connector. I haven't noticed any problems with the 3rd party cable.
I spoke with a Verizon rep and they are sending another battery to me. I'm wondering if you all have any other solutions?
If you have Amon Ra installed, you could try wiping battery stats in recovery.
Original battery? It's possible it's just worn out now. It happens.
I don't have amon ra installed, could I install it since I'm stock and wipe the stats?
Yeah its the original battery.
What's odd is that the battery finally charged past the 50s percentage wise and I let it get to 80%. It went from 80% to 76% in a little over 40 min of use (mainly using the internet browser on 4g LTE).
Could the battery just be messing up cuz its old and used up for the past 1.5 years or so?
Have you been restoring a backup or recently fresh flashed a rom?

I've done neither. For the past two says I've noticed the battery charging to 100% again, though once it took a little longer to get past 53-54%.. I don't know what's going on lol
Try this trick, when it gets stuck at a certain percentage, just reboot your phone. It will/should bring you up to the correct percentage.

I had to get a new battery after about a year because I ran mine down so darn much.
I tried that, but it didn't help with getting the battery charging again. However, the battery has been charging at times the past two days. Sometimes it won't charge, but then it does. What I tried doing was I unplugged a shaver that was charging from the surge protector and plugged it into another surge protector and soon after, my phone was charging overnight.
I don't know how else to explain it, but it seems that this issue is random. Maybe the battery is having issues and it's randomly charging or not allowing it to charge itself.

Yes I'm using the same charger. I even tried using my nexus 7 charger has well but still chargers very slowly. My original battery had a problem and could only charge to 78%. That old battery usually takes about 2hrs from 0%-78%

Thanks for the reply, I changed chargers but it did not seem to help me... I thought I was a problem because I was rooted. So I unrooted and this problem still persists... It is also inconvenient for me to change the charger because it was bought from overseas.

I solved half my problem... I found out that the problem was with my cable. Its not a Sammy cable but a Sony one. My Sammy cable had the same problem and could not charge. Therefore half of the problem is the cable... But it still takes about 10hrs to charge...
I found out that even my car charger does not work...

Low battery charging problem - xt910

Hi guys,i've a razr xt910 with a low battery chargin problem (like 30% max),someone can help me?
please someone can help me?
I guess your battery is gone. Happened to me once, it charges to 30 then shows 100 all of a sudden. Then while using charge drops and switched off within an hour. I changed the battery and things are good after that.

Have you tried different USB cables? Did you try only OEM cables or other genric ones too?
Usually slow charging is the USB cable fault.
If its not the USB cable problem then,
Another solution, Have you tried direct/manual chargin the battery yet?
You can check the solution i posted on this link - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2348170&page=2
It is the last comment on the page.
If the direct charging works, then its not ur battery definitely. Could be the charging port.
Let me know what you find out and we can analyse more on this.

nexus 9 charging +10 hours?

recentrly my nexus says it will take more than +10 hours to charge!. i have tried charging it with different chargers and they all say the same.
Idk why sometimes my nexus9 shows even 1 day to full charge. Yesterday it showed 11 hours. This is not charger issue, Amazon sent me new charger from Anker and it helped for short time, showed 5-8 hours. Tried different cables some charge faster. Noticed that it shows ridiculous charge time right after I plug it but if I wait 15 mins and check again it's bit shorter. But it still quite a lot 6-9 hours for 4 hours SOT :\

Mine works fine with the stock rom and my nexus 6's charger. What seems to work for everyone is to root it and install fire & ice kernel, stupid solution, but true.
