So I've been trying to repair my phone for three days. (I don't have a backup of my efs folder) I've tried the steps in this forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1801997
NOTHING WORKS, the drivers provided don't install my phone. I really don't know what to do. can anybody help?
Is it that the drivers will ONLY work on the AT&T S3?

Yeah ofcause u have to pay for a repairment,u ****ed it up and want someone else to fix it..
BUT,it's not that expensive and it's worth it and when u get back from repair..backup your EFS folder with"k-tool" free from market and with galaxy s3 toolkit v5(by mskip).find it in "original android development"
How much did you pay to get it repaired?

You should be fine if you are in warranty.. You will get either a replacement or a refurbish one, as long as it was not physically damaged or the water sensor has not been tripped.

When a device had problems and is sent back to the shop, they fix it and sell it again, that why refurbished stuff is cheaper.

Hello to all. I have a problem that seems quite serious and I do not know what to do.
Basically, I tried to install on my phone firmware Mozilla Boot to Gecko, through recovery of kernel siyah v5.0, doing a restore of the file found on this page: harjunpaa.fi/B2G/
Of course, the firmware, which is in pre-alpha, is full of bugs. Among these, during calls, my partner could not hear my voice.
I then decided to run a deep clean to go back to android. So I went into recovery and I noticed that I had ClockworkMod 5.5.0.4, which is indicated on the first page above to perform the restore. So, instead of proceeding with the deep clean, I tried again to do a restore through this recovery.
The process actually lasted a bit 'more time than the first, and I thought then that I was doing the right thing.
Finished everything I restarted the phone, but nothing. Black screen. Then I removed the battery and tried to turn it on normally, but nothing. The phone does not even go into recovery or download mode. I also tried to force the download mode by inserting the jig key, but still nothing.
At this point I find myself with a brick that will not start in any way and do not know what to do. Of course, before I do this, I loaded the battery to 100%, so there is no danger that it is unloaded.
Please, I'm desperate, help me.
Sorry for my bad english. Thanks.
JTAG repair (if possible) or service centre. Can't see what else you could possibly do given you're getting absolutely nothing from the phone & you've tried a jig.

I think your problem was that you had your phone discharge. My problem, unfortunately, is far more serious.
If it cant start(in any mode),and you have warranty, then samsung will replace the mobo.
i have warranty, but i have the phone rooted, so don't know if I can use it. however I have reset the counter with triangle away.
Send it to Samsung/authorised repairer & see what happens.

Why didn't you charge it at first? If you read the guides you were supposed to have at least 50% of battery.

if I send the phone to samsung and I can not take advantage of the guarantee, do they warn me before repair?
If you removed the triangle and did a counter reset, then they can't do anything than repairing your mobile phone. What reasons do they have for refusing repair? Rooting files on your phone? Well they can't look up on what you have stored on your phone, you know, data privacy and stuff...

My mobile's motherboard is damaged(it is in warranty)..problem is if I sent to service centre how do I know that it is changed or just temporarily repaired..coz there are 3 to 4 service centres in hyderabad city..I asked one the service centre to replace my product coz it is damaged in fist week itself..he intelligently repaired the motherboard temporarily(instead of replacing it, so that he need not replace the product) and said sorry sir it was not a motherboard problem it is some connector problem and it was replaced..but im really worried.. now its temporarily ok..but in future it will create so many problems..I have to run around service centres and that to I will have no freedom of using custom roms(this is the main reason I bought s3..so please guys CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO KNOW THAT MY MOTHERBOARD IS REPLACED or any app that can tell my mobile's motherboard model no. ..PLZZ HELP ME..

IMEI number changed is a clue
Dowbload the emmc checker app from the play strore...if the chip no. Is oxf7 then it has been changed most certainly... And if it is still oxf1 then it may or may not have been changed.

If you have a backup of your EFS from the old mainboard and the new mainboard then compare the nv_data.bin files @ 0x00180000 if this data is different then the mainboard has been changed. If you still have the old mainboard and your taking it into service and want to know if its been changed while in service, then *#03# and compare these numbers, is most simple method.

Technically speaking, what data (and from where) is that command reading?
If you have one of the bad boards, aren't they obliged to change it anyway? If you say that your having issues that software cannot fix then I can't see them simply sending it back

I think I have this problem too.
I can't flash any ROM in my phone. One time I tried to flash a ROM via mobile Odin (I have done it many times before) and it get stuck and i has not able to enter either download mod or recovery so I send the mobile to repair and they "repair" it under warranty. But actually I have the same problem and when I try to flash a ROM with pc odin it also gets stuck...at "Get PIT for mapping.." I don't know what to do.. They should have replaced the motherboard but they didn't.

Hello Xda I've soft bricked my S3 I can access download mode.
I got into this problem cause I flashed Supernexus it worked fine for a few days. Until I went into bootloop and couldn't do anything I couldn't access recovery so I just flashed the stock rom and now the phone only boots into download mode and can be viewed by odin also it says on the phone please connect to kies in recovery. I done this put the phone doesn't get recognised any ideas and help will be appreciated

if you can't access recovery after reflashing a stock ROM, send it to service
and ask for help in the help section, not here
They won't help because its rooted and stuff also i have a slight crack so sending it into service will cost me like 200$ to repair
What build are you using? Looks like I'm moving away from that ROM 0.o

yeah, the other option is to throw the phone away. your call.
or you can also be doing something wrong.
or you can hope for me to be wrong.
i've been searching around an they calling this the ''sudden death syndrome'' and can happen at any time to a select few all you have to do is send it into service and get it repaired for free but i can't because i've got a slight hairline crack so my warranty is void and they are asking for around £150 for repairing this phone
You have a software problem not hardware. The crack has nothing to do with that. I had a crack on my S1 but sent it to service for new USB port - no problems.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
I've rang them again after you said this and said sorry we can't do anything until u repair the screen by us or yourself. Also they said we can't guarantee that the problem I got was not from my crack so they said no to repairing for free they asking for 135£ to repair the crack
Then they'll replace the motherboard for free

You need to use your warranty and take it back to your service centre or repair shop.
Where are you located? If your not under warranty, I do dead boot repair, among other things. For much cheaper than a repair shop, online JTAG service, or filling an insurance claim, I might add.
